When Austin saw the Sumeru Mountain, he already felt that it was like a huge sacred weapon since it

was a boundless source of the power of faith. In fact, no law could cause any damage to it. As the

monks solely relied on the mountain, they were very difficult to deal with because of their seemingly

unlimited supply of energy.

'Never did I expect that such a group of powerful masters would actually exist on Earth.

With them here, I don't think that Earth would even need me to protect it.

I don't think anyone would be able to harm this planet in this case.

Even if Humphrey came, I'm sure that he couldn't defeat all of these eighteen Arhats, let alone the

middle-aged monk."

Austin smiled as he lightly shook his head.

However, he was not the type to give up that easily.

After all, he wanted to see the extent of the power of the Eighteen Arhats, as well as the theurgies that

they were capable of.

"Let's continue!"

After being forced back, Austin quickly composed himself and launched another barrage of attacks.

"Humph!

Demon, you're too stubborn!

Didn't we tell you that you don't belong here? I advise you to get rid of your obsessions and leave this

place as soon as possible.

The land of Buddhism tolerates no desecration," the monk with white eyebrows snapped at Austin.

It seemed that he was the leader of the Eighteen Arhats, and he indeed possessed tremendous

strength.

"You don't have the right to turn me away and it's not your choice to decide whether I am a demon or a

Buddha!

I have every right to climb this mountain!

Now, get out of my way before you regret your decision to mess with me!"

Austin shouted coldly, full of determination to face all of these powerful warriors. He brandished his

blade in his hand and rushed forth without any hesitation.

"Know your place!"

One by one, the Eighteen Arhats released a blinding Buddhist light and charged towards Austin from

different directions.

"Amitabha! I can't believe that someone full of hostility exists in this world! Cultivate your mind and let

go of all your selfish desires.

Maybe then, your soul might still be saved," the middle-aged monk shook his head as he stared at

Austin. He stood in front of the door of the ancient temple and clasped his hands together.

"Hey, you! Stop talking such nonsense!

You better be prepared because my father's going to take all of you down!"

Julian shouted at the middle-aged monk out of annoyance.

However, as the middle-aged monk turned to look at Julian, he was a bit taken aback.

"I can't believe that someone could possess such a divine body in this world."

Instead of getting angry, the middle-aged monk looked at Julian with unexplainable kindness.

"Little boy, why don't you come here and talk with me?

It's all right. I won't harm you," the middle-aged monk suddenly said as he invited the young boy over.

"What? Of course not.

I don't need to talk with a bad guy."

Like the young boy that he was, Julian made a face at the middle-aged monk as a sign of disapproval.

Hearing this, the middle-aged monk couldn't help but smile bitterly.

"Amitabha! You're mistaken, boy. I'm not a bad guy.

I just want to talk with you.

There's nothing to worry about," the middle-aged monk still insisted.

"No! I don't believe you.

Of course, you're the bad guys. You're trying to hurt my father," Julian retorted as he stepped back

cautiously.

"All right then."

The middle-aged monk gently backed off.

Meanwhile, Austin was locked in on a fierce battle against the Eighteen Arhats.

"You, demon! Since you're stubborn enough to bring chaos into our mountain, you should be punished

by being trapped here forever!"

one of the Arhats shouted out of exasperation.

"Ha-ha! Do you think you can actually do that? You're delusional!"

Austin answered back while laughing maniacally.

With Austin's current strength, he could do almost anything he wanted.

Even if these Arhats were pretty strong and this Buddhist mountain was superb, he didn't believe that

he could be restrained by them.

"Energy of reincarnation!"

Then, Austin used the law of reincarnation. Out of nowhere, surging energy of reincarnation was

released from his body and instantly enveloped the entire Sumeru Mountain.

At the same time, Austin also used the Reincarnation Sword Skill.

Streaks of dazzling sword-light infused with the energy of reincarnation appeared on the Sumeru

Mountain as if they were divine columns that slashed randomly.

"This is inconceivable! What a powerful display of the energy of reincarnation!"

Even the middle-aged monk couldn't help but sigh.

"Stop struggling, demon! You can't do anything to avoid your impending doom!"

An Arhat waved his hand, and a bowl suddenly flew out. Then, it continuously grew bigger, covering the

sky. An immense pressure of Buddhist energy permeated the air in an attempt to suppress Austin.

Clang! Clang!

In a flash, the sword-light clashed with the bowl and slashed it away.

Seeing that his attack was rendered useless, the Arhat with white brows roared in frustration.

Then, his two long snow-white eyebrows elongated and rushed towards Austin like two vicious

serpents

On the other hand, Austin just raised his blade and directly slashed the white eyebrows into halves.

"Hmm. The law of reincarnation seems to work pretty well on these Arhats!

It seems like they don't have anything to counter it," Austin observed.

'These Arhats and the middle-aged monk must be from another era.

It's most likely that they're from the distant past.

However, they lived up to this point and experienced a lot of other eras. They must have been tainted

with the reincarnation aura that they could be utterly restrained by the law of reincarnation.

Therefore, if there is anything that could effectively bring them down, it is the law of reincarnation,'

Austin thought to himself as he analyzed what was happening.

Boom! Boom!

In an attempt to simultaneously handle all these Arhats, Austin used his most powerful attack that

utilized the law of reincarnation. In an instant, all of them were sent flying in the air.

"You should know this by now. You are not a match for this man.

He seemed to belong to the reincarnation race, which is too bad for us.

After all, the law of reincarnation could easily suppress us."

The middle-aged monk hurriedly sent a message to his comrades to warn them.

"I actually don't care.

Even if he belongs to some prominent race, he still needs to be eradicated!

Eight branches of pilgrims! Come out and lend us your power to defeat this demon!"

the Arhat with white brows roared furiously.

All of a sudden…

Boom! Boom!

A deafening sound blasted off from behind the Eighteen Arhats.

An illusory gate emerged on the mountain as if it was being connected to another world. From it,

ferocious roars could be heard as a group of fierce beasts rushed to the gate, spreading their dreadful

aura.

"Eight branches! Please suppress the demon in our midst!"

the Arhat with white brows screamed at the top of his lungs.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Groups of strong creatures rushed out of the gate one after another, and all of them possessed quite

strange appearances. All types of creatures from various races were present—pythons, Yakshas,

demons, golden-winged birds, and many others.

It wasn't an exaggeration to say that all of them had savage and mysterious auras.

"Did he say eight branches?

Is he referring to the legendary eight branches of pilgrims?"

As Austin realized this, his expression dramatically changed. It was said that they were a group of

powerful creatures with the specific purpose of guarding Buddha. It just meant that they were

exceptional warriors.

According to the records in the Buddhist scriptures, the eight branches of pilgrims were mysterious and

mighty races that became guardians after aligning their belief to Buddhism.

'Come on. They have such a powerful trump card like this?

According to what I know, the eight branches of pilgrims are strong masters of the ancient race who

were against Buddha at first. But then later, they became devoted believers of Buddhism and were

assigned to be their watchdogs.

Once trouble occurs, there is actually no need for powerful monks to show themselves. These groups

can already handle anything. If they gather together, the power that they can produce is pretty massive.

Thus, with them, this place would always be peaceful and prosperous!'

Just thinking about it made Austin heave a deep sigh.

"Oh well, this is a rare opportunity, so I might as well test what these eight branches of pilgrims are

made of."

Even though he realized that he could be at a disadvantage, he still didn't back down.

As he raised his blade in his hand, his enormous fighting spirit gushed out and enveloped him.

"Come on! Protect Buddha and restrain the demons!"

At this point, the creatures of the eight branches of pilgrims just glared and roared at Austin, who had

the guts to face all of them.

Although the group of creatures was also under Buddhism, they didn't show any kindness in their eyes.

Instead, they exerted their murderous will.
