"From your husband?"

Olivia thought that Samuel called Nicole and was about to give her some privacy. But she was stopped

by Nicole.

"No."

"Huh?"

"It might be a sales call."

After saying that, Nicole hung up the phone.

She didn't answer the call from an unfamiliar number.

However, the number's owner who called, again and again, was too stubborn. It was annoying.

Olivia whispered, "If you don't want to answer, just blacklist it."

"I think I'd better answer it. Perhaps we'll get some clues."

As Nicole spoke, she answered the call.

A female voice was sounded immediately.

"Mrs. Green, please save my son!"

As soon as that person spoke, Nicole realized that the caller knew her identity. Then she furrowed.

Olivia suddenly grabbed the phone.

"Mrs. Mead? Where is Jack?"

What a coincidence! They were looking for Jack, and his wife called them.

They had just found out that Jack was the driver who caused the accident, but they didn't expect his

wife would call them.

Nicole was slightly stunned.

Jack's wife?

Nicole naturally did not think that Olivia was wrong, but she was a little puzzled. How did Mrs. Mead get

her phone number?

Mrs. Mead didn't expect Olivia to be with Nicole. They had been neighbors for so long, and she could

naturally recognize Olivia's voice. Then Mrs. Mead subconsciously wanted to hang up the phone.

"Don't hang up. Don't think that no one knows what Jack had done. Since I asked you that, I knew Jack

had caused that incident. Mrs. Mead, I have no grudges against you. Actually, we're close. Why did

your husband almost kill my boyfriend?"

Olivia was rather excited.

If it was someone else who did that, she might not be so furious. But someone, with whom she was

familiar almost killed her boyfriend. Olivia was extremely indignant about that.

Mrs. Mead was a little choked up.

"I'm sorry, Miss Olivia. I'm really sorry. Jack was forced to do so. We're in trouble."

"In trouble? Is this the reason why you guys escaped after hitting someone?"

Olivia was trembled because of anger.

If Mrs. Mead was in front of her, she would not hesitate to slap her.

Apparently, Mrs. Mead wasn't a shameless person. Under Olivia's reproach, she said somewhat

embarrassedly again, "I'm sorry."

"What I want is not your apologies, but Jack's whereabouts. Mrs. Mead, he can't escape. Anyway, we'll

find him sooner or later. It's up to you whether he surrenders himself or waits for the police to capture

him. The punishment and the sentence are different. I hope you understand."

Mrs. Mead was even more uncomfortable about Olivia's words.

"May I speak to Mrs. Green?"

Only then did Olivia realize that Mrs. Mead had originally called Nicole.

Although she was a little reluctant, she still gave Nicole the phone.

Nicole knew that Olivia wanted to hear their conversation, so, she turned on her speakerphone and put

it on the bed.

"What do you have to tell me?"

Nicole's voice was neither loud nor low, but it was full of dignity and indifference.

What she hated the most was the harm from an acquaintance.

They were usually so close to each other, yet such a ridiculous thing actually happened. No matter

what, it was unacceptable. And Jacob was still a vegetable lying in bed.

Mrs. Mead naturally recognized Nicole's displeasure, but she had no other choice.

"Mrs. Green, I know that my husband has done something unforgivable, but we had no other choice.

Our son, Euan, has leukemia and we need a lot of money for treatment. But we are all ordinary workers

and still have a mortgage. Jack's monthly salary is not enough for my son to be hospitalized. Then

someone found Jack and asked him to create a car accident, giving us 500,000 as payment. 500,000

may not be much to you, but it's the lifeline of my son. I know I might be shameful to say that, but we

do have no choice."

Mrs. Mead cried.

Nicole was a little sad, but she didn't sympathize with her.

"Your son's life is important, and the lives of others are not? Don't think that this can be used as a

reason for you to commit crimes."

Nicole said angrily.

Mrs. Mead still cried, "I know we are sinful, and we did not plan to escape. We were going to surrender

after my son got better. Now my son is just a little better, but he's missing. We didn't offend anyone. I

know that Mr. Green is influential and will find us sooner or later. Now I beg you. Please let my son go.

Don't hurt him even if you revenge on my husband. He is innocent. Mrs. Green, you are also a mother.

Please let my son go. "

Nicole finally understood.

Their son had disappeared.

They thought that Nicole asked someone to capture their son...

Nicole sneered and said, "I am different from you. I will punish whoever caused that accident. I will not

vent any anger on a child. Your son's disappearance has nothing to do with me."

Mrs. Mead was stunned for a moment, obviously not believing it.

"Impossible. Other than you, who else will take my son away?"

"Perhaps you can ask your husband if the person made orders to him will take your son away."

What Olivia said stunned Mrs. Mead.

Nicole did not care about Mrs. Mead's condition. She just asked coldly, "Who told you my phone

number?"

Her number was private and few people knew it.

Nicole was very surprised that Mrs. Mead knew her number.

But obviously, Mrs. Mead did not think that it was important. She hurriedly said, "Of course Mr. Green

told me."

"Samuel? Are you sure?"

Nicole then was very sure that Mrs. Mead had been tricked.

If Samuel knew Mrs. Mead's phone number and address, he would have caught her and lured Jack to

appear.

And he wouldn't give Nicole's phone number to anyone else.

Someone planned this.

Who could it be?

Major?

But if it was Major, wouldn't this be asking for trouble?

Nicole felt that this train of thought was wrong.

When Mrs. Mead heard Nicole's question, she was slightly stunned. She vaguely felt that something

was wrong.

"Isn't it Mr. Green? Someone sent me this number and said it was Mrs. Green's number. Who else

would it be if it wasn't Mr. Green?"

Hearing that, Olivia sneered, "Do you think Samuel is as stupid as you are? He wouldn't tell anyone

about his wife's number. And if he knew yours, he would naturally know your location. My boyfriend is

his good friend, but he is half-dead in bed now. Do you think Mr. Green will spare you and allow you to

call Mrs. Green to plead for mercy? You stupid woman!"

Mrs. Mead was instantly stunned, and her face was gloomy.

Nicole looked at the time and said indifferently, "Then send me the phone number that someone sent

you a message via it. Also, think carefully, you choose to surrender or wait for the police to arrest you."

After saying that, Nicole hung up the phone.

Olivia was silent.

Seeing her like this, Nicole's heart naturally ached.

"Don't worry, Samuel will get justice for Jacob."

"I'm just bitterly disappointed. They were my neighbors and we often say 'good morning' to each other.

Normally, I would help them if they were in trouble and spare no effort to take care of their son. But why

did they hurt my boyfriend?"

Olivia felt a chill run down her spine.

What exactly was human nature?

For the sake of his child, they hurt others...

Nicole held Olivia's hand and whispered, "Don't punish yourself because of others' fault. What we are

looking for now is Jack and the people behind him. As long as we have evidence, we can make them

pay the price."

"I see. I just feel so cold all of a sudden."

Olivia's face was very pale.

Nicole knew that it was useless to comfort her. There were many things that she needed to face and

solve by herself.

She called Samuel and told him about it.

Samuel was a little worried.

"You two don't go out. I'll investigate this. Call me if anything happened."

"Alright, be careful!"

Hearing what Nicole said, Samuel was pleased.

"OK, don't worry. They can't hurt me."

"Alright. Mrs. Mead said that her son is missing. Perhaps we can make a breakthrough here. Since

Jack is willing to risk his life for his son, it means that he extremely cherishes him. Why don't we find

the child first?"

"I see. I'll have someone to look for him."

After Samuel finished speaking, he whispered, "I have sent someone to deliver food for you. You two

eat in the ward and don't come out."

"Alright."

After hanging up, Nicole glanced at Olivia who did not react, then she felt somewhat distressed and

sad.

"Stopping thinking anymore. Everything will be fine."

"Yes."

Olivia nodded.

Just as she was speaking, a bodyguard's voice came from outside.

"Mrs. Green, the food deliverer is here."

"I'll go get it."

Olivia got up and walked out.

The person who delivered the meal wore the clothes of the waiter in the Golden Restaurant.

Olivia took the meal over and placed it in front of Nicole.

"Your husband truly loves you. He knows that you like the flavor of dishes made by the Golden

Restaurant and he got someone to deliver the food here from the Seapolis City."

Nicole was amused.

"Stop saying that. There's a branch store here of the Golden Restaurant. Also, stop teasing me. Let's

eat first. We'll have the strength to fight against bad people when we're full, won't we?"

Nicole nodded at her.

The food was very nice and could feed the two of them.

Olivia persuaded herself to eat.

She was in a bad mood, but what Nicole said was correct. Only when she was full would she have the

strength to fight against those bad ones.

They sat in front of the sickbed and began to eat.

Nicole didn't eat much before she suddenly felt itchy all over her body.

She looked down and saw many rashes had erupted all over her arm.

Nicole was terrified.

"Olivia, call the doctor! I seem to be allergic!"
