I Just Want to See You
“Look, Jonathan has got something in his hand. I wonder what good stuff he brings this time. He tries
every means to please Gloria. Ugh… Why isn’t there any man doting on me?”
Jennifer laughed and urged her, “Alright, let’s go.”
Her mind was a mess, and she didn’t have the energy to worry about Gloria’s issue.
“Okay.” Nydia had another look at the two and then drove off.
Gloria looked back and saw Jennifer waving at her. Then the car sped away.
She turned back to the man. Before she could say anything, Jonathan asked, “Won’t you invite me to
your house since I’m already here?”
Gloria frowned. “Jo…”
“Come on, I’m a bit hungry. We can eat together.”
With that, he entered the yard.
Gloria was lost for words.
No matter where she moved, they would find her.
And this kind of uninvited visit was nothing fancy.
At such a point, she couldn’t drive him away and had to open the door.
With a smile on his face, he watched her bring over a pair of slippers and then changed his shoes.
“Thank you.”
Gloria just pursed her lips.
He placed the packages on the table and unpacked them.
“Have some?”
She gave no response. Jonathan went to the bathroom to wash his hands. He felt quite at home, and
her brows furrowed.
He came out and smiled at her. “You don’t like to have me here?”
“You like to come uninvited recently,” she pointed it out.
Jonathan forced a smile and said, “I know that you don’t like it, but this is the only way to see you.
Maybe you can come and see me.”
She didn’t want to talk.
In the end, she went to wash her hands in the bathroom, came out, and sat down with the man.
They were facing each other across the table.
Jonathan handed her a lunch box.
The content was exquisite and substantial.
It was cooked by the chef hired by his family.
During the meal, Gloria remained silent.
Unlike her, Jonathan brought up topics to lighten the air. By and by, her brows were unknitted.
He was a people person who was good at enlivening the atmosphere and making everyone like him.
Gloria looked up at him. Her vigilance built up.
This man could make people let down their guard. She was afraid of giving way to his approach.
It was not that he could win her heart.
She had suffered enough from the relationship with Jordy and had no interest in starting a new one,
After the meal, she laid her eyes on him and asked, “Anything else you came for?”
“Yeah, I need your help with a contract.”
“Acontract?” She gazed at him without pursuing the issue.
They went to the living room and sat down on the sofa. Jonathan handed her the file and said, ”This is
the one. The legal team has reviewed it, but I still don’t feel safe. This is very important.”
Gloria frowned and took the contract. Instead of reading it at one, she eyed the man and said, “You
trust me so much.”
