“Why is it always Giselle showing up with treats? Shouldn’t Ivy be the one to foot the bill?” Some of
crew huddled in the corner, whispering just loud enough for their words to float over the set.
“She probably think we’re not worth her time or money. Not everyone’s like Giselle, treating us with
respect and all that jazz:” “But you can’t expect your bestie to always pay your bill, can you? That’s not
cool at all.”
“Tsk, tsk, you can say that again.”
Giselle was no stranger to this film set.
Whether she was swinging by with lattes or delivering assorted cupcakes from that trendy bakery
downtown, she had a way of winning hearts without even trying.
The crew ate it up, showering Giselle with praise. While Ivy, the supposed leading lady, garnered much
less enthusiasm.
Ivy couldn’t care less. Acting was just a paycheck to her, albeit one she enjoyed more than other jobs.
Pouring energy into schmoozing with folks she’d likely never see again after wrap-up wasn’t her style.
If Giselle enjoyed playing the generous hostess, so be it. Ivy wasn’t bothered.
After checking her call sheet, Ivy changed into fresh clothes and curled up in her chair, diving into the
next act of the script, letting the world fade away.
But Giselle couldn’t stand any longer with Ivy’s indifference, especially after she had spent so much for
her show.
One crew member in particular, with an appetite as large as his laughter, had gone back for thirds on
the pastries. Was he starving or what?
Giselle watched him devour the treats with a mix of distaste and feigned concern. “You got enough
there? You look like you’ve been famished for days! Isn’t the craft services enough? Take it easy, don’t
choke-”
As if on cue, the crew member started coughing, and Giselle stepped back, playing the caring co-star.
“Oh dear! Be careful there. Have some coffee. There’s plenty more, don’t worry!”
Once he caught his breath, the crew member offered a sheepish, grateful smile. “Sorry about that,
Giselle. Had a real all-nighter, haven’t eaten since. I was starving.”
As Giselle nodded along, she offered some advice, “Gotta take care of yourself, you know? No job’s
worth skipping meals over.”
“You’re into wellness, Giselle?”
She giggled behind her hand, “Just some things you pick up along the way.”
Drifting over to Ivy, she leaned in close and whispered as if they shared the deepest of bonds.
“You know, Ivy and I had a mutual friend with a sensitive stomach, so I picked up a few health tips.
Young folks often neglect their health. Please look after Ivy for me, okay? She’s new to the scene and
might forget to eat with all the nerves. We wouldn’t want her getting sick.”
The crew couldn’t help but admire the display of friendship, openly wondering how a newbie like Ivy
landed such luck. Cool and distant, Ivy didn’t even bother with pleasantries, yet she had Giselle to pave
her way. Life seemed sweet for her.
Yet, Ivy just found it amusing. Giselle’s performance was almost too convincing.
Ivy’s smirk was lost on Giselle, who took it as a jab. It felt like her efforts to rile Ivy up were as effective
as punching a pillow.
