Who Will Be Harmed?
Gloria never disliked keeping things ambiguous or making anyone her “rebound guy” because it was
immoral.
“OK, I see.” Jonathan smiled softly. He didn‘t feel any discomfort at all but was even happy about her
words.
She used to call him Mr. Brown, but this time, she had called him by his name. No matter whether it
was because of her guilt or any other reason, he was very satisfied.
Gloria frowned slightly, not knowing what he was thinking. But his reply was very clear. If she continued
to emphasize it, she would look high–maintenance.
So, she changed the topic and said calmly, “As for the new cooperative project plan, I will send it to you
within ten days. What kind of project do you want? When do you plan to implement it?”
“We can start the implementation when you have time. My budget can be large, but you must keep it
confidential. I don‘t want our cooperation to be spoiled again.”
He implied that he did not want Jordy to know about it.

Gloria had no objection to this, so she nodded, “OK. But I‘m going to focus on the cooperation with
Jordy soon, so I may not have time to do the follow–up work for the time being.”
“I know. There is no rush. As for the project, what do you think the Brown Group lacks now? Gloria,
you‘re clever, so I believe you can figure it out.”

Gloria said without thinking, “No, I don‘t want to analyze your needs or spy on your company‘s secrets.
You should think about it by yourself and send me a message.”
If she figured it out correctly, Jonathan might be on guard against her.
She still didn‘t believe he liked her.
Jonathan helplessly nodded, “Fine! Let‘s eat first.”
Gloria didn‘t speak but sent Nydia a message, asking, (Have you ordered something to eat?)
Nydia replied, (I am eating! Don‘t worry!)
Then, she sent her a selfie with her food on the table. Judging from the background, Gloria was sure
the photo had been taken in this restaurant.
Putting down her phone, she picked up her fork and began to eat.
Occasionally, Jonathan put some food on her plate. Later, he looked at her and said softly, “Although
you can walk freely now, you still have to be careful because the White family may hire people to attack
you again. Gloria, what about I send a few people to protect you? I promise they won‘t disturb your life.”
“No, thanks. I can protect myself. What‘s more, the White family is having trouble even in taking care of
themselves now.”
“But the worm turns! They could become more ferocious than before.” Jonathan was still worried. but
he didn‘t dare to force her to obey, for fear that she would feel unhappy.
Gloria shook her head, “Don‘t worry. Everything is going on smoothly now. What‘s more, who do you
think will be harmed?”
Jonathan blinked his eyes and then chuckled, “It seems you‘ve already had a plan.”
Gloria kept silent, not wanting to reveal more details.
Jonathan wisely gave up asking questions and continue to enjoy the meal casually.
The two ate in silence. Although Gloria didn‘t lower her guard against him, she felt much more at ease
when getting along with him than before. She didn‘t have to deliberate over the choice of words or
scheme against him all the time anymore. After all, they were cooperating in some areas for the sake of
profits now.
They didn‘t speak again until they finished the meal. When they had just put down their forks, a
ringtone suddenly caught their attention.
