Chapter 1412 Samuel's Deal with Tim

Prev Chapter Next Chapter

Samuel was afraid that Edwin would be too anxious to keep a secret. Besides, he was skeptical that

Sally didn't regard Edwin as her elder at all. Instead, she wanted to exploit him or take revenge on him.

After all, Sally didn't grow up with him. Samuel wasn't sure if she hated Edwin or not and he dreaded to

take a risk. So, he didn't tell Edwin about Sally.

Since Sally was determined to be with William, Samuel thought it was time to tell Edwin the truth.

Samuel thus told Edwin what had happened to Sally.

Edwin became furious after hearing his words.

"Leo kidnapped my daughter?"

"That's right. Leo raised Sally and trained her to be a killer. When Sally fell in love with William, he used

William to force her to marry him. Zayn is their child. In fact, Sally had given birth to a son for William

before it. For his safety, she delivered him and asked the Sawyer family to bring him up without letting

anyone else know. Morgan must have helped her. It is dangerous to have a baby alone. Morgan is a

doctor and she is a good friend of Sally."

Samuel told Edwin his guess.

Edwin was extremely excited.

He had thought that he would be alone for the rest of his life. Surprisingly, he had a daughter.

Sally was his eldest daughter. He had been guilty of failing to protect her. Since she was kidnapped, his

wife kept having quarrels with him and at last, divorced him. They didn't meet each other anymore even

when his wife died.

He did not expect that Sally was alive. What was more, he had two grandchildren. Edwin couldn't

restrain his excitement.

"Where is she? Can I see her?"

Samuel whispered, "Grandpa, she and William are in the Capital City. Mr. Morty's men are there as

well. If you want to see them, you can call Mr. Morty to figure out what Sally is thinking."

Edwin was in his twilight years and had little time to waste. Samuel hoped he and Sally could be

together soon. Otherwise, Sally probably would regret when she wanted to see him.

In an instant, Edwin understood Samuel.

"Alright, I'll call Mr. Morty. Please take good care of Nicole."

"I'm her husband. I must do it."

Samuel said directly.

After hanging up, Samuel heaved a sigh of relief.

Actually, he wasn't going to tell Edwin about Sally until Nicole insisted on going to the Shaw's and

visiting Edwin. He feared for Nicole's safety.

The person behind the scenes even dared to shoot Nicole in public in Seapolis City, let alone in other

cities. However, Nicole was angry with him. If he said so, she would not listen to him.

As Edwin went to the Capital City, Nicole had no reason to go out.

Someone else occurred to Samuel.

Tim and Evelyn were in Seapolis City as well.

Samuel became increasingly upset.

To be forgiven and protect his wife, he had to resort to every expedient.

He was hurt.

But his wife didn't care for him at all.

As he thought, Samuel felt bitter. Then, he took out the phone and called Tim.

Tim was surprised when Samuel said that he was treating Tim and Evelyn to checkups in City D.

"I didn't know you are this kind."

"I don't want Nicole to go out."

Samuel said bluntly.

Tim looked at the news about Nicole being attacked on his phone and couldn't help but ask, "Who is it?

Do you find out?"

"It probably has something to do with Country F. I'm investigating. I want her to stay at home recently.

However, as you know, I can't force her to do anything she doesn't want to do."

"I see. Send the money to my account. Evelyn and I will set out soon."

Tim agreed to leave, but Samuel became depressed.

If he knew that Tim had agreed to Nicole without hesitation, he wouldn't have said that he was paying.

"Does the Mason family go bankrupt?"

"Of course not. But that's not my money."

Tim said in a relaxed voice.

Samuel's mouth twitched.

"The Louis Group seems to be doing well recently."

"My money doesn't grow on trees."

"How shameless you are!"

Samuel hung up, feeling both angry and aggrieved. But when he thought of Nicole, he was relieved.

He decided to ignore Tim. He didn't mind spending money, as long as Tim and Evelyn went to the

Capital City. He was rich anyway.

Samuel sent Tim a hundred.

As soon as Tim saw it, he scolded Samuel.

"So, this is what you call a treat?"

"That's right. It's only half an hour's drive to City D. The money I gave you is enough for a round trip."

Samuel said without hesitation.

Tim chuckled.

"Mr. Green, how generous you are!"

"Of course. You are my friend, and you deserve it."

Samuel was no longer upset after having a chat with Tim. He suddenly felt much more at ease.

But soon, Tim sneered, "I'm quite well. How about I stay in your home with my wife for a few days?

Evelyn happens to want to talk with Nicole, and I'm worried about her. That's that. We will be there in a

moment."

Samuel's expression immediately changed.

"Tim, don't go too far. I know how to deal with you!"

"Then, aren't you afraid that Nicole will be irritated? After all, I'm her dearest cousin. Who are you?"

Samuel was angry at Tim's complacent remarks.

What a cheeky man!

"You will get three flourishing shops on the Golden Street. Is it enough?"

"Thank you for being generous. Don't forget to transfer them to Evelyn. We'll set out right away."

Tim finished speaking and hung up.

Samuel glared at Tim's phone number and thought, "One day, you will pay for it."

Samuel became less worried after the call.

As he was injured, he had no way but to increase the number of bodyguards around and wait for the

results of the investigation. Thinking of it, he picked up the phone again and called Morty.

Morty appreciated Samuel and Nicole for saving Yanice. When he received Samuel's call, he answered

it quickly.

"Do you want me to pay you back?"

"I need more people to protect my wife."

Samuel said directly.

Morty hurriedly said, "I saw the news. I have asked people to investigate. My men are on their way to

your home. They will arrive in about half an hour. Don't worry. No one will be able to enter the Green's."

"Thank you, Mr. Morty."

"Never mind."

Samuel finally felt relieved after ending the call.

Morty's men used to be soldiers. They were able to protect Nicole well.

Samuel couldn't stop himself from worrying about Nicole and was no longer sleepy.

Ever since the attack in Country F, the other party seemed to have been aiming at Nicole. Who exactly

did she offend?

Samuel was lost in thought.

It was neither Leo nor Jayden. Samuel thought over if there was someone he had ignored. All the

suspects in his mind had no reason to kill Nicole, except for one person.

Major!

As he was shot in the head by Nicole, he must want to kill her.

However, Major was dead. How could he attack Nicole?

Something occurred to Samuel, and he was shocked.

He quickly turned on his computer and typed on the keyboard. Not long after, he hacked into the

personnel system of Country F and discovered that Major's household registration had been canceled.

Was he mistaken?

His people had buried Major and told Jayden about Major's death. If Major didn't die, why would

Jayden hate Leo so much?

Samuel realized that he was overthinking.

Major was dead.

Samuel instantly stopped doubting him. But if it wasn't Major, who else would want to kill Nicole?

In fact, he had many more sworn enemies than Nicole. It didn't make sense that people were trying to

kill Nicole instead of him. Apart from Major, Nicole hadn't hurt anyone. Samuel indeed couldn't think of

any suspect who probably was behind the matter.

Samuel failed to figure it out.

He felt a headache.

He massaged his temples, drank a glass of water, and then turned on the TV, which was talking about

the census.

Samuel was not interested and changed the channel.

He became increasingly anxious as all other channels were reporting business news.

Samuel could hardly maintain calm since the person behind the matter was at large. He felt like there

was a time bomb around them.

Who was it?

Samuel wondered if there was something he ignored. All of a sudden, his phone rang, and it was from

Lucas. Samuel was shocked by it.

Why did Lucas call him? Did Lucas know his injury? What about the other two children?

Samuel felt his head hurt even more. However, it was from his son. He could not ignore it. Samuel

answered the phone and heard Lucas ask in an anxious voice, "Daddy, did you see the result of the

recent census of Country F? The population increased."

"So what? The purpose of the census is to calculate the number of people. Those people who did not

register for different reasons will be found through it. Although Country F is not big, it's normal to have

more people after the census, okay?"

Samuel said indifferently, but then he was shocked by Lucas' words. Lucas said, "This is different. The

Freeman family has a new addition."
