with self–mockery, her tone very serious.
Gloria didn’t express her opinions.
Rachel continued, “Don’t overthink it. I won’t be deceived by Angela or do anything against you.”
Gloria replied faintly, “OK.”

Rachel was not surprised at Gloria’s indifference, but continued, “The second is to talk about an
opportunity for us to work together. I’ll send you a business proposal. If you are interested, how about
having a local field trip?”
“A local field trip?”

came.
Rachel smiled. “I can’t betray your trust then. Well, our cooperation ahead won’t let you down.”
