"Is he awake?" Blair asked quietly.
But he got no answer but a sharp glare from Nicole. To be honest, he had complicated feelings with
Samuel now.
Nicole intended to leave. But finally, she stopped.
"We have to go now."
Blair glanced at Nicole. No outsider should be involved in this matter. Too much words would be taken
as excuses for Samuel's wrongdoing. They'd better stay out of the way.
Gabrielle saw Blair's point. She looked at Nicole, sighed, and left with Blair.
Extremely tired and uncomfortable, Samuel opened his eyes and got very surprised.
Where was he?
He turned around and looked at the strange room. When he saw Nicole, he was found in a trance.
"Nicole? Why are you here?"
Samuel was wearing a vacant expression.
Nicole heaved a sigh. Although she felt much hurt and upset, she suppressed her anger at the sight of
Samuel's expression. With speculations in mind, she walked to the bedside and handed Samuel a cup
of water.
"Drink some water. You must have a sore throat after drinking so much wine."
Samuel took the cup and drank it all. After that, some memories were brought back.
His pupils suddenly contracted.
"Something's wrong. Where's Olivia?"
Samuel suddenly sat up; only then did he realize that he was half-naked.
"What happened?"
His brows were tightly knitted together.
Nicole knew the real truth then. If he had slept with Olivia, he wouldn't be so lost, let alone forget
everything. Blair said that Samuel had been drugged, so he could do nothing. It seemed to be true
then.
"It's no big deal. Put on your clothes."
Nicole handed his clothes to Samuel. She then frowned slightly at the alcoholic smell from the clothes.
"Why did you drink so much?"
Samuel took his clothes and smelled the alcohol too.
"What's going on?"
"Cannot you tell that? You got drunk!"
Nicole was a little puzzled, but she could tell that Samuel really didn't know what had happened, unless
he was playing the fool. However, Nicole knew that Samuel would admit if he had drunk wine.
Hearing Nicole's words, Samuel realized that something was wrong.
"Did you see Olivia? Something happened to her family."
Samuel changed the topic suddenly, but Nicole kept up with him quickly.
"Is it a big deal?"
"Yes, it is. There's even not much I can do. Her family must have offended some big shots. Her parents
were detained at the customs, and then kidnapped before my men could get them. Her family business
has been frozen. I haven't figured out what exactly happened yet, but it's said that those who have
connections with the Kent family are all in trouble. Soon after I knew where Olivia was, I came to see
her. I don't know why I fainted. I remember that I only drank a cup of tea."
Samuel knew that something was wrong, but it was dropped out of his head. Noticing Nicole's gloomy
face, he guessed it must have something to do with him. However, he could remember nothing. It was
completely gone off his mind.
When Nicole heard that something had happened to the Kent family, she realized that what happened
to Samuel might be Olivia's tricks. Probably Samuel was innocent.
"Did you get the news from the call you got at grandpa's house?"
"That's right. I was afraid that you might be worried about Olivia. So I decided to check it out myself and
then tell you about it. But ... what happened?"
"It's all right. I guess Olivia didn't want us to get involved. She drugged you, causing you to stay asleep
for some time."
Nicole said calmly.
With her anger and grievances gone, she didn't feel upset anymore, and started to worry about Olivia.
What kind of big shots were so powerful that even Samuel couldn't stop them?
Samuel frowned and put on his clothes with the alcoholic smell in disgust. Then, he said in a low voice,
"I must talk to Jacob about this."
"Should we let Jacob know about it?"
"Olivia must have talked to him. If there is a big trouble, she would try her best to prevent us and Jacob
from being caught in the crossfire. I'm afraid that Jacob would be too impulsive."
Samuel sniffed the clothes again in disgust and said, "I'd better go take a shower first. Have someone
send new clothes over."
"OK."
Nicole called Steve and asked him to buy Samuel new clothes. And Samuel went to the bathroom for a
shower.
Hearing the noise of running water in the bathroom, Nicole frowned deeply.
Was Olivia planning to cut her off?
They were so close, but Olivia used Samuel to ruin their friendship. Olivia knew that Nicole was a neat
freak, both mentally and physically. So it was her last desperate throw of the dice. Olivia decided to
break up with Nicole and completely cut Nicole's relation with her family. Wasn't that true?
Nicole still remembered how much Olivia had done for her. After returning to the Kent family, Olivia
even traveled far to the border with her younger brother for Nicole and spent much time on her issues.
They even hadn't got a chance to have a talk yet after she returned from the border. Did she make up
her mind without meeting Nicole due to what happened to her family?
Nicole felt very upset.
That was true.
She really did.
Nicole was very likely to break up with anyone who slept with Samuel immediately without hesitation.
That must be the reason why Olivia did so.
Nicole clutched the sheets tightly with her hands.
The Kent family only engaged in business.
How could they offend some big shots?
Who did they offend?
Who were so powerful?
Was it related to the fact that she asked Olivia to go to the border?
Nicole took a tumble.
If it was true, she would be very guilty.
In the bathroom, Samuel also felt bad.
There was something wrong with Nicole's expression. And he couldn't remember anything. Everything
was abnormal. Moreover, when he met Olivia, he didn't drink alcohol at all. Why was there a strong
smell of alcohol?
Did Olivia make him drink?
But why?
Even if he was drunk, there was no need to take off his jacket.
Besides, Nicole seemed gloomy.
Samuel called Blair under the cover of the noise of running water.
"Is there any drug that makes people seem drunk after taking it?"
Blair was still on the way home. To answer Samuel's phone call, he pulled over. After all, there was
Gabrielle in the car, so he wouldn't take any chances.
"You're awake?"
Blair asked casually. But Samuel was surprised.
"Have you been there?"
"Yes. I just left. I'm on Manly Street now."
Hearing Blair's words, Samuel frowned deeply, and he couldn't help looking out.
"Did Nicole ask you to come over?"
"Yes, you may have been tricked. When I got there, you were half-naked with a smell of alcohol. Most
importantly, a woman left your room. There were hickeys on her body."
Blair's words shocked Samuel so much that he almost dropped his phone.
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
"I'm serious. Why don't you check the surveillance videos yourself?"
Samuel was shocked by what Blair had said.
Right at that moment, something occurred to Nicole. She hurriedly got up and said, "Samuel, I'm going
out to see if Steve is back."
Then, she walked out.
Samuel suddenly realized something.
"I'll call you back."
He quickly hung up the phone, and then used a program on the phone to access the club's video
monitoring system as soon as possible.
In the past, he would disdain to do so. After all, he was Samuel. If he wanted to check the surveillance
videos, all he needed to do was to give an order. But at that moment, he felt that Nicole might delete
the surveillance videos.
So, Samuel directly hacked into the surveillance system of this club.
But the video on the surveillance system was deleted.
A video clip, over 20 minutes long, was deleted.
Samuel's eyes turned colder.
If Blair hadn't told him what happened, he would never know it. No matter what Nicole saw, there was
something abnormal when the surveillance video was deleted.
Samuel quickly found the deleted video clip by hacking on his phone.
That video clip was deleted, but the Recycle Bin remained untouched. Even if it was cleaned up,
Samuel knew how to recover the database.
Samuel watched the video, his eyes turning cold.
In the video, Olivia had someone carry Samuel, who was unconscious, into the room, and then had
someone take off his clothes.
Then, Olivia had someone call Nicole who arrived within less than 20 minutes.
When Nicole arrived at the corridor, Olivia ripped off her clothes, revealing the hickeys on her body.
Then, Nicole kicked the door down. Samuel could not hear clearly what they had said, but he could see
Nicole be in astonishment and Olivia leave without hesitation.
It had only been about twenty minutes after he was sent into the room when Olivia left. During that
period, there was someone else in the room. Samuel finally understood why Nicole seemed so upset.
How could she be in a good mood when she had been betrayed by her best friend and her husband?
However, Nicole didn't say anything and didn't do anything, which surprised Samuel.
After restoring the video on the original surveillance system, he saw Nicole enter the surveillance room.
Samuel sighed. He did nothing to Olivia. Although he did not know what was going on with the hickeys
on Olivia's body, he really hoped that it would not drive a wedge in his relationship with Nicole.
He didn't blame Olivia.
The Kent family had been in such a big trouble. Regardless of the position and power, those who had
relations with the Kent family were stuck in trouble. This was really abnormal.
As Nicole's husband, he knew that Nicole cared about the Kent family. If Nicole might be in danger
because of the Kent family, he could understand why Olivia did so.
Only by doing so could Olivia make Nicole break up with her and get Nicole out of the trouble faced by
the Kent family.
With a mixed feeling, Samuel worried about Nicole a lot.
Could she take it?
