"Nicole, are you hiding something from me?"

Seeing Nicole's hesitant expression, Edwin had a bad feeling.

"Is Sally...?"

"No, Auntie is doing well. She just can't come back to see you for now. She will come back someday.

She asked me to return this pocket watch to you. She said that she missed you very much."

Nicole didn't have the heart to watch Edwin feel sad.

Edwin was instantly overwhelmed with excitement.

"Does she know I'm her father?"

"Yes. She seems to know everything."

Nicole only figured it out just now.

Zayn told her that before his mother died, she asked him to find his sister and misled Zayn to believe

that Nicole was his sister. Why would Sally do this?

At the time, Zayn was a child, and so was she. She didn't have any value back then. No one knew her

true identity, but Sally had told Zayn. What was she up to?

Was Sally worried that Mr. and Mrs. Bush might be treating her badly and hurt her when her identity

was discovered? Was that why Sally asked Zayn to find her and protect her?

Nicole felt that it might be too good to be true. But that was the only possibility she could think of.

From the moment she came into contact with Sally, Nicole realized that Sally knew everything about

her. She had been watching her closely. Nicole wondered when Sally found out about her birth origin.

Did she knew it from the moment she was replaced?

Or when?

Nicole was a little confused.

She wouldn't get answers to these questions before she met Sally again in person.

Now, Edwin was overjoyed that he had found his missing daughter.

Nicole didn't want to interrupt his joy, so she said, "Edwin, I'm going out to get some air."

"Okay."

Edwin held the pocket watch, thinking about his eldest daughter and wife with complicated emotions.

Nicole turned around and left the study.

She had just opened the door when she saw Viola standing outside eavesdropping.

Viola did not feel awkward after being caught. She even asked, "Auntie? Mom actually has a twin

sister?"

"Didn't your father ever tell you not to eavesdrop?"

Nicole frowned.

She chose to talk in the study because she didn't want Viola to know. She didn't expect that Viola

would be so shameless to follow over.

Viola sneered, "If you're plotting against me, I have to find out about your plan. Otherwise, I will be

dead soon."

"If I really want to kill you, do you think you can still be alive?"

Nicole looked at her like an idiot before walking past her.

Viola was irritated.

"Nicole, what's that supposed to mean? You and I are both Audrey's daughters. Why do you think you

are superior? What makes you think you have the right to treat me like this?"

She grabbed Nicole's arm and glared at her.

Nicole was amused by Viola's rage.

She looked at Viola and said, "Well, isn't that obvious? I'm decent and popular. What now? You don't

like it? You can't do anything about it. How are you going to compete with me? With your despicable

integrity and a father like that?"

"Don't mention my father!"

Viola raised her arm angrily and tried to slap Nicole in the face.

Nicole narrowed her eyes and slapped Viola's face first.

Viola screamed in pain.

She was caught off guard and fell to the ground.

"How dare you slap me?"

"Why don't I? I'm your elder sister. You're disrespectful to me. Don't you know that as a little sister, you

should respect me like a mother. I'm teaching you how to behave."

As Nicole said righteously, Viola spat.

"How dare you mention that you're my elder sister? Did you forget what you've done to me?"

"You got what you deserve. Viola, I brought you to Edwin because we're sisters. If you reform and start

over, we can still be family. But if you continue to be so stubborn, I won't always have patience. You

won't have Mike to plead for you this time."

Nicole had said what she wanted to say. As for whether Viola would listen, she didn't know.

Viola snorted and did not reply, but the look in her eyes told Nicole that she wasn't going to reflect on

herself.

Since Viola chose to stay on the wrong path, Nicole wasn't going to talk her out of it. After all, they were

two different kinds of people.

Nicole left Viola and went straight to Steve.

"Steve, where's Cara?"

"She went to get some medicine for Mr. Shaw."

Nicole was surprised.

"Medicine? Is there anything wrong with my grandfather?"

Seeing that she was anxious, Steve hurriedly said, "He's fine. Cara is nursing his health recently. She

says that he could use some medicine for calcium supplement. She went to the hospital to get the

medicine. And she will be back in a while."

Hearing Steve's words, Nicole wasn't relieved.

If Cara wanted to get some medicine, she would just ask Laurence to do the leg work. Why would she

go to the hospital personally?

Nicole didn't want Steve to notice her worry. She smiled, "Steve, Samuel is asleep when I left. I guess

he's awake now. If he can't find me, he'll be worried. Please tell my grandfather that I have to go now."

"You're not staying for dinner?"

Steve was a little surprised.

Nicole smiled and said, "No. Samuel is going to feel lonely if I don't go home to have dinner with him."

"You two seem love each other very much."

Steve did not force her to stay. He nodded and watched Nicole leave with a smile.

When she reached the door, Nicole said.

"Steve, when Viola is at home, take care of my grandfather. You know my sister could cause trouble

sometimes. Don't let her irritate my grandfather."

Hearing this, Steve said, "Indeed. Viola is really naughty. She pissed off commander a lot. She's got

sweet mouth, but commander seems to be very strict with her. After she tried to trick three times,

commander became angry. He told her to talk to the mirror for a day and night and asked me to watch

her. Only after that did she behave a bit."

When Nicole heard Steve say this, she couldn't help but think about the image of Viola talking to herself

in the mirror.

She suddenly wanted to laugh.

Edwin was a genius.

Nicole felt relieved.

She had been worried that Edwin would be deceived by Viola's flashy words just like Mrs. Don. Now

that she heard that Edwin didn't fall for Viola's tricks, Nicole was relieved.

"Goodbye, Steve."

"Goodbye, Ms. Nicole."

Nicole got into the car and drove out of the military compound.

After leaving the military compound, Nicole pulled the car over and took out her phone to call Cara.

"Mrs. Green."

When Cara saw Nicole's phone number, she immediately dialed back.

"What's the situation? Why did you personally go to the hospital?"

"You've been to the Shaw's?"

Cara asked instead of answering the question directly, which made Nicole's heart sink.

"Mm, just left. Is there a situation?"

"I'm not sure. I'm here to run a test."

Nicole narrowed her eyes upon hearing that.

"Send me the address. I'll be right there."

Right now, what Nicole concerned about the most was Edwin's health.

If Edwin got sick because of Viola, she would never forgive herself.

Cara sent Nicole the location, and Nicole drove over.

When Nicole arrived at the hospital, Cara was waiting at the door.

She was frowning, looking worried.

Nicole was anxious.

To save some time, she pulled over at the road instead of parking the car in the underground parking

lot. And then, she ran over.

"What's going on? Is there something wrong with my grandfather?"

Seeing Nicole arrive so quickly, Cara was surprised, but she snapped out of the trance soon.

"I'm not sure yet. We have to wait for the results," said she.

"What's going on?"

Nicole was worried.

Cara said, "Viola brought back a plant from somewhere yesterday and put it in your grandfather's

bedroom. I was in the kitchen at the time, so I didn't notice anything weird. Your grandfather seemed to

like the plant very much. He thought she brought the plant to please him, so he didn't ask anyone to

take it away. I saw the plant when I went in to clean the room this morning. "

"Is there something with the plant?"

Nicole frowned.

Cara shook her head and said, "The plant looks fine, but I felt dizzy not long after I went in. Your

grandfather is feeling weak, too. I guess there is something in the bedroom that chemically reacts with

the plant, and some kind of gas would be produced during the process to make people dizzy. I looked

around and found that the sandalwood hanging in the bedroom was somewhat incompatible with the

fragrance of the plant. I secretly took the sandalwood and picked a leaf of the plant and came here with

the cover that I'm getting some medicine for your grandfather."

Nicole's face turned sullen.

Viola had improved her trick, hadn't she?

She didn't use poison. Instead, she made use of the chemical reaction of two things.

If something really happened, she could cover her track by taking away the plant or the sandalwood.

Viola was good.

Nicole curled her lips into a cold smile.
