"Evelyn, I..."
Tim wanted to explain, but Evelyn threw something in front of him and her expression became even
uglier.
Somehow, Tim's heart skipped a beat.
'Was my wife angry?' He thought.
"What... what's wrong?"
Tim was a little nervous with fear.
Wasn't it fun?
He was a playboy who slept around with different women, yet he actually was afraid of his wife instead
of Nicole now?
Tim felt a little depressed when he realized this, but he didn't care much about it.
Evelyn also told a trace of worry and panic from Tim's voice. Only then did her unkind expression ease
slightly.
"Look at it. Look at what you've done!"
Evelyn gritted her teeth when saying every single word, wishing she could tear Tim apart.
Tim was a little puzzled. He rubbed his nose and thought to himself, 'I have been behaving myself
lately.'
Suddenly, he thought of Martha.
He went to see Martha a few days ago without telling Evelyn. Could it be the thing Evelyn was angry
about?
Tim somewhat felt uneasy.
"Evelyn, I..."
"Take a look at it first."
Evelyn walked past him and picked up a glass of water.
Tim was nervous, and he hurried to take over the photo that Evelyn showed him, and then he suddenly
became gloomy.
He knew Viola in the photo. But who was the woman beside Viola?
Why did she look so familiar?
"Can't you remember her? Didn't you just sponsor her to go to college?"
Evelyn sounded envious, depressing Tim.
"Evelyn, I just wanted to do a good deed."
"Of course you did. Your kindness caused much misery to Nicole."
Evelyn snorted coldly and continued, "Can't you recall her name?"
Tim really didn't remember her name.
"Her name is..."
"FERNANDA!"
When Evelyn said this name out, Tim finally recalled something.
"Yes, you're right. Fernanda. But why was she together with Viola?"
Tim frowned.
Nicole was sick now, and Tim was unclear about why. He was just about to rush over to take a look
when Evelyn stopped him here. Now that he saw the photo of Fernanda and Viola together, Tim
instantly realized something.
"Why does she want to hurt Nicole?"
Tim was vexed.
How could Fernanda hurt Nicole?
He paid for her education, but she repaid his kindness by teaming up with Viola to hurt his cousin
Nicole?
Evelyn saw the anger in Tim's eyes, and the unkindness on her face disappeared.
"You have to ask her about this yourself. I remember that Fernanda was arrested by Samuel's men. But
why does she show up now? Why is she with Viola? I heard that Nicole wasn't sick. She got poisoned.
There are many people around her. She doesn't need us. I think we need to find out the mastermind
behind this matter. Maybe Fernanda gave something to Viola. Now, I am pretty sure that the poison
was from Fernanda."
Hearing Evelyn's words, Tim's hostility towards Fernanda grew.
"I will kill her."
"But we have to find out where she is."
Evelyn was depressed.
The Masons had their own sources of information, but they were unable to find Fernanda's
whereabouts. And they did not know how Nicole was doing. Evelyn was really worried.
Evelyn felt even more uncomfortable now that she found out Fernanda was the mastermind behind it.
Fernanda was really a pain in the ass.
Tim was thinking things over.
He was worried now that something had happened to Nicole. Luckily, his new wife, Evelyn, had done
so much for him and Nicole.
She was really nice with Nicole.
Tim was really moved.
He knew that Evelyn hated Fernanda.
He had wronged Evelyn, thinking that she was jealous of a college student he had sponsored. He even
thought that, when accusing Fernanda, Evelyn was not considerate and arrogant as she was from a
wealthy family.
Now, this Fernanda, a poor student, had really hit him in the face.
Tim was very angry with Fernanda, and guilty towards Evelyn.
"I think I know where she is."
Evelyn's eyes widened the moment she heard Tim's words.
"Really? But you said that you had nothing to do with her!"
Evelyn stood up immediately.
"Evelyn, don't get me wrong. I was just trying my luck. She once gave me an address and said I could
find her there. I didn't take it into heart because I don't think I will have anything to do with her. You just
reminded me of it. Let's go find her and see what kind of poison she used on Nicole, okay?" Tim tried to
calm Evelyn down.
Tim really hated Fernanda.
She really got something.
She left him with her address on purpose when she managed to win Tim's sympathy with her life story,
because she knew he would need it today?
This didn't feel good.
Tim had never expected this to come. He was speculative all his life, and now he got used by someone
else?
He, Tim, had dealt with all kinds of women. Today, he was actually tricked by such a teenage girl.
He could just not take the sharp gaze from his wife now.
Evelyn hated Fernanda to death.
'What a good Fernanda!'
She had been precautious, but hadn't noticed that the girl had given her address to Tim.
'Fortunately, Tim was not interested in her; otherwise, she would never get the opportunity to marry
Tim?' She thought.
How could Fernanda try to steal Tim from her?
Moreover, she harmed Nicole. That was unforgivable.
"I'll go with you."
Evelyn took a deep breath and swallowed all her anger. She glared at Tim and said, "What will you do if
Fernanda agree to tell you the name of the poison on the prerequisite that you divorce me and marry
her?"
When Evelyn asked this question, she was not sure about Tim's answer.
She knew how important Nicole was to Tim.
Evelyn was nice with Nicole, because Nicole meant a lot to Tim. Evelyn cared about anyone important
to him.
At the same time, Evelyn was somehow worried because he cared about Nicole too much.
Fernanda had strong feelings for Tim. If she did make such requirements, would Tim say 'yes'?
After all, she and Tim had been together lately, and Nicole was indeed the most special one for Tim.
Thinking of this, Evelyn felt less sure about what she would get from Tim.
Tim was not prepared for Evelyn's question. He paused.
Evelyn was frightened by his hesitation.
"Forget it. It's all my own fantasies. She might not ask about it at all. Let's go. Hurry up. Don't wait any
longer. Nicole's safety is most important."
Evelyn took the lead and walked out.
Her mind was in turmoil.
Tim frowned. When Evelyn passed by him, he suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms.
He said in a low but firm voice, "You are my wife. I have never thought of marrying somebody else."
Evelyn was touched and tears welled up.
She tried hard to keep her tears from rolling down along her cheeks.
It was embarrassing.
But deep inside, she felt warm.
...
She loved Tim even more.
Evelyn just wanted to pounce on Tim and have sex with him, but it was not the time now.
"Remember what you said today, Mr. Tim," she said in a hoarse voice, "you can never divorce me."
"Silly girl."
Tim lightly tapped the tip of Evelyn's nose and smiled with affection, but his heart ached.
Although he did not know when Evelyn had fallen in love with him, this little woman loved him deeply.
She loved what he loved, and worried about what he was concerned about. Not many women in this
world could love him in this way.
With this alone, he wished he could give all the best things in the world to her, not to mention his love.
The love he had had in Nicole now went to Evelyn. Tim thought of the famous saying, 'When God
closes a door against you, he will always leave a window to you.'
He loved his little wife very much now.
"Let's go and see what Fernanda is up to."
"OK."
They walked out of the house hand in hand and drove straight to the place where Fernanda lived.
If Tim didn't bring Evelyn here, she might not have expected that Fernanda should live in a slum.
How could a scheming bitch, who slept around among several wealthy businessmen and had them pay
for her schooling, live in a slum?
She did that to win their sympathy?
Evelyn despised and looked down on Fernanda even more.
They couldn't drive into the slum. Tim parked the car by the side of the road and walked inside with
Evelyn.
Tim frowned slightly at the dangerous buildings.
"You cannot feel sorry for Fernanda now, can you? Or you think I'm framing her?"
At sight of Tim frowning, Evelyn couldn't help but feel uncomfortable somehow.
Men always thought they were smart.
From her looks, Evelyn could tell that Fernanda was a tricky girl. Why did she leave this address to
Tim?
To gain sympathy?
Tim could tell the mockery in Evelyn's tone. He shook his head and said, "Why would I think that way?
The worst you will do is to make trouble for her in public, rather than to frame her."
Evelyn was happy to hear that.
Luckily, Tim didn't get tricked by her.
"Then why do you frown?"
Evelyn asked subconsciously.
Looking at the dangerous buildings, Tim couldn't help but sneer, "I just came to realize why Fernanda
knows my whereabouts clearly."
"Why?"
Evelyn was puzzled.
What did this slum remind Tim of? Did it have anything to do with Fernanda?
