Chapter 1391
Mr. Sanders walked Sherry to the entrance.
The parking lot of the nightclub was connected to the parking lot of the building next door.
Upon entering her car, Sherry could not resist the temptation to steal a look at the club next door.
It seemed rather tranquil outside the club. It was apparent from one glance that it was a very classy
and high-profile venue.
John was probably here to socialize with his business
partners.
Sherry could feel her heart thumping rapidly when she recalled the sight of Caprice wrapped tightly
inside John’s
arms.
Two years.
The child was now over two years old.
Although Sylvia would send her pictures of Caprice from time to time, this was the first time she
managed to get a closer look at her even if it was from a distance.
She wondered if Caprice was just as adorable as she looked in the pictures.
“Miss, would you like to go back to the hotel?” The driver
prompted.
“Not yet.”
She said as she promptly took out her phone and looked up information about the clubhouse online.
Just as she expected, the clubhouse was indeed the most reputable high-end clubhouse one could find
in
Glanchester. It was the prime venue for entertainment for the richest class in the city.
John was probably here for a mixture of work and entertainment.
After a short consideration, she grabbed a scarf and wrapped it around herself to cover up most of her
face, then she got out of the car and walked into the clubhouse.
The club was very exclusive and only accepted members. into its premises.
Sherry managed to apply for a premium membership. She then spent some time chatting with the
receptionist to pry whatever information she could. She managed to find out the general area where
John could be found.
John should be inside one of the lounges on the third
floor at this moment.
She took the elevator to the third floor and as soon as she
walked out of the elevator, she noticed two muscular bodyguards further down the corridor standing by
the entrance to a certain lounge.
They were John’s bodyguards.
She cautiously pulled the scarf up to her nose and shoved her hands in her pockets before walking
down the
corridor.
She went to the room adjacent to John’s and pushed the door open.
It was a lounge as well.
The waiter was dressed in a vintage fashion and
immediately went up to greet Sherry upon her entry, Ma’am, what would you like to drink?”
Sherry answered, “Anything to calm the nerves.”
The waiter promptly supplied her with a pot of fragrant
tea.
||
After the tea was served, Sherry promptly instructed the waiter, “Thank you, why don’t you head
outside? I’d like some time alone.”
“Alright.” The waiter did not ask any further questions and proceeded to head outside, making sure to
close the door on his way out.
The lounge was immediately filled with an eerie silence.
Sherry got up and walked to the window.
There was a balcony connected to the lounge. Upon closer inspection, it would appear that the two
lounges shared
the same balcony. The only thing partitioning the balcony into two was a short fence installed in the
middle.
It was as if God was on her side.
She took a deep breath and threw off her scarf and overcoat that only served to constrict her
movements.
Then, she pulled herself up the fence and landed on the other side.
The moment she planted her feet firmly on the ground, she saw a tiny figure only a short distance from
her.
She froze.
Her eyes were fixed intently on the girl.
The girl was only a toddler, so short that she barely could reach Sherry’s knees. It was no surprise that
Sherry did not notice her at all before scaling the fence since the girl was barely half the height of the
fence.
The child would never expect someone to lunge through the fence and appear out of nowhere. She
gazed at Sherry with her eyes widened and her cheeks puffed up like clouds.
She held an ice cream in her hands that she was still not finished with and wore a confused look on her
face.
