“What?” Marilyn covered her mouth in shock before asking “Why? Did you make a mistake at work?”
“I don’t fucking know.” Larissa laughed coldly. “Mr. Logan Junior only said that I had to go. He didn’t
give me any d
damned reason.”
“No way. You and Mr. Logan Junior are so close in private. How could he just make you leave without
reason? Marilyn bugardon Larissa’s hand. “Why don’t you go and talk to Mr. Lagan Junior properly and
ask why he fired you, then ask him to give you another
chance?”
“No need!” Larissa’s attitude was firm. “I’m fired, and that’s that! I don’t fucking care for this shitty
company anyway!” She jerked free of
Marilyn’s grasp and went back to her workplace to start packing.
Marilyn followed and asked, “Do you want to leave now? You don’t have any handover procedures?
“Mr. Logan Junior wants me gone from the company by today.” Larissa put all the little trinkets she had
in her drawer into her backpack. As for the big stull on the table, Larissa put the valuable ones together
while the invaluable ones were thrown into the trash bin.
“Can you find a box for me? Larissa asked Marlyn,
“Sure,” Marlyn said before she paused. She then confirmed with Larissa again. “You really want to
leave?”
“Yeah.” Larissa ripped her name card off her neck and slammed it down on the table. “There’s so many
job opportunities. Why should just string myself up on this rotten free?
“If it’s really impossible, I can still go back to Caldor and teach Aldovian or something. Less fuss, more
money, and I don’t need to deal with a psycho boss!”

Marilyn suddenly sobbed. There were tears in her eyes. She hugged Larissa and said emotionally, “I
don’t want you to go just barely managed to make a friend in the company ·

Larissa went through the resignation procedures before everyone got off work. She only said goodbye

with her box of belongings.
Gary arranged for a car to take Larissa home. Because it was sill early, she actually managed to eat
dinner with Wendy.
Wendy did not expect Larissa to come home so early. Seeing the large box Larissa was carrying.
Wendy joked, “Oho! Has Ms. Seymour
been fired?”
Larissa nodded and just hummed slowly in response
Wendy nearly choked on the pasta she had been munching on. She drank hall a glass of water before
she managed to swalow it all down,
*Really?” Wendy put down her spoon and fork and ran over to Larissa. She searched through the box–
it was indeed stuff that would be
placed in an office,
“You can’t have lost your power struggle with your cousin and gotten kicked out of the company by him,
right?” Within a short few seconds, Wendy had already created a crazy explanation.
Larissa just went along with Wendy’s words. “Yup. So. I plan to go back to Caldor to take refuge with
Kevan. Wanna come along?”
Wendy studied Larissa’s facial expressions for a very long time, but Larissa kept up the act and did not
allow her facade to crack
Finally, Wendy asked, “When do you want to go back?
“Once I’ve cleared up everything here. Within the next few days, I guess,” Larissa led smoothly.
