Suddenly, she was jolted awake by a burst of laughter.
She looked up, brightly alert. Everyone on the projection screen seemed to be casting looks in her

She nearly jumped and straightened herself immediately.
Liam glanced at her, then he said something to the people on the conference call in the same alien
language before signing off from the call.
The office suddenly grew quiet.
Caprice was no longer feeling groggy. She asked Liam apologetically, “Liam, am I interrupting
something?”
“No.” Liam rose from his seat and approached her. He went to the couch adjacent to hers and sat down

She remarked, “I slept well, but Piper was in a bad mood, so I had to stay up and look after her with
Freya, and we ended up sleeping quite late.”
Something stirred in Liam’s eyes.
