Chapter 1236 The next morning, Sherry woke up to John‘s absence.
He left nothing behind, not even his warmth on the bed. It was as though he never came last night.
Sherry got out of bed and opened the window. The morning sun warmed her body up as she stretched
to get rid of the sleepiness.
It was then that she caught a glimpse of a figure standing behind the tree outside the employees‘ quart
ers. She squinted to have a better look and saw Celine.
Celine signaled her with an ‘okay‘ sign before leaving.
Sherry subtly pulled her gaze away and looked downstairs. The two bodyguards were still on duty.
She then closed the window and returned to the room.
It seemed like Shannon had arranged for Celine to support her in the escape plan later. She just neede
d to wait until night fell.
The day went by in a blink of an eye.
After the sun set over the horizon, Sherry drew the curtains and sat on the bed.
A while later, the door opened and Tanya came in with dinner and placed it on the table.
“Ms. Fowler.” She nodded and then walked to the door.
Right when she turned around, Sherry bolted up and knocked her out from behind using
a wooden stick. After the heavy thud, Tanya lost her balance and fell unconscious.
Sherry quickly grabbed her and put her on the bed. “I‘m sorry. If we meet again someday, I‘ll be sure to
make it up to you.”
She swiftly undressed her and put on her maid uniform. She tied her
hair similarly to Tanya‘s and even mimicked her usual composure and demeanor.
When she was ready, she lowered her head and headed to the door.
The two bodyguards were still standing outside the door.
Sherry strode out as fast as she could. She was already
two steps ahead when the bodyguards turned to face her. They failed to see her face properly and only
saw her cowardly figure shuffling out.
One of the bodyguards
called out to her, “What took you so long today?” The door was open, so the other bodyguard
had a peek inside.
He saw a figure sleeping
underneath the sheets, assuming that it was Sherry. His guard was lowered as he closed the door. He th

“Quit it. If it‘s not for her, we wouldn‘t have gotten this easy job either.”
Their chatting soon faded from her ears as she walked out of the employees‘ quarters undetected. Ther
quarters, which made it difficult for anyone to have a clear look at one‘s
face.
She maintained her pace and walked past the two bodyguards at the gate.
