Cynthia was puzzled by Felix and Yoel’s reaction after she mentioned Joshua’s amnesia. Then, she
looked at Joshua, who had remained obedient throughout, and asloed Yoel, “Why are you asking that?
“It just feels unreal,” Yoel replied.
“He really has amnesia. I observed him closely after bringing him back last night, and there’s no
possibility he’s pretending.” Cynthia affirmed.
If everything he was doing is an act, then the world owes Joshua an Oscar. After all, his expressions,
mannerisms, and instinctive movements and reactions were too natural.
After talking with Felix, Cynthia tested Joshua, and he was not pretending
Yoel looked at Joshua curiously.
Joshua frowned.
Why was he staring at him? Did he not know that it was impolite to stare like that?
“Joshua thinks I’m his sister,” Cynthia intended to discuss this with Yoel further.
Joshua perked up
Yoel was confused.
Sister?
“Let me introduce you. This is your former assistant, Yoel Cheyne. You trusted him a lot, and you had a
good relationship.” Cynthia wanted Joshua to interact with someone familiar.
“Assistant?” Joshua tilted his head, confused.
He had no idea what an assistant did.
Cynthia paused and provided the simplest explanation. “He used to handle your schedule and perform
tasks you assigned to him. But you don’t need to worry about those things now. Just know that he’s
someone you have a good relationship with.”
“I’ll remember that.” Joshua obediently nodded.
Yoel was disappointed and puzzled.
Was this really their decisive and aloof boss?
Why was he so docile?
“Do you want to go to the company with him? Cynthia suggested.
Joshua’s hand involuntarily tightened, and he began to overthink again.
Was Cynthia planning to abandon him?
He pursed his lips and murmured, “Can I not go?
Cynthia noticed his rapidly changing emotions and his confusion. “Of course. I’m just making a
suggestion. The decision is up
to you.”
“I don’t want to go,” Joshua mustered the courage and
“Then, do you want to stay here with Yoel or come back with me?” Cynthia asked.
“I
to go back will you,” Joshua blurted out.
Yoel could not help but look at Joshua again. With Joshua being so clingy to Cynthia, he had reason to
suspect that Joshua was acting.
Chapter 561
2/2
After Cynthia saw his determined attitude, she asked Yoel questions before packing Joshua’s things
Yorl initially wanted to help, but seeing that there was nothing he could do, he sat beside Joshua and,
filled with curiosity, called out to him, “Mr. Neal.”
Joshua was surprised and asked, “Yes?
His eyes were much colder than when he was in front of Cynthia
Yoel naively tried to probe. “It’s just the two of us now. You don’t have to pretend. How long do you plan
to pretend to be a child and deceive Ms. Yates? Do you need my help with anything?
Joshua looked at him as if he were looking at a fool.
Cynthia said he used to be an adult and only turned into this after falling, ill.
However… would he really take this seemingly foolish person as his assistant?
“What’s wrong?” Yoel was puzzled by Joshua’s stare.
Although Joshua no longer had the imposing presence he once had, it still made Yoel feel a bit uneasy.
Joshua asked him, “Can you stay away from me?”
