Why Are We Coming Here?
Gloria sighed with resignation. “You have your own work. You don‘t have to come company me.
Though I am tied to Jordy on this business trip, I‘m sure he would protect me because he needs to
make sure the company benefits.”
“I know. But I really want to come here for a relaxing trip. And it is a coincidence that you are here as
well. That way, when you are not busy, we can walk around together.”
Nydia talked as if she was enthusiastic about her trip here. But Gloria knew her friend deeply. Even
through Nydia‘s eyes, Gloria could see through her heart, she knew Nydia was quite reluctant to come
except that she wanted to accompany her.
She knew that Nydia was reluctant not because of Gloria, but because of something else.
Before Gloria could continue, Nydia looked at her and asked, “Gloria, which room are you in? Can I
move in with you?”
Gloria‘s eyes flickered, “I‘m in a suite with Jordy.”
“Damn it! A suite again! How disgusting these men are!” Nydia couldn‘t help losing her temper. But then
she regretted it
Gloria stared at closely her, “Did George ask you to stay in a suite with him too?”
Then she should find out what made Nydia reluctant to come.
Nydia gritted her teeth and was finally honest with Gloria, “Yes! Oh, it‘s so sick. There is only one suite
left when we came here. It is the suite he reserved here every time he comes for many years. The
receptionist told us that you have to book in advance. But we just decided to come today without further
preparation. It seemed there was indeed no spare room.”
Gloria seemed to hesitate but she didn‘t speak anything.
It must be a whimsical idea of Jordy to come to this hotel. It was indeed the best hotel in the Nossel
Scenic Area Resort. There was no doubt that Jordy would make a reservation for suites here all year
round.
George‘s words sounded quite reasonable.
Gloria sighed, “Though the surroundings here are not quite safe and quite remote, I still think I can
protect myself. Jordy won‘t let anything dangerous happen to me. You can relax and go back to your
room now.”
“Why am I going back? It took me quite an effort to leave and come here. I don‘t want to go back”
Nydia shriveled and said again, “You can‘t drive me away like this. I like this place very much.”
Gloria sighed helplessly. At this time, the waiter served the food they had ordered.
“Let‘s eat first.”
“Okay.”
At the same time, Angela had just come back home.
Someone told her she could leave the hospital in two hours, and she did. But the mother and daughter
were worried that some other problems might arise. So, they decided to stay a while longer in the
hospital before they left.
There was indeed evidence for her to clarify the misunderstandings. And the plans had no flaws. After
checking out the evidence brought, Angela marvelled at the excellent plan.
But…
After she arrived home, she was suspicious and wondered, “Why am I coming here? Why am I not
coming home?”
“This is your home.”
“Did Daddy buy a new house?” Angela looked around with repugnance. “But it‘s too small here. How
can we live here?”
Martha‘s face distorted, irritated. A fierce look flashed across her eyes as she heard that. If it was a
new house. She would have felt a little better, but this was not a new house at all!
It was an old rented house that Claude asked his assistant to arrange for them.
But she didn‘t dare to tell her daughter about it. She was afraid that Angela might not bear the fact and
would be stimulated mentally again.
After pausing for a while, she looked at Angela and said quietly, “Our old place has been fixed up
recently. We need to make some rearrangement with our previous house and we will stay here
temporarily for a while.”
Obviously, Angela didn‘t buy it. She frowned and looked at Martha with doubts and said, “We don‘t
need any fixing up with our house. What happened? Tell me the truth.”
