Chase hummed lightly as he turned his gaze toward Belinda. “Belinda, a lady should not be easily
trifled with in the outside world. Give him a taste of his own medicine!”
As he spoke, his eyes dropped to the glass of orange juice next to Belinda. His intent was as clear as
day.
Belinda understood Chase’s meaning, and having long grown tired of Dominic, abandoned her ladylike
demeanor. She removed the straw from her glass, picked up the orange juice, and splashed it onto
Dominic’s face.
Splash!
Dominic had no time to react. In an instant, he found himself drenched in sticky juice. His expensive
suit, donned specifically for the blind date, was ruined.
His temper flared immediately, and his hand lifted. “You little…”
Chase cleared his throat. “Show some respect to women!”
Dominic froze mid-motion, the insult dying on his lips.
He could afford no mishaps. He couldn’t risk losing his hard-earned job at a reputable company.
Forcing a smile onto his face, he said, “Ms. Wesley, if this makes you feel better, I accept it.”
Then he turned to Chase. “Mr. Larios, am I not showing respect to women now?”
Chase barely glanced at him. “You can leave now.”
Dominic anxiously whispered, “So, can I start at Crescent Society tomorrow?”
Chase nodded. “Yes.”
Relieved, Dominic smiled and shot Belinda a spiteful gaze. “Then, Mr. Larios, I’ll take my leave. I
wouldn’t want to impose.”
After watching Dominic stride away, Belinda frowned at Chase. “Why would you let someone like him
work at the company? He clearly doesn’t respect women!”
A soft smile surfaced in Chase’s eyes. “Of course I know that.”
Belinda was puzzled. “Then why did you allow him to join the company?”
Chase gently drummed on her disgruntled face. “He bullied you. Dousing him in juice won’t cut it. At the
company, I’ll have plenty of time to deal with him.” Belinda blushed and avoided Chase’s gaze. “He was
just rude. It’s nothing serious. Besides…
Chase leaned in, whispering, “Besides what?”
His proximity and warm breath on her ear turned her entire face crimson.
“Besides, him bullying me has nothing to do with you.” Belinda avoided his gaze, hiding her blush.
However, Chase rested his chin on her shoulder, his tone suggestive. “Who said it has nothing to do
with me? I can’t stand, nor tolerate anyone bullying you!”
Feeling the sudden weight on her shoulder, Belinda exclaimed, “Ah! You…you…you…sit on the other
side! It’s very…hot!”.
Chase lifted his chin and chuckled. “The restaurant’s air-conditioned. Why are you hot? Is it because of
my closeness?”
His tone carried a certain implication.
Belinda’s face grew even redder as she turned towards him. “Stop talking nonsense, or I’ll get mad
