It took some time to drive back into the center from the airport. In the middle of It, Lewis met up with a
subordinate and told him to
low Larissa’s car away from the motel
When they reached Maple Hotel, it was already 3 am. There were no hotel guests in the lobby, only
uniformed hotel stall waiting for guests to show up
The doorman was about to help guide them kindly when Larissa waved him off and explained their
reasons for coming. I’m looking for your hotel’s Administrative Manager, Wendy.”
The smile on the doorman’s lace frone up as he backed away alertly. He anxiously caled for the lobby
manager to come.
As “oldies” al the hotel Industry, Larissa naturally had met the lobby manager quite a len limes. The
manager recognized Larissa and asked her. ‘What brings you here?”
“I’m looking for Wendy,” Larissa replied.
The lobby manager was aware of Larissa’s friendship with Wendy, so he helped Larissa get a room
card from the front desk. “Just head up. I don’t know if Wendy’s awake already or not though.”
Larissa jogged the whole way to Wendy’s room. Her andety was firmly there and did not disappear until
she was sure that Wendy was okay.
The room door opened, and the room was dark. The cardholder already had a room card, so Larissa
turned on the warm orange lights in the entryway that lit up the room.
The thick and scht carpet silenced Larissa’s footsteps, so her racing heartbeat and heavy breathing
were rather obvious in the quiet.
There was a human–shaped bulge under the middle of the big white bed. Larissa llbloed over and
managed to see Wendy’s lace using the weak light from the entryway.
Larissa stood by the side of the bed, shakily reaching out. Even though she knew she was being
paranoid. she sell carefully checked Wendy’s breathing.
Wendy’s breathing was light but drawn out. It clearly showed that she was line now. Larissa held her
chest and sat at the head of the bed. All the energy that had been supporting her all this time vanished
at once.
Kevan was guarding the door, When he heard nothing, he poked his head around the corner of the
entryway. is Wendy okay?”
“Well Larissa had no idea if Wendy was really okay. “She’s alive. Iquess.”
Kevan was struck silent by her answer. Then he asked, “Want to take Wendy away?”
“No.”
The hotel was sale enough. To “move” Wendy back home was only creating more trouble than reeded.
“Ill stay here with her.”
Lewis had sent Aster to Gary’s anyway. Larissa had no reason to rush home.
“Fine.” Keven did not object. ‘Till go downstairs and get another room. It’ll be next door to you. Just call
me if you need anything.”
Larissa pressed her lips together as she stared slently at Kevan with a complicated expression in her
eyes.
“What’s wrong? Kevan asked.
“Thank you.” Al of Larissa’s feelings ended up turning into these two words.
Kevan’s face darkened angrily though. “Ill give you another chance lo speak properly.”
Larissa frowned as she thought about it. Then, she slowly said, “5 Sony?”
Kevan’s lace grew even darker. He turned and tell wiroul saying anything.
