The dagger went into the flesh.
Jordy’s pupils contracted, and he changed color.
Harold also panicked.
Gloria grunted and shoved the man away in no time. She bore the pain and pulled the dagger out.
Her keen senses enabled her to feel danger beforehand and avoided being stabbed in the heart. The
dagger wounded her in the flank, but her bones were fine.
However…
The cut was deep, and the blood was gushing out.
“Damn!!!” Jordy snarled.
The sight of Gloria’s blood on the dagger enraged him, and he knocked the man over.
He rushed to her side and said with a rare tenderness, “Hold up!”
Gloria took a light breath and muttered, “It’s not fatal. I’m fine.”
Any other girl would have cried out or fainted, but Gloria remained calm and even looked around with
vigilance.
Someone called the police who soon arrived. With guns in their hands, they shouted out loud, “Stop
right there!”
The killers sensed an unfavorable situation. Those closer to Gloria intended to strike again, but Jordy
and Harold were shielding her, assisted by Caleb’s men. They didn’t have another chance and had to
run before the police came up.
“Save her!”
Jordy shouted and carried her in his arms.
Gloria’s face changed. “I can walk on my own!”
“You’re bleeding out and still want to waste your energy?” he snapped. Harold sensed the anger and
tenderness in his voice.
Jordy was angry with that group of people but tender toward Gloria.
The two kinds of emotions were not contradictory.
Gloria pursed her lips but said nothing because she knew that she couldn’t break free. Her resistance
would be pointless.
The police were also concerned about her injury. A team was left there to take care of the scene, and
the others rushed her to the hospital.
Jordy stayed by her side and urged them to be quicker.
Due to excessive blood loss, Gloria was as white as a sheet.
Silent as the grave, he pursed his lips into a thin line.
The policemen drove at top speed. Before long, they arrived at the hospital. When Jordy carried her out
of the car, Gloria chose to save her breath and strength.
His movement was gentle, and he did his best to avoid straining her wound.
The doctor started the medical treatment at once.
Jordy stayed in the operation room.
His face turned frosty when he saw her bloody wound and upturned flesh.
The doctor had seen too many patients like that and did his job as usual.
Gloria didn’t even wrinkle her brows the entire time. Jordy kept her company. The wound was deep, but
her bones were fine. Surgery was not needed. She was all good once her wound was treated and
dressed.
The doctor was a top expert. His skills were out of the question.
Before long, the job was done.
The sight of her calm face brought Jordy mixed feelings.
He saw a different side of her today.
