Chapter 1211 Mason extracted an envelope from his pocket, “Here are ten cheques, they total up to
eight hundred million. Give it to John, it’s your ticket out of this place.”
Sherry was visibly affected upon seeing this.
To think that Shannon would go to Mason to ask for the money after failing to get it from Janine.
She sure was resourceful!
It seemed like Mason had foreseen Sherry refusing to take the money. He smiled softly and explained,
“Sherry, I know that the reason you ended up in this situation is because of our two families. If not for
you trying to persuade John to pour money into our foundations , we would become history in
Glanchester long ago. Look, we’ve made a significant amount of returns over the last year and it is only
right that we repay our debt to you.”
Sherry grimaced and stayed silent.
Mason made a good point, the Fowlers and the Browns did owe a debt to her. However, it also had to
be stated that eight hundred million was not a trivial amount of money. Even if the debt had to be
repaid, it should not only come from Mason’s pocket, the Fowlers should play a part in settling the debt
as well.
“Sherry, if you don’t take this money, I’ll feel guilty for the rest of my life.” Mason sighed and
expressed,“ Besides, are you going to stay here and work for him for the rest of your life?”
Of course Sherry did not want that.
After a few seconds of silence, she decided, “Alright, I’ll consider this a loan from you, I’ll pay it back in
the future.” 2
Mason expressed with a smile, “Come on, there’s no need to be so formal with me.”
Sherry frowned, “If you don’t see it as a loan, then I’m not going to take it.”
Mason hurriedly agreed to her terms, “Alright , alright, it’s a loan. You can pay it back if you have the
money and if you don’t, it’s alright.”
Sherry was materialistic and was not one to turn down a freebie, but she still had standards of her own
to uphold
She intended to pay it back to Mason in time, otherwise, things would never get resolved properly
between them.
She took the envelope and thanked him with a smile , “. Thank you, I’ll take the money then.”
Mason smiled back at her, “You’re welcome , when are
you going to pay the money back to John?”
“As soon as he comes back.”
“Okay, just let me know after it’s settled , I’ll come pick you up.”
“It’s alright, I’ll find some way out of there.”
“Look, I know that John is not known for being predictable , I’m just worried he’s not going to willingly
let you go even after you settle the debt. It’ll be dangerous if you have to deal with him by yourself, let
me come pick you up.” He smiled radiantly, “Don’t worry, I will take you to the airport first thing after I
pick you up. You can go wherever you want after that, I won’t stop
you.”
Sherry seemed rather moved by his offer and smiled at him sincerely, “Okay, thanks again, Mason.”
Mason looked at her with a gentle look in his eyes,” You’re welcome.”
Creak.
Suddenly, they heard the creak of the door slowly opening. “Clap clap…”
It was soon followed by the sounds of hands clapping.
Sherry was startled by this and immediately turned to look.
It was John. Tall and intimidating as ever, his threatening figure stepped past the doorway.
He was clapping while wearing a stoic smile. It was only the shape of a smile that formed on his lips, it
never reached his eyes. He was regarding them with a dangerous look.
Sherry felt herself turning pale, her body began to tremble against her will. Mason promptly stepped in
front of her to protect her. He looked at John and asked with a deep frown, “Master Stockton, what
brings you here?”
John ignored him and looked directly at Sherry with a smile, “Sherry, you’re more capable than I
thought you were. To think that some fool would be reckless enough to pawn off all his assets and
spend every cent they have on you.” Sherry took a deep breath.
Before she could utter a word, John howled with laughter and continued, “Oh, I almost forgot, didn’t you
dump me for him back then? Then again, you also sacrificed yourself and willingly played the part of
being my lover so that you could bail him and your family out of that terrible financial crisis. It’s only
right that he should return the favor.”
Mason’s eyes widened, “What did you say? She was your
lover for a year?”
“Yeah, we were together until the night before my wedding.” He smirked audaciously and asked in a
provoking tone, “What? Didn’t she tell you about it?”
Mason turned around and looked at Sherry with hatred in his eyes.
