Jacob didn't see through Nicole until now.
With Samuel around, Nicole was a kind and gentle little woman who acted coquettishly sometimes.
She would also spend her leisure time doing some landscape painting. Once something happened to
Samuel, she would become a female warrior to protect her beloved.
Nicole was the most appropriate person for the task. Emory and the military on the high seas and the
Masons along the voyage route would only recognize Nicole.
If Mark didn't see Nicole, he would be worried and couldn't focus on the fight. If Tim didn't see Nicole,
he would go confirm Nicole's safety in person. Even if they could contact each other by phone, the
radio would reveal their whereabouts. Then the arrangement would become meaningless. Besides,
without Jacob and the others, Nicole might not be able to protect Samuel and Morgan at the next
rendezvous point.
Nicole said that after careful consideration. Jacob didn't know how to refute it.
Therefore, he was discouraged.
Working for Samuel for so long, he acted like Samuel. However, he was unable to mobilize all these
people in such a short time. Nicole could do that because she was a member of the Don family, the
Shaw family, and the Green family. Besides, Tim was her cousin, so she could also get the Masons'
help.
Not everyone could be loved by so many people.
"But we got only one pilot," Jacob said with worry.
"One of Steven's people knows how to fly planes. I just asked."
Nicole did not expect Steven to arrange for someone to come over to protect her. She had planned to
land in an unfamiliar place and hire a pilot with high payment. Although it was risky, the people of Night
Elf Empire were still able to control a pilot.
With Steven's help, they were much safer.
Nicole had even solved this problem. Jacob felt disappointed with himself. If Samuel woke up and knew
that he put Nicole in danger alone, Samuel could be furious with him.
Nicole did not care what Jacob thought and said in a flat tone, "Go prepare. Leo's people will be here
soon."
"Yes, ma'am."
Jacob knew that Nicole was right.
He went to Steven's people, while Nicole came to Samuel's room.
Samuel was still unconscious. He was seriously injured this time. It might take a while for him to wake
up.
Morgan knew that Nicole might have something to say to Samuel, so she stood up and was about to
leave. However, Nicole stopped her.
"Morgan."
Morgan paused as she looked at Nicole with a puzzled face.
Nicole said with indifference, "You saved Samuel, so I won't punish you. You can still be Joseph's
master, but you are not allowed to work for anyone else in the meantime."
Nicole could understand Morgan's situation because she was also a woman. However, as Samuel's
wife, she had to ask Morgan to follow the rules.
"I won't."
Morgan felt guilty.
Nicole whispered, "I won't interfere in the way Samuel punishes you when he wakes up. After all, the
town has its rules. No matter what difficulties you had, you should be punished because you betrayed
the town and put Mr. Green at risk. There are other people in Harper Town. You'll see."
Morgan was excited when she heard that there were other people in Harper Town.
"Yes, ma'am. I will accept any punishment."
"Then you'll have to escort Samuel back to Seapolis City."
Nicole looked at Samuel with affection.
Morgan was surprised.
"Mrs. Green, aren't you coming back with us?"
"Leo's men are chasing after us. I have to take Samuel's revenge on him. You go with Jacob and the
others first. I'll meet you soon. Morgan, can I trust you?"
The men here all were Nicole's, and only Morgan was an unstable factor. There was nothing wrong
with Nicole asking that.
"Yes! I will protect Mr. Green with my life."
Morgan said with certainty. She knew that she might not be trustworthy, but she firmly believed that she
would gain people's trust as long as she was sincere enough.
Nicole nodded and leave.
"Mrs. Green, don't you have anything to say to Mr. Green?"
"Can he hear it? What's the point if he can't?"
Nicole knew that Samuel might be able to hear what she said, but she didn't want to talk to him. She
was here just to check on him.
Then, Nicole just left. Her attitude confused Morgan.
Nicole didn't want to explain anything to anyone.
When she came back, Jacob had reached Steven's people.
"Mrs. Green, Steven's people do have a plane following us. They'll be on standby."
"I see. Take good care of him."
Then, Nicole walked out.
Jacob wanted to say something but bit his tongue when seeing Nicole's back.
Sometimes, a couple could only solve problems by themselves. Jacob just hoped that Nicole could
forgive Samuel sooner.
Nicole looked at the sky and whispered, "Is it a good day for flying?"
"Yes."
The pilot was already standing beside her.
"What is your name?"
Nicole wanted to know his name.
The pilot smiled and said, "My name is Hayden Larson, Mrs. Green."
"Hayden, thank you. Now, please fly the plane over. We're going for a fight."
"Yes, ma'am."
Hayden looked like a well-trained soldier. He had some characteristics Samuel also had. But wasn't he
Steven's person? Steven was the leader of Night Elf Empire, which was in a grey zone. Why would a
person in the grey zone look like a soldier?
Nicole couldn't understand, but she did not keep thinking. Steven was Samuel's friend, and now he
spared no effort to help her. She would remember his kindness, and she did not care about anything
else.
Hayden's speed was fast. Steven's plane was following them the entire time, but everyone including
Nicole didn't notice it. They were distracted because of Samuel, but Nicole had to admit Hayden was a
good pilot.
"Let's begin the performance, guys. Lead Leo's people to the high seas. We all want to kill each other
on the high seas. After all, killing people there doesn't have to assume liability."
Hayden and the others burst into laughter.
Indeed. And let the best man win.
"Let's go!"
Nicole looked in the direction of Samuel for the last time.
She understood Samuel, but she disapproved of his leaving her and fighting alone. If they were
together, they might win. Why did he decide to shoulder all of it?
Although she knew that Samuel loved her more than himself, it was still killing her.
Then, Nicole came back to her senses and boarded the plane with strength and pride.
Seeing her board the plane, Jacob said to the person of Night Elf Empire, "We should take off as well,
but we'd better fly at low altitudes so that Leo's radar can't locate us."
"Roger that."
The two planes took off at the same time.
The people of the small town breathed a sigh of relief when seeing them leave. The people were safe
now. Leo's people discovered Nicole right away. After all, Nicole didn't want to hide.
"Hayden, this is a fighter jet, right?"
"Yes, Mrs. Green."
Hayden answered.
Nicole smiled and said, "Show me how powerful it is later."
"No problem. We are close to the high seas. The battle is about to begin. Mrs. Green, stay safe."
"Don't worry. I won't put you in a difficult situation."
Nicole smiled. She looked confident.
When the plane arrived at the high seas, Leo's men launched an attack. Nicole asked Hayden to fight
back, while she sent messages to Emory and Mark.
In an instant, a fierce battle began in the sky above the high seas.
The battle only lasted for less than five minutes. Everyone except Nicole's people died here.
Nicole guided Hayden's men to the nearby landing point to meet Emory, Mark, and the others.
Tim rushed forward and hugged Nicole as soon as he saw her.
He was relieved now that he could feel Nicole. However, seeing Nicole's wounds, he was annoyed.
"Where have Samuel been? He should have protected you!"
"Tim, he almost died."
Nicole spoke for Samuel.
Tim frowned and changed the subject.
"Have you got your wounds taken care of? Are they inflamed? I'll ask the doctor to check on you when
we are on Evelyn's ship. I've also brought Blair. Don't worry. I guarantee that the wounds won't leave
any scars."
Tim's heart ached.
Nicole liked being cared about. She hadn't seen Tim for a long time, and he seemed to have gained
some weight.
"Tim, you seem to have eaten a lot during the time of detoxification."
"What kind of talk is that? Evelyn takes good care of me."
Tim flicked Nicole's forehead while looking at her with affection.
Nicole felt happy for him since he was better off. Meanwhile, Mark walked over with a serious face.
"Nicole, where's Davon? Can you reach him?"
