When Larissa video called Kevan at night she mentioned how she was “red“.
Kevan asked her, “Do you want to come back? I’m already wrapping things up here. If you have
nothing else, you can check next week’s
fights.”
Seeing her hesitation, Kevan added, “I heard that Sharon introduced more clients to you. If it’s to talk
business, it’s much better to do it in
person.” His temptation was obvious.
“Tll discuss it with my cousin and see if I can go back to Caldor next week. He wanted me to go back
and establish a Caldorian Blue Star branch company anyway. It’s just that the company’s having some
internal issues right now, so he can’t send people with me.” Larissa knew that she could not do
anything by herself, but she could go back and analyze things, like pinning down the office address and
taking care of the necessary hardware first
“Alright.” Kevan smiled softly at her. “I wait for you to come back”
Larissa’s face tumed red immediately. “Is Aster okay?” She changed the subject.
When Aster left he brought his own phone. Larissa had missed him and video–called him, But Anthony
and Violet were always with Aster. so Larissa could not really ask things like if Aster was okay and if he
missed Mommy. This was to prevent Kevan’s parents from overthinking.
“He’s alright.” Kevan had been busy these few days, so he had not really contacted Aster either. He
could only take out half an hour’s time to call Aster every two days.
His mother would frequently send pictures or videos of Aster through WhatsApp though, to “report”
about Aster’s situation. From his
mother’s words, it was not hard to see that Aster was getting used to fe at the Rogers‘ villa, and he was
getting along better and better
with the elderly couple
His parents were always praising Aster too. They treated him like he was their own biological
grandchild–even though Aster was their
biological grandchild from the start
“My mom asked me two days ago if Aster should have a tutor.”
At Aster’s age. Kevan had already been forced by his grandfather to attend quite a good deal of
classes. His level of education could be said to be that of a sixth–grader in elementary school. But
precisely because Kevan had gone through such things, he did not want Aster to go through the same
thing.
Like Larissa. Kevan only wanted Aster to grow up happily and healthily.
Larissa frowned when she heard that. “I don’t think that’s necessary.”
Aster did not really learn much in Westonia’s kindergarten either. The teachers were mostly playing
with the kids. His life at the Rogers”
villa was similar, except he did not have so many classmates for company.
*Then I’ll refuse my mom later.” Kevan decided to stand with Larissa firmly–even though he knew how
his mother would “earnestly” advise and try to persuade him later.
Larissa knew that Kevan was busy, so she did not dare to waste too much of his time. “Well, I’m
hanging up. Take care.” She felt terrible when she saw the bags under his eyes that were growing
darker and darker,
“Sure.” Kevan waved at the camera. “See you next week.”
At 11:00 pm. Larissa could not sleep. She lay on the bed and played with her phone. Suddenly, she
heard the door opening outside. She was so scared that she jumped up from the bed at once and
nearly called the emergency number.
But she was not the only one in the house. So Larissa immediately informed Wendy to prevent
anything from happening to her.
Larissa tiptoed over to the door and locked it before video–calling Wendy in the guest room.
Wendy snapped at her without reason. “Larissa, are you crazy or what? Would walking over here kill
you or something?” entered the house.”
“Really?” Wendy was uncertain, but she still carefully locked her bedroom door.
