Chapter 1192 Sherry furrowed her brows, “I still have to clean up the table. I‘ll go up later.”
I
John narrowed his eyes while Shannon was stunned.
Celine was shocked that Sherry volunteered to clean the table.
Sherry‘s eyes glinted fiercely as she looked at the leftovers on the table.
John knew exactly
what she wanted. His gaze and tone turned cold and said, ‘“Come now, or you won‘t get anything to eat
later or tomorrow.”
Sherry clenched her teeth tightly to resist the urge to scold him. She then
said to Celine, “Celine, I‘ll clean the table later. Just go rest.”
Celine was stunned once again.
Shannon was also confused.
Sherry then walked to John and followed him to the study. She kept her distance from John as she relu
ctantly walked up the stairs.
Shannon was left at the dining table as a frosty look overtook her features.
Celine‘s eyes flickered and said immediately , “Madam,
I‘ll go keep an eye on her!”
“That won‘t be necessary. Tidy up. I‘ll go myself,” Shannon said as she stood up.
Celine thought of what Sherry had said earlier, so she suggested, “Madam, Sherry said she wanted to
clean the table, so why don‘t I accompany you and watch her together?”
Shannon glared at her. “Stop the nonsense and throw all the leftovers into the trash. Clean the table
immediately!”
If she was correct, Sherry was really after the leftovers on the table. She would rather throw them out to
the dogs than give them to Sherry.
Celine pouted. “Yes, madam.”
…
The moment Sherry stepped into the study, John started ordering her around.
“Bring me the sixth book on the second row of the rack.”
He sat down on the leather chair behind the desk
elegantly and stared at her.
Sherry inhaled deeply and brought the book to him. John started reading. His eyes eventually became
glued to the lines and lines of words, and he no longer ordered her around.
Sherry stood there, waiting.
Maybe because she had been standing for quite some time earlier, her legs and hip started
to become sore, especially where she had gotten injured. The ache started to make her legs hurt quite
badly.
Sherry glanced at him and noticed that he was concentrating on the book, so she slinked to the couch b
The soft leather
couch felt great when she sat down, but it was then that the door opened. Shannon came in with a cup o
when she saw Sherry on the couch.
Sherry immediately closed her eyes and pretended
to be dead. She just wanted to rest for a while instead of talking or arguing with her sister.
Shannon glared at her sister as she walked to
John. “I brought you tea. You‘ve been busy for the whole day. Here, have some.”
John smiled. “Thanks.”
He sipped on it and said, “It‘s good tea. I still have something to do. Why don‘t you go to bed first?”
Shannon said, “I don‘t have anything to do as well, so why don‘t I keep you company?”
John maintained his gentle smile. “You will only distract
me. Go back to the room and rest.”
