The call was connected, but Jordy didn’t speak.

George finished reading a page of the contract, and his mouth twitched up into a knowing smile. “No
wonder Gloria is so daring. The contract has many loopholes.”
Jordy narrowed his eyes and did not speak.
George flicked through the remaining pages and said with a laugh, “Mr. Collins, the ball is in my court.
What do you want me to do? To tell them there is no loophole or there is one?”
George was teasing, but he would respect Jordy’s choice and do whatever Jordy said. He knew Jordy
cared about Gloria.
Suddenly, Jordy’s mind churned through all the horrible things Gloria had said to him.
It has nothing to do with you.
Stay out of my way. Don’t you try to control my life.
We’re divorced. You’re not in the position to do anything.
In an instant, Jordy felt anger rising up inside himself.
The next moment, Jordy snorted, “What does it have to do with me?”

Jordy put his phone down on the desk and got back to work.
