Open His Damn Eyes
Jennifer sighed again and looked more torn.
Gloria chuckled, “Everyone would be embarrassed about this kind of thing. Nydia, you’ll know when
you meet your soulmate one.”
“Yikes, relationships are troublesome. Regarding the situation of you three, I think I’d better stay out of
it. Isn’t it nice to enjoy freedom? Why do I have to bundle with someone for life? As I see it, the ficklest
thing in this world is love.”
Gloria laughed, “Don’t be so pessimistic. There are people growing old together. We just haven’t met
the right person yet. Luck is absent here.”
Her eyes fell back on Jennifer.
“Jennifer, have a little bit of patience and follow your heart. Life is about experiences.”
Jennifer’s face was pale. A bitter laugh was her only response,
Gloria looked up ahead. “Although I regret meeting Jordy, I don’t regret my devotion and iny decision.”
Nydia cocked her eyebrows. “You mean you don’t regret your devotion but regret loving the wrong
person, right?”
“Something like that,” she smiled.
Jennifer’s eyes flickered. Gloria grabbed her hand and encouraged her again, “Do whatever you want.
Don’t think too much.”
Jennifer took a breath and nodded in the end. “I’ll try.”
She was touched but remained rational. She didn’t think she should continue pestering Bryson. That
would push him farther away, and their friendship would be jeopardized.
Compared with losing him, she would rather maintain their friendship so that she could see him all the
time.
Such a stance was humble, but she indulged in it.
When it was about time, Nydia started the engine.
As if by a tacit understanding, none of them mentioned the subject again. Instead, they
chatted and laughed about other things.
Nydia rode Gloria to the neighborhood and said, “I’ll borrow your car and have someone get it back to
you.”
Gloria nodded with a smile. “Sure, I’ll see you around.”
Jennifer and Nydia had other things to attend to. Earlier, they had been taken there by the driver.
After Gloria got off and closed the car door, Nydia prepared to drive off but cooed at the sight of a
familiar figure.
Jennifer followed her to look over and saw a big man in a royal blue suit stride toward Gloria.
From where she stood, Gloria spotted the man.
Nydia giggled, “Gloria is never short of admirers. I don’t know when she can get rid of Jonathan.”
Jennifer narrowed her eyes. “I can see that he is sincere. Actually, it’s not such a bad idea if she opens
up to that man.”
To that, Nydia just shrugged. Jonathan came to Gloria’s side and said something to her with a smile.
Nydia then commented, “It’s hard to tell and depends on her decision. As I see it, Jonathan and Jordy
are on par. If I were her, I might choose Jonathan. I’d let Jordy open his damn eyes and see what a
perfect woman he has lost.”
