Chapter 1352 Meanwhile, far away in Coastrock City, Sherry was having a phone call with Sylvia. It wa
s then that she received a notification from her mailbox.
The notification made the expression on her face change. “Syl, something came up. I have to go.” “Alri
ght. You get busy. I‘ll go out for a walk,” Sylvia said.
Sherry smiled. “Have fun.”
The call ended.
Sherry then clicked on the newly received mail and saw the picture John sent her.
It was Caprice quietly nibbling on the pink–
colored bread. The girl‘s pinkish cheek took up half of the screen, and the close–up shot even
showed off her long curly eyelashes.
Sherry gasped. She carefully stroked the cheek on the screen.
The girl‘s googly eyes stared blankly in front. She must be either carried away by the taste of
the bread or the thoughts in her mind. She looked absolutely quiet and obedient.
Sherry uncontrollably curled her lips and her expression
softened.
She set the picture as her wallpaper . Then, she put her phone aside and took the documents out of
her drawer. She flipped through the pages of the market research done on Glenchester with a serious l
ook.
She had to go back soon. If she continued to wander
off to other cities, her daughter would grow up without her.
The trip to the plains ended.
Sylvia, Ms. Kang, and Ms. Johnson arrived at an old city.
The old city was developed
into a tourist spot with the retention of its traditional and medieval structural designs.
Sylvia stayed in the hotel beside one of the famous tourist spots in the city.
She shared a separate room with Ms. Kang and Ms. Johnson, so she was able to have the call with Sh
erry alone in the room.
After the call with Sherry, she tapped on the chat group with her kids.
Isabel sent her several recent pictures of themselves.
Liam was as cool as ever. Flint’s picture looked funny, maybe because the boy had annoyed his sister
again, hence the comical face. Still, the funny face did not
conceal the adorableness of the boy. Isabel‘s own selfie had layers of filters on as she posed beautifully
.
Sylvia stared at the pictures for quite some time. She would be lying to herself if she claimed she did no
t miss them at all.
However, she still did not want to go back. The
man was still protecting his secretary and going back would only result in endless arguments.
Ding!
It was then that she received a text from Sebastian‘s number.
“I have transferred Shermaine somewhere else. She‘s no longer my secretary starting tomorrow.” Judgi
ng from the tone, Odell must have texted her using Sebastian‘s phone.
Sylvia‘s gaze shifted. Her fingers automatically hovered above the keyboard of her phone, but she hesit
ated.
Eventually, she put the phone aside. A while later, she received another text from Sebastian again.
“What are you doing?” It was from Odell again.
Sylvia refused to reply, but before she could put the phone down, she received a call.
It was him.
Sylvia pursed her lips and reluctantly answered the phone.
The man‘s charming voice echoed in her ears. “Did you see my texts?”
“I saw them. So what?”
“Why didn‘t you reply?” He sounded annoyed.
“I don’t want to.”
The conversation entered an awkward silence.
A few seconds later, he said, “When are you coming back?”
Sylvia‘s eyes flickered. She thought he would at least raise his voice at her or blame her
for being irresponsible.
