hopes.
“You’re not hearing things. Your dad’s really here.”
“Victoria.” Elton called again, and this time Victoria’s eyes welled up with tears.
“Dad, how did you get here? Are you going to get us out?”
The other kidnappers, overhearing this heartfelt reunion, chuckled at the doorway.
“Feeling shy now, are we? Your dad’s just come to keep you company. You both might as well get
comfy in this dump!”
As the door clicked shut, silence fell over the room again.“Dad, how did you end up here? What’s going on?” Victoria asked, her eyes still covered, unable to
pinpoint Elton’s location, her gaze following his voice.
“Sweetheart, tell me how you are first. Did they hurt you?” Elton asked, his voice filled with
concern.
