Chapter 1404

Caprice stomped and ran toward him. Her little figure ran quite fast, and in the blink of an eye, she ran

up to him and crashed into his arms.

Then, she knocked him to the ground with a thump.

John leaned back and fell into the snow.

Caprice was confused for a moment before she grinned and started to giggle. She was clearly

delighted.

Sherry watched all of this. She could not help but let out a snicker.

In the snow, the father and daughter who fell on the ground immediately turned their heads to look

over.

Sherry's expression changed, and she quickly turned her head and hid in a safe corridor.

Outside, in the snow, John carried Caprice up.

Caprice was still craning her next, looking in the direction where the laughter came from. When she did

not see anyone, she frowned and said, “Daddy, I heard someone laughing.”

John held her with one hand, put his glasses on with the other, and stood up with her in his arms. He

said, “Daddy heard it too."

The little girl muttered in confusion, “But I didn't see anyone there.”

"She was afraid we'd find out and ran away."

"Oh." The little girl's curiosity was limited, so she did not ask anymore. She looked at him bashfully.

"Daddy, did you get hurt? I didn't mean to knock into you."

John pinched her little face and smiled. “ Daddy is fine.”

The little girl looked slow and weak, but the impact when she collided with people was really not that

insignificant.

He wondered if it was because she had gotten fatter again.

He looked in the direction where Sherry stood and said to Caprice, “Caprice, you promised Daddy that

you'd only play for ten minutes. Time's up now. Are you going to go back inside with Daddy now?"

Caprice pursed her lips. "Okay."

"Good girl.” John hugged her tightly and walked into the hotel, heading in the direction of the banquet

hall.

His orderly footsteps passed outside the door of the safety exit where Sherry was hiding.

Sherry immediately released the breath she was holding.

After a while, when his footsteps were completely gone, she pushed open the door in front of her and

walked out.

The corridor was quiet.

The path went straight to John's banquet.

Sherry wanted to see Caprice, so she tugged the scarf up again and walked forward, pretending to be

a passerby.

The hotel was brightly lit and warm.

Soon, she walked to the entrance of the hall.

She stopped and turned her head to look inside. The hall was full of people who were chatting with

glasses of wine.

Sherry searched for a long time but could not find John and Caprice. Did they go somewhere else to

play?

"Looking for us, Sherry?"

In the silent air, a man's low and pleasant voice suddenly sounded.

Sherry froze and turned her head to see John, who was standing two meters to her left. He leaned

against the wall while holding Caprice.

His gold-rimmed glasses contrasted against his fair skin as he curled his lips, and the corners of his

eyes held a smile that could not be hidden.

However, that smile only made Sherry's body shiver.

She paled and immediately tried to run.

However, before she could take a step, several bodyguards suddenly emerged from the side and

surrounded her.

Judging by the situation, she had no way to run. She simply pulled off her scarf and revealed her face

to look at him.

John narrowed his eyes, but his lips were still curled into a smile.

Sherry also smiled at him. “Good evening, Master Stockton.”

"It's the liar." Caprice, who was sitting in his arms, suddenly raised her hand and pointed at Sherry.

Sherry’s heart clenched. She hurriedly looked at the child and said, “Caprice, I'm not a liar”
