Larissa did not completely believe what the nurse said.
Forget what the other case was, but there were witnesses who saw the kid in Aster’s class fall down
from the slide–Aster being one of
them. This could not be lake.
So. Larissa only smiled and thanked the nurse for her reminder. She then left the hospital with Aster.
On the way to the parking lot. Aster anxiously cleared things up. “Mommy, don’t listen to the bad things
the nurse said! Our teachers are all very good! They did not abuse us! Tommy really fell down the slide!
I was right behind him!
“I know.” Larissa patted Aster’s head. “Don’t worry, I won’t change schools for you.”
Aster relaxed.
The hospital was not really a good place for a healthy person to stay in for too long, so Larissa did not
let Wendy go in with her. Wendy
waited in the car.
Aster saw Wendy in the car, and he ran over while letting go of his mother’s hand. Aster opened the car
door and was about to jump onto Wendy when Larissa snapped. “Alastair Simmons! Stop!”
Aster stopped fearfully. He turned to stare at Larissa in confusion.
Larissa walked over quickly, took Aster’s hand, and threw him into the back seat of the car.
“You are already a big boy. You can’t just do what you want anymore.” Larissa scolded him with a stern
lace. “You’re quite heavy now. If you just jump onto Godma like that you will hurt her, do you know
that?”
Aster realized his mistake and apologized to Wendy with his head down. “Sorry, Godma. I will never do
that again.”
Wendy rubbed her stomach, frightened. But she was still kind and friendly to Aster. “Yeah, I forgive
you.”
Larissa eyed Wendy’s flat stomach before slamming the door shut. She went around the head of the
car to get into the driver’s seat.
Aster did not notice the heavy atmosphere in the car. He asked Wendy curiously. “Godma, did your
boyfriend go away already?”
Wendy’s smile froze. She forced herself to be calm as she replied, “No. Why do you ask?”
Aster was more confused. “If your boyfriend is not gone, how come you have time to come get me?”
Wendy turned around to grab Aster’s cheeks as she purposely asked through clenched teeth, “Oh, so I
can’t miss you then?”
Aster refused to accept her answer as he spoke out his own guess. “Is it because your boyfriend is too
busy with work, so he can’t stay
with you tonight?”
Wendy squished Aster’s face harder. “Stop being such a gossip at such a young age! Aren’t you
annoying
Aster shut up at once. He looked like he understood. Less than two minutes later, he asked again. “Are
we going out to eat today?”
Kevan had been gone five days. In these five days, Larissa insisted on buying groceries from the
supermarket after work to cook at home In order to maintain her “good mommy” image. This was to win
back Aster’s heart, which had long since gone over to Kevan.
Larissa’s cooking was not bad. But it was just that–not bad.
Aster’s taste had become very fussy due to Kevan’s Interference. He could not accept food that just
tasted “not bad,” but he could not say that. If he said that, Larissa would definitely get angry.
If Larissa got angry, then Kevan would get angry too. When Kevan gol angry, he would video call Aster
and scold him.
Aster knew that Kevan was very busy these days. Although they would sill video call every night, they
couldn’t chat long.
Aster did not want to take up Kevan’s time with such a small issue and affect his mood.
So, when the kid saw Wendy today, he was very happy. With Godma around, Aster thought that they
might go out to eat something good for a change.
However, Larissa firmly denied him. “No. We still have groceries from yesterday. I plan to make chicken
soup for: huge meal”
