Face the Music
Jordy’s behavior made her feel helpless.
Since he had no important issue to talk about, she concluded, “Think about it. I’m going back to my
office and continuing with my work. Call it off at any time you like.”
Without further ado, she turned away from the man.
Quick in reaction, Jordy grabbed her arm and prevented her from leaving.
Gloria wrinkled her brows and looked back at the man. “Anything else?”
He gritted his teeth. “Are you betting that I won’t call off the project for the sake of interest?”
She scoffed, “The Collins family is rich. How would you care about such a small amount of money?”
“Very well.” He tightened his grip and slung her to the sofa before she could resist
Dumbfounded, she looked at the approaching man. “Who is the troublemaker now?”
Jordy bore down on her. Unable to escape, she kicked him in the vitals.
As if he had anticipated it, he dodged with ease and pinned her legs down without hurting her.
Gloria bristled in an instant. “What do you think you’re doing?”

Jordy gave a cold laugh. “It has not been long since we divorced. Have you forgotten how you used to
love me?”
She felt a pricking pain in her heart, and it spread to every part of her body.
God knew how much effort she had made to get over the man she had missed day and night!
Now that she had gotten out of the shadows, she would not shed unnecessary tears or look back into
the past anymore.
The next second saw her sneering at the man, “Mr. Collins, see a doctor if you’re sick.”
Emotionless, he looked at her. “Yes, I am sick and crazy to put up with you like this!”
Gloria was baffled. “Is it a hallucination that I hear such inexplicable words from your mouth?”
He had never bothered to explain anything to her. Even if he did, it would be something that broke her
heart.
What was happening made her wonder if she was hallucinating.
His gaze was penetrating. In annoyance, she struggled again, but the man didn’t budge. What was
worse, her hand contacted his solid chest.
For a moment, they both trembled.
Jordy’s eyes difmed by a few shades.
Glona wrinkled her brows. She had never gotten physical with him like this before. What happened the
other night was just a ridiculous mistake
Although she was no longer a girl, she was still ignorant in this aspect.
“We can talk it out Mr. Collins, given our current relationship, we shouldn’t get so close.” She did her
best to speak in a calm tone. Harsh words were undesirable. She would be in trouble if he were
provoked.
Even though she said so, Jordy refused to let go of her. On the contrary, he bored down on her and
spat, “Maybe because of my indulgence, you keep pushing your luck. I gave you an out, but you scored
at it. Time to face the music.”
