"It hurts, doesn't it? Do you know how I felt when I thought that something happened to you?"
Though saying this, Nicole picked up Zoe.
Zoe threw her arms around Nicole's neck and said with a smile, "Mommy loves me the most, and I love
Mommy the most."
"Why are you so honey-lipped now?"
Nicole couldn't help but laugh.
Zoe continued to act cute, which successfully subsided Nicole's anger.
Amelia was arranged to stay in a separate tent, and Jarrod was with her. Samuel and Emory went
aside to talk about what had happened the past few days.
After learning about the whole thing, Emory frowned and said in a low voice, "So Aaron is in fact
Jayden? This is interesting."
"What do you mean?"
Emory sneered and said, "If he is not from Country F, we can see him as a terrorist and deal with the
matter ourselves. However, if he is from Country F, there are too many things involved. It might even
affect diplomacy. I need to inform Mark about this. He should be in Country F now."
"Mark is in Country F?"
Samuel was surprised.
He thought that no one knew where Mark went for mission, but now he suddenly heard from Emory
about Mark's whereabouts. This suggested that Mark and Emory had been in touch.
Samuel suddenly realized something.
"We still have to hide the military operation from Nicole and Jarrod, right?"
Samuel knew the rules. However, Mark was Nicole's uncle, and Nicole had always been worried about
Mark. Now that he got Mark's news, Samuel wanted to tell Nicole if it was possible.
Emory said somewhat awkwardly, "You know the rules."
"Alright."
Samuel nodded and said nothing.
"Jarrod is not a member of the military, so it's inconvenient to let him stay. How about sending them
back to the Seapolis City. And I'll get someone to protect them. Is that OK?" Emory said.
"No need. Jarrod has his own ideas. They won't stay here for long."
Samuel shook his head and refused.
Jarrod was no ordinary person. In recent years, he had his own power and walked in the gray area.
Samuel felt that it would be a humiliation for Jarrod to be protected like a weak.
"Also, Amelia is his woman. She just had an abortion a few days ago. If she is needed here, Jarrod will
have to stay."
Samuel knew the rules. However, Amelia was not a member of the military, so she was not bound by
the rules.
Hearing this, Emory whispered, "I have to consult the higher ups."
"Alright."
Samuel did not say anything else and returned to Nicole's side.
Zoe and Joseph were chatting and laughing. Nicole sat on the chair and looked at them smiling. She
thought that this was really good. It would be even better if Lucas could be here.
Samuel walked over and said softly, "The wind in the mountains is strong. You should put on more
clothes."
"I'm fine."
Nicole smiled. Her expression made Samuel feel peaceful.
Samuel followed Nicole and found himself a chair to sit on. He watched Joseph and Zoe and then said,
"Lucas is much better now. If you miss him, I'll have someone take him here."
"No. The situation here is not clear. If possible, I hope to send Zoe and Joseph back. Whether it's to
deal with Jayden or to go to Country F, it's too dangerous to bring the children with us."
Nicole missed Lucas, but she was more worried about the children's safety. Right now, the best choice
was to send them back to the Sky Group. With Fill around, the children would be safe.
Samuel had the same thoughts. Hearing Nicole's words, he nodded.
"Alright. I'll have someone send them back tomorrow."
"Let's send them off today."
Nicole was reluctant to part with the children, but she knew how dangerous it would be to keep them
around.
In the past few days, when they had lost touch with Zoe, Nicole could not sleep at night. She kept
thinking that, even if her children were geniuses, it was not right to let them face too much darkness at
an early age.
The Green family had money and power. Then why would they the children live such a dark life since
young?
They deserved a happy childhood. So what if they were geniuses? Who said that geniuses couldn't
have a normal childhood?
Nicole didn't know what the children would be like when they grew up, but she believed that they
shouldn't do things beyond their ages.
Thinking of this, Nicole tugged at Samuel's clothes and whispered, "Samuel, I want to discuss
something with you."
"What is it?"
Nicole rarely spoke to him in such a spoiled manner. Samuel thought that even if she asked for the
stars or the moon now, he would probably think of a way to get it for her.
However, Nicole did not know how charming she was. All she could think about were the children.
She whispered, "When this is over, I hope Lucas can leave the military and Zoe can stop learning
sniping. I just want them to go to school like their peers, and then find their own path. I know they all
have their own special abilities, and maybe they can be called geniuses, but they are our children.
They are still young and don't know what path they really want to take. It's too early to define them now,
and that's unfair and cruel. Look what they've been through. Is it alright for a five-year-old child to see
through everything in the world? What about their futures? Do you still have any expectations?"
When they first met, Joseph was naive. Now, he was young but experienced. The sudden change of
family contributed, but did it really have nothing to do with his witnessing too many dark sides of human
nature?
After his parents left, Joseph became Morgan's disciple. Morgan was nice to him. If not for the rebellion
of Morgan, they might still have a deep relationship, but what about now?
After what happened with Morgan, Joseph did not say a word, but who knew if he could fall sleep at
night?
Joseph trusted Morgan, yet she plotted against his mommy. How could he endure it and face it?
As for Zoe, sniping was fine and there weren't any deaths involved, but Nicole didn't know what path
Zoe would take in the future under such circumstances. One thing was for sure, Zoe wouldn't live like
an ordinary people anymore.
She was in poor health. She had undergone a transplant, and now she still needed to take medicines
for rejection.
All Nicole hoped was that Zoe could grow up healthily and safely.
And what about Lucas?
If it weren't for his genius and his early entry into the military, how would he know so many things now?
Things that even adults couldn't handle! What made they think that a five-year-old child could handle
these things?
Remembering Lucas' dissociative identity disorder, Nicole felt heartache.
She told Samuel all her worries.
Samuel could sense her sadness, and every word she said touched Samuel deeply.
Samuel looked at Nicole, realizing that he really wasn't as comprehensive as Nicole when it came to
children. Nicole gave birth to Lucas and Zoe and tried her best to raise them. He, their father, didn't do
much, and he never thought of such things.
He felt bad and said, "OK, I promise you. After getting Zoe and Joseph back this time, I will let Fill
introduce them to some kids so that they can hang out together. The Green family doesn't need
geniuses. Their safety is more important."
"OK."
Nicole nodded.
The two of them sat together, forming a beautiful scene.
Amelia had come out of the tent, with Jarrod following her. They heard the conversation between
Nicole and Samuel.
Jarrod hugged Amelia from behind and heard Amelia say, "I wonder if we will have a child. How will you
educate our kid if we do?"
Amelia was a little envy. She touched her belly involuntarily.
She could have been a mother. If her child survived, it would probably have been a primary school
student now.
Feeling regretted, Amelia cried.
Jarrod gently wiped away her tears. He said softly, "We will have a child. We are both so outstanding,
and we will surely have a child in the future. Well, even if we don't have a child of our own, we can
adopt one. So there's no need to be sad about what hadn't happened. You are weak now. If it weren't
for your revenge, I wouldn't have allowed you to come here to help Emory set up formation in the
barracks. "
Jarrod was being honest.
Growing up by Jayden's side, Jarrod had seen how one could gain the most benefits by scheming, and
had learned how to survive in difficulties. Therefore, for him, the faith in family, country and the world
was like something on the horizon, insignificant and illusory. Only the people and things in front of him
were important, and living a free life was his goal.
Jarrod only came here for two reasons. For one, Samuel and Emory were here. He couldn't stand idly
by and let his only biological brother in this world struggle. For another, there was the fierce enmity
between Amelia and Jayden.
Jayden's forces were great and difficult to deal with. So Jarrod alone probably wouldn't be able to
ensure Amelia's safety. That was why he borrowed Emory's forces.
Jarrod knew better than anyone that he was not welcomed here, but so what?
His woman was here, so he was not going anywhere. If he had to leave, he would take Amelia with
him.
Amelia had been with Jarrod for twelve years, so she understood Jarrod. She knew that Jarrod felt
aggrieved about staying here. If it weren't for her, Jarrod wouldn't have taken the crap.
At this moment, Amelia really hoped that the paternity test would show that Jayden was not Jarrod's
father.
Now, everyone was very quiet and the scenes were beautiful. However, they knew that this was just the
calm before the war. The day of bloodshed might soon come.
