Ivy really didn’t want to cause a scene outside the Harris Group building, but Clara left her no choice.
She pushed Clara down to the ground and pressed on her body. “Clara, did you really think I’d keep
playing nice like I used to? I’m warning you, stay out of my way!”
A security guard hurried over to break them up, and Ivy, not wanting to be a bother, let go of Clara and
stood up, dusting off her clothes.
Clara cared most about her looks, spending tons of time and money on them. Now, her first demand,
once freed from Ivy’s grip, was for a mirror.
“I need a mirror, a mirror!”
Without one handy, Clara scrambled to the reflective glass of the office’s front door. She shrieked at the
sight of three red marks across her cheek. “Ah! My face! My face! Ivy, you wretch, I won’t let you off for
this!”
Ivy started towards her again.
Clara, knowing she was no match, backed away, fear creeping into her voice, “Ivy, what are you going
to do?”
“Nothing.” Ivy’s face was expressionless as she pulled out her phone. “Ever since you set me up that
time, I started recording our conversations. So, when you went into the interview room earlier, I
recorded everything.”
Clara’s face twisted with rage at the sight of Ivy’s phone. “Ivy, what the hell do you want?”
“I scratched your face today because you pushed me to it, and take it as a lesson. You’ll just have to
deal with it and keep quiet. Otherwise, I’ll sue you for slander! Everyone heard you accusing me of
being a mistress without proof. You’ll lose in court! And when you do, I’ll make sure everyone in the
show biz knows about it.”
Clara’s eyes widened in shock. She had confidently accused Ivy of being a mistress in front of the
interviewers, yet she had no evidence. If Ivy really did sue, Clara was sure to lose.
“Alright, I’ve got better things to do than waste my time here.” Ivy couldn’t be bothered to say more and
turned to leave,
Clara could only glare at Ivy’s retreating back, swallowing the bitter pill of defeat.
As she prepared to leave, she turned and saw Nolan, the newly appointed CEO of the Harris Group.
He had just arrived and had witnessed the entire drama from his car.
Nolan was surprised. The usually quiet Ivy had shown a formidable side today, which was a stark
contrast to the Ivy he thought he knew. This new, fiery Ivy seemed more alive and more real.
“Mr. Harris, I apologize for my sister’s behavior. She’s always been like this, bullying me since we were
kids. I’m used to it, but I’m sorry you had to see that,” Clara approached Nolan, covering her scratched
face in a pitiful attempt to garner sympathy..
Nolan glanced at Clara with disdain and took a step back. “I saw what happened. Clara, with your face
injured like that, it’s not suitable for our upcoming shoot. You should go home and rest. We’ll find
another actress for the campaign.”
“What?” Clara was aghast, “Mr. Harris, we’ve signed a contract. You can’t just replace me!”
Nolan remained unfazed, “Can you still shoot our commercials with your face like this? Failing to
protect your own image is a breach of contract, which makes it invalid. Security, please escort Clara
out.”
“Mr. Harris, no! It’ll heal quickly. Makeup can cover it, and we can edit it out. Mr. Harris! Please don’t…”
But Clara’s pleas were in vain. The security officers promptly escorted them out.
