Troublemaker
Gloria frowned but said nothing.
She thought it was about work.
Jordy followed her into the office, closed the door, and looked at her with cold eyes.
Puzzled, she stood there and waited for his instructions.
Jordy came to her side and started, “When are you going to stop doing this?”
“Doing what?” Gloria was confounded, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
From before they got married till this moment, she didn’t think she had stirred up any trouble.
She had been going with the flow of a normal life. During their marriage, she hadn’t fought with him
because he went to keep Angela company. After the divorce, she had all the less reason to do that.
Confusion was written all over her face. She acted like he was making trouble out of nothing Jordy
snorted, “Great.”
She was even more puzzled.
She knew about his personality. He was not someone who cared to explain anything or make things
clear.
There should be something making him think that way.
Is there anything worth making a fuss about?
She realized something and looked at the man. “Are you blaming me for driving away an excellent
employee?”
Jordy was speechless.
The air about him turned colder.
Sometimes, Gloria is foolish to an incorrigible extent,
In Gloria’s view, her judgment was correct. She continued, “Freda is excellent but too self-important.
She sticks to her own ideas which don’t conform to the project we’re going to develop. I’ve advised her
many times, but she is bent on having her way.”
Besides, she was not the one who fired Freda.
She didn’t explain because it was known to all that the head of the personnel department had no power
in the past. Now he stood out and fired Freda. Everyone had reason to believe that she was backing
him up and that it was hier idea.
As his face further darkened, she added without waiting for him to speak, “You have to bear with me
and kick her out for the sake of the project. You were sort of helping me build up my authority but got
annoyed deep down. You believe that I’m setting myself against you, right?”
The first half of her remark somewhat pacified him, but the second half irritated him.
“Yeah, you’re one troublemaker,” he sneered.
They could never be on the same page.
Just as I expected.
Her gaze at Jordy was calm, and there was a hint of sarcasm in her eyes.
“Back when I developed the program, I never thought of working with you. You stole the partnership,
and I had to come. If you don’t want to have me here, you can just call off the project.”
Her voice was apathetic and cool.
It didn’t feel like her angry words.
She didn’t have the slightest intention of causing trouble.
Jordy was rattled.
“Gloria!” He ground his teeth.
She frowned, asking, “Anything else you called me over for?”
Jordy sneered again, “I’ve never seen another person as supercilious as you.”
