Chapter 474

Tara wept. “Odell, are you in love with another woman?”

Odell shut his eyes in annoyance.

If Tara had not accompanied him in his darkest times, lie would have called security to throw her out of

the office.

Luckily, he suppressed his irritation and explained, “No. The things on the internet are all fake. I’m not

interested in some dancer.” “Then, why won’t you be with me? You have no idea how ugly things are

online. Many dignitaries and influential figures of Westchester have even started to mock you and

laugh at you. If we get together again, we will be able to clear all the rumors and scandals.”

Odell’s frosty look remained. “I don’t care about all those, and you don’t have to either.”

Cliff was already dealing with the situation. If he could just leave it for a few more days, the heat would

cool down and people would eventually forget about it.

Tara froze. She had purposely dressed herself up and cried her lungs out, vet lic showed no intention of

being with her.

Could it be that lie no longer wanted to be with her? Or had be really fallen for some other woman?

The thoughts fueled Tara’s anxiety.

A while later, she feebly got to her feet and said in a gravelly voice, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to disturb

you, Odell.” She then beaded towards the door. She wobbled with each step, and right before she

stepped out of the door, she fell to the side.

Odell noticed her unusual reaction from the moment she got up, so when she finally fell, he ran to her

and caught her. He saw her teary eyes and pale face which worried him. “Tara? Tara?

Tara merely lay limp in his arms feebly.

Odell carried her out of the office.

Back in Sylvia’s room in Lush Heaven, she was carving wlien Sherry came in. Sherry immediately said,

“Syl, you’re right! I sent someone to follow Tara, and she went to Carter Tower early in the morning to

see Odell. A while later, Odell carried her out of the building, and she seemed to be unconscious. I

wonder why she passed out.” Sylvia grinned. “I’m pretty sure she faked it.” “How do you know?”

Sylvia understood Tara’s tricks better than anyone. “She should have seen the news online

and suspected that Odell has fallen for another woman, so she probably faked it to earn his attention.”

“Tsk, tsk. And here I was wondering why she passed out. So, what should we do next?” Sherry asked.

“Nothing. We just have to wait for Odell to agree to marry her.”

Sherry was surprised. “What? Why?”

Sylvia calmly said, “She spent a lot of effort just to erase me from the picture and played the role of

best caretaker to take care of Grandmother for four months now, but the news of Odell chasing another

woman in the nightclub surely fueled her anxiety. She must be anxious now. Only marrying Odell will

calm her down and rest her mind.”

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Tara was transferred to a VIP ward after being discharged from the ER. She

was sleeping on the sickbed. The doctor said to the man beside her, “Master Carter, reports show that

Ms. Avery is physically healthy, but the shock that she received must have taken a toll on her weak

body. Don’t worry, she’ll wake up soon.” Odell eased his furrowed brows and hummed a reply.

The doctor then went out. Odell had a glance at his watch and saw that it was almost noon.
