So Torn
Jordy looked at him with cold eyes and asked, “Why are you following me?”
Harold was stupefied.
Shouldn‘t he?
Soon, he realized something and said in a helpless tone, “Okay, I‘ll wait here.”
Jordy glanced at the woman who hadn‘t noticed his presence and continued his way inside.
As for Harold...
He went to the corner. His eyes were thick with frustration.
His boss was getting more and more like a double–dealer.
Jordy needed him today but forbade him to go. He knew that he was left there to take care of Gloria.
Jordy said no but gave away his real thought.
Without a choice, Harold watched from the side.
Gloria‘s attention had been on Corey the entire time. She was unaware of what happened between
Jordy and Harold.
She stared at Corey and asked with a calm look, “Could you let Kristina‘s son go?”
Ciney narrowed his eyes and asked back, “Is this all that you ask?”
Gilera oled “Yo‘, thien wel “V09.”
Corey guinneal with a hint of sarcasm in his eyes. “How so?”
Contusion tinted her eyes,
“What... do you mean?”
Corey glanced at her and said, “Your father helped me a lot while Kristina‘s son is dispensable, so
we‘re not even. I don‘t like to owe people anything, and you can turn to me again when you need my
help.”
Gloria gave him a surprised look. This man was different from what he was rumored to be like.
Corey seemed to notice her doubt but remained calm. “Anything else?”
Gloria measured him with curious eyes. “You won‘t verify my identity?”
“Nope.” Corey looked away. He had lost interest in continuing their conversation.
Since he had agreed, Gloria nodded and said, “Thanks.”
Corey gave no response. Gloria got up and left.
Those all around were confounded. They hadn‘t expected Gloria to stay with the man for so long
What was even more surprising was that Corey‘s attitude to her was different.
“What‘s so special about that woman? Do they know each other?”
“If they did, he wouldn‘t have put his hand on the dagger after she sat down. He was trying to drive her
away.”
The crowd whispered to each other. Harold stayed there and saw that Corey had no intention of
leaving. Only then did he get up.
When he just arrived at the elevator door, Jordy was seen coming out.
Harold was surprised. “Mr. Collins? You finished your business so soon?”
Jordy frowned and looked outside over his shoulder.
Harold cleared his throat and said, “Miss White has left.”
He froze and asked, “Where is he?”
“Still in the bar.”
Jordy‘s brows furrowed, and his face darkened.
He turned around and went back to the elevator.
Aware of his annoyance, Harold followed behind him.
Jordy went back to the box.
Harold conversed with those inside and learned that Jordy had come out earlier on the pretext of using
the bathroom.
Harold was speechless.
Jordy couldn‘t get over Gloria. He was so torn.
Since he was worried about her, he should have gone to protect her. Why bother finding himself all
kinds of excuses?
While Harold was lost in thought, Jordy turned to look at him.
