Mr. Collins Is Calculous
Come on I can’t let you sit there and watch me cry. I have to drag you down. And this is what we call
brotherhood, isn’t it?
George continued after seeing Jordy drinking in silence, “I think Gloria is completely over you now.”
Jordy looked at him with bitterness.
George was even more excited by the scene. “To be honest, she appeared with Jonathan at the
banquet and had proposed a divorce with you in public. So, she totally gave up on you.”
Jordy drank and said nothing.
George cheered with him and continued, “The things she’d done later on shows that she did not need
you anymore. And she wouldn’t even go near you. If you did not take the initiative to see her, I’m afraid
they would utterly disappear from your life.”
Jordy remained silent, but George felt that the glass held in Jordy’s hand was about to squeeze into
pieces.
“Well, look at you. You still don’t want to admit that you are still in love with her, do you?”
Jordy suddenly sneered, “She doesn’t deserve my love.”
“Doesn’t deserve? If you think she doesn’t deserve it, why do you still take her out here and be so
hospitable? Do you do this only because of work?
“Or what else?” Jordy glared at George with his cold eyes.
“Oh, to hell with work. You just enjoy being alone with her! You pick roses for her, even though you do
so because you are forced by Karen. But even without Karen, I know you would still do so for her
judging from your personality. No one could force you to do what you don’t want to do.”

Jordy frowned, and George continued, “You still prepared testimony for her. You still want to prove to all
the staff in the company that you are ready to confess your love for her. And you let the media hype
wantonly about it, in order to daunt any love rival. Mr. Collins, you are really calculous.”
“Don’t you know how to talk reasonable.” Jordy drank again. He didn’t even bother to deny it.
George was amused by his reaction. “And remember how you’ve prepared a surprise for her. A pair of
delicate, exquisite shoes. Oh, it really took you a lot of trouble to please her! Mr. Collins. But you still
can’t be allowed to touch her.”
Jordy’s face sank dark quickly at the mention of the shoes. This time, he didn’t intend to hide his
emotions. He seemed to grow more and more domineering and bitter, as if his heart was completely
frozen and bitten by a blast cold wind.
George also noticed the changes in Jordy. His curiosity was aroused by Jordy again. He looked at
Jordy and asked, “Can you tell me what exactly happened that day? Why did Gloria break down in front
of Karen?”
Jordy just kept drinking. He didn’t say a word. He just drank and drank until the bottle was empty.
George could feel that there was something wrong with Jordy. Or otherwise, he would not have to get
himself drunk like that.
At that moment, George felt that he must not stimulate him any more. He asked in a different way, “Talk
about it. I don’t think it will do you good if you keep holding it back for yourself. Besides, don’t you want
to remarry her? Whether you still have feelings for her or not, she is still a perfect candidate as a wife.
You can tell me. I’ll help you get her back.”
Jordy pressed his lips tightly and said nothing.
George continued, “I know you don’t want to talk about it, but if you continue this way, you will never
win back her heart. Is this what you want?”
Jordy looked at him faintly, “Are you done?”
“No!” George knew that Jordy wasn’t persuaded so he decided to try again, “Gloria refuses to get close
to you right now. And the crystal-shoe incident was never a trivial matter. Do you know about it at all?
Tell me if you do. If you don’t want to tell me about it, I can still help you explain it to her, telling her that
you didn’t mean it.”
