“I wouldn’t apologize! It’s all her fault! If it wasn’t for her, would you have left? Lucus, have you forgotten
that? You once said you would be in the military for the rest of your life. You said you would fight with
us for the rest of our lives, but what is it now? You left us for a woman and reneged on our oath. You
are a bastard!”
Michele burst into tears.
Morty was a little angry.
“Michele, apologize.”
“Dad, do you also think it’s my fault?”
Michele had really been in a particularly low mood lately and was particularly vulnerable to stimulation.
Morty saw his daughter secretly shed tears in her room more than once, and he was distressed too, but
he knew that whether Lucus stayed or not was actually his personal choice. He didn’t need to be
responsible to anyone.
Michele was forcing him to do what he was unwilling to do.
She did this because she liked Lucus, but the more she did it this way, the farther away Lucus was
from her.
Morty had mixed feelings in his heart.
Lucus said coldly, “I regard you as my sister, but my sister can’t be so unruly. Besides, any decision I
make has nothing to do with Yasmeen. It’s not right for you to vent your anger on her because of me,
not to mention you even hit her. Michele, have I spoiled you like this these years? If so, it’s my fault. I’ll
certainly reflect on it in the future and hope you stay away from me. After all, a teacher like me can’t
teach good students, so as not to bring shame on you and your family.”
His remarks were too harsh. Although he didn’t mention Morty’s name, he cursed him as well.
Morty can’t help but feel a little embarrassed.
“Lucus, Michele is spoiled by me. I apologize to Yasmeen.”
Morty smiled and looked at Yasmeen.
Although Yasmeen was not willing to let Lucus leave here because of her, it was their own business. It
had nothing to do with others. No one had the right to question them, not to mention Michele even hit
her, which made her very angry.
Now Morty was the elder. It seemed that he respected her by personally apologizing to her. But this
was trying to suppress her by making use of his identity.
If she accepted his apology, she was bound to feel aggrieved, but if she didn’t, the people present
would probably think she had no sense to appreciate favours and had caused trouble for Lucus.
Yasmeen was in a complicated mood and heard Lucus say faintly, “Yasmeen is a foreign princess. She
has been arrogant, domineering and self-willed since childhood. Even if she likes me, she doesn’t need
to wrong herself. That’s not her nature. So, Mr. Morty, you don’t need to apologize to Yasmeen. It is
Michele who needs to apologize. Anyway, she hit Yasmeen. You can’t do that for her. If so, can I ask
my dad to apologize if I hit Michele?”
As soon as Lucus said these, Michele’s face was white as a sheet.
Lucus directly did the same thing that Morty had done to him, regardless of the affection between their
families for so many years.
Michele felt sad.
“Lucus, my father is at least your elder. Are you talking to my father like this for an outsider?”
“The outsider you mentioned is my girlfriend, my family. You should know that I am willing to cover my
people’s mistakes. No matter what Yasmeen did is right or wrong, as long as I think she is happy, even
if she pokes a hole in the sky, I am still happy to spoil her and let her do that. No one else has the right
to say anything to her! Do you understand?”
At that moment, Michele thought Lucus was so unfamiliar to her.
The Lucus she knew had always been calm, silent, detached. He wouldn’t pay much attention to
anyone and seemed to be good to everyone. He had never defended someone like this.
Michele felt she couldn’t even breathe smoothly.
Yasmeen felt so sweet, but she also didn’t want to put their relationship on the line. She quickly said,
“The person who tracked us is Julian. He should not work for our country’s nationals. I know this
person, but not very well. If you need, I can assist in the investigation and tell you what I know about
him.”
Morty took a look at Yasmeen and was in a complicated mood.
This girl was really like the person how Lucus described. She was ostentatious. And she didn’t care
about other people’s moods at all. She also could change the topic wisely. This alone had made him
like her.
Then Morty took a look at Michele and sighed.
Because his daughter didn’t grow up around him, he actually indulged and spoiled her, so that she
missed many opportunities which could get her trained. Now it seemed that this was not a good thing.
Yasmeen had been in the Capital City since she was a little girl. She lived alone and always followed
Lucus. She dealt with everything all by herself at ordinary times. Steven and his wife were really cruel.
They just let Yasmeen live alone, so the way Yasmeen conducted herself in society was completely
different from Michele’s.
Even if the person who married Lucus was Michele, Yasmeen wouldn’t do such an unladylike thing to
Michele.
It’s said that without comparison, there would be no harm. Then Morty sighed and said, “Michele,
tomorrow you follow some top students to go abroad for training. Don’t come back if you can’t get a
good ranking.”
“Dad! I’m not going!”
Michele immediately panicked.
She didn’t want to leave home, and also didn’t want to leave the Capital City.
As long as she was still there, as long as Lucus was not married, she had not lost.
But at such a critical time her dad wanted to send her away. How could he do this to her?
Unfortunately, Morty had made up his mind, and it was not up to Michele this time.
“Edison, you do not need to take over Lucus’s position for the time being. You go abroad for training
with Michele this afternoon, or that, do not come back if you can’t get a good ranking.”
“Yes!”
Edison was a soldier, not Morty’s son. He needed to obey Morty’s order first.
Michele still wanted to say something but was stopped by Morty’s eyesight. Then he coldly said, “Go
back!”
“I......”
Michele still wanted to say something. Edison saw Morty was really angry and quickly took Michele
away quickly.
It suddenly quieted down. Lucus directly reached out his hand and held Yasmeen in his arms. Then
she said faintly, “Uncle Morty, we want to make our marital registration. Please give us the certificate.”
“Now you remember to call me Uncle Morty? You even scolded me just now. What makes you think I’ll
give you the certificate when you’re retired and no longer useful to me? Should I give it to you or do I
owe it to you?”
Morty’s face clouded. The tense atmosphere made Yasmeen so worried.
Oh no!
Lucus had gotten into big trouble.
