John ignored her and carried her into the house.

If she wanted to fool around with Mason, why would she have left after dinner?
However, John’s face remained gloomy even with her explanation. He continued to pinch her chin.
“Then, why did you go have dinner with him? Do you still like him? Seeing him again reignites the
ashes in your heart, am I right?”
As he spoke, his tone got colder.
Sherry started to quiver. She angrily pushed him and cried, “Are you out of your mind? There’s nothing
between us! What nonsense are you talking about?”
“Then, why did you have dinner with him? WHY?!” he suddenly raised his voice.
Sherry was startled, and her face turned pale.
She went silent for a while until he lowered his head and forced his dangerous gaze into her eyes.

“Can you calm down?” she said meekly with a hint of pleading.
John flickered his eyes. He stroked her face and asked, “You went out for dinner with a man that you
cheated on me with. How can I be calm?”
Sherry choked on her emotions momentarily before she said, “There’s nothing between us anymore! I
heard he’s returning to Westchester, so that was a farewell
dinner!”
The man chuckled coldly. “If there’s nothing between you and him, why the farewell dinner?”
