She Held Back Tears
Jennifer sounded resigned as if she were telling her own story.
Gloria was silent, not knowing what to say.
Jennifer smiled, “Alright, I’m not talking to you. I’ll let you know how Bryson is doing later.”
“Thank you.”
“Not at all.”
They said no more and hung up.
Gloria had mixed feelings and didn’t know how to deal with them.
She took her laptop, drew a deep breath, and got on with her work.
About half an hour later, Jennifer arrived at Bryson’s house.
Melissa was very welcoming when she saw Jennifer. She talked with her for a while and sent Jennifer
off to Bryson.
After all, Bryson’s condition was not good.

Top trending hashtags popped up one after another on Twitter. Bryson dared not to call Gloria again.
When Bryson knew there was a visitor, he thought it was Gloria who came to explain herself.

“What have you come to see me about?” Bryson was reluctant to bring that up in front of Jennifer.
With a twinkle in her eye, Jennifer went to sit down in the chair next to Bryson.
She looked at him worriedly. “Look at you. How can we not worry about you?”
“I’m doing fine. Don’t worry about me,” Bryson pursed his lips and said, not looking at Jennifer.
Bryson usually spoke softly to Jennifer with a smile.
But now, Bryson was troubled deeply by the comments and the video on Twitter.
Gloria was his girlfriend, but he couldn’t show up with her in public. And he might even become a
barrier on her way to getting revenge and be left behind at any time.
Once Bryson thought of this, words could not express his sadness.
“Bryson, you have to stop beating yourself up,” Jennifer said softly.
Bryson turned to look at her and smiled gently, “Why would I beat myself up? I trust Gloria.”
Jennifer fell silent.
At this moment, Jennifer could tell that Bryson was deluding himself.
With his head down, Bryson didn’t want to talk to Jennifer. They were friends. He didn’t want to give her
the cold shoulder. A tumult of feelings inside him fought for supremacy, which made him feel bad.

suffer in a fantasy world.
