When Nicole and Samuel arrived, Morgan was already there, trying to avoid being recognized by
wearing a cloak to cover herself. Though Nicole was familiar with her, she almost couldn't recognize
her.
Morgan didn't expect Nicole to come, so she was a little embarrassed.
"Mrs. Green, you're here too?"
Morgan looked at Nicole in embarrassment. When she faced Nicole, she actually lacked confidence by
no reason.
Perhaps because they were women, or perhaps she knew about Nicole's feelings for Samuel, she
knew that Samuel might forgive her after knowing she placed bug on him, but Nicole might not. So she
was a little nervous.
Nicole saw the embarrassment from Morgan's eyes. To be honest, she was indeed very dissatisfied
with what Morgan did. However, after hearing Samuel's explanation, she could understand Morgan.
Nicole was a mother too, she would probably make the same choice if she was Morgan.
She sighed and whispered, "Tell us what you know. The past is past. I will explain it to Joseph."
Nicole knew who Morgan cared about the most now. She didn't want to see her and Joseph distrust
each other, but the reality was always so helpless.
Morgan's eyes were glistening with tears.
Her son was dead and still not in peace. Now she treated Joseph as her son, she really didn't want
Joseph to hate her. She couldn't bear it even a little bit. Now that Nicole knew what she cared about the
most, what else should she worry about?
"Thank you, Mrs. Green. I will tell you everything I know, but I hope you can help me bring back my
son's ashes, okay? I'm unable to do it myself, unless I follow the orders of the king. But I really don't
want to hurt Mr. Green and Mrs. Green, I can't."
Morgan was a member of the Harper Town. She had lost too much for the sake of the Harper Town.
Now the master of Harper Town appeared, she definitely would not betray him. But she would not let
her son die with regret as a mother. She could only place all her hopes on Nicole and Samuel.
"I promise."
Nicole did not say anything. This was between Samuel and Morgan. Although she was Samuel's wife
and could promise Morgan, she thought that it was better for Samuel to say this. Sure enough, Samuel
understood her, so he promised Morgan indifferently.
After receiving Samuel's assurance, Morgan felt relieved.
She whispered, "I know where William is. I can take you there."
Nicole was instantly excited.
"Is William in Country F?"
"No, William is here."
Nicole was slightly stunned, but Samuel was not surprised.
"Is he nearby?"
Morgan nodded and said, "Yes, he is nearby."
Nicole was totally stunned.
She did not expect that she and William were so close, but there was no news of William's
whereabouts. How anxious could William be!
"Where is he?"
Nicole was excited.
Morgan whispered, "Follow me."
Samuel held Nicole's hand tightly. He knew that Nicole was anxious to see William, but he was afraid
that Nicole couldn't control her mood when seeing William.
"Nicole, listen to me. No matter what you see later, you must calm down."
Nicole had made many assumptions before, but when she heard what Samuel said, she paused
slightly and her heart ached.
William's situation was definitely not well since Samuel said this to her. Actually, she also worried that
she would not be able to withstand it. However, seeing Samuel's worried eyes, Nicole felt warm and the
restlessness also gradually disappeared.
"I know."
She whispered with firmness.
Then Samuel said to Morgan, "Let's go."
Morgan brought Nicole and Samuel out of the Harper Town. No one stopped them because Samuel
had issued an order, and Morgan was low-key, no one recognized her.
After leaving the Harper Town, they stopped near the Bryan Town.
Nicole walked several times on this path lately, so she was familiar with it.
"What are we doing in the Bryan Town? Asher of the Bryan Town is still suspicious?"
Nicole felt there was no one to trust now.
Morgan shook her head and said, "No, William is nearby."
"What?"
Nicole's eyes suddenly widened.
Samuel frowned slightly.
All the path here was flat, and there was no place to hide a person. Morgan said that William was here,
but he found it doubtful.
"Morgan, are you sure he is here?"
"Yes."
Morgan nodded, then brought Samuel and Nicole to a small town near the Bryan Town.
There weren't many people in this small town, and it wasn't very lively. The houses were far away from
each other, and the area was vast.
Morgan brought them to a seemingly ordinary house and whispered, "William is inside."
Nicole never imagined that William would be in such an ordinary place. Hiding in the crowd was the
best strategy!
Samuel's eyes lit up. He took out a military dagger from his boots and handed it to Nicole. He
whispered, "Be careful when you get in. Protect yourself at all times, okay?"
Nicole was slightly stunned for a moment before nodding.
Morgan glanced at them and whispered, "Don't bother. I can release the bugs to make the people
inside fall asleep. Then it'll be convenient for us to get things done. Otherwise, if there's a noise, I'm
afraid that it will attract people."
Hearing Morgan's words, Samuel and Nicole knew that there were guards around.
They subconsciously looked around and found that this place was indeed easy to defend and difficult to
attack.
"Alright."
Although Samuel hated bugs, he had to admit that Morgan's advice was safe at this moment.
There were only three of them. If there were too many people inside, this rescue would become
suicide.
Samuel was cautious, so Nicole did not feel anxious. She listened to Samuel. As long as he was
around, Nicole would not panic.
Seeing that Samuel agreed, Morgan took out a small box from her pocket. Nicole knew what was
inside, but when she thought of the bugs, she was terrified to have hair stood upright.
Samuel seemed to know that Nicole was afraid, so he stood in front of Nicole, completely blocking her
off the bugs.
After Morgan released the bugs, they wait for about ten minutes, then Morgan whispered, "We can go
in."
Samuel put Nicole behind him, and Morgan walked behind them. They quickly entered the house.
The door was ajar.
When Samuel opened the door, he could smell rice. It seemed that the family had just finished cooking
and hadn't eaten yet.
There were six people in the room, three men and three women, all asleep at the table.
Nicole knew the magic of the bugs, so she didn't explore anymore now. Instead, she searched
everywhere for William. There were only four rooms, Nicole searched for three times, but she didn't see
anyone other than the six people.
Morgan whispered, "Mrs. Green, William is under the ground."
Hearing this, Nicole changed her expression.
Under the ground? Did that mean a basement?
The people here didn't build basements, they just dug cellars to store vegetables.
Was William in the cellar?
As Nicole thought, Samuel and Morgan walked towards the cellar.
Knowing she was going to see William soon, Nicole was so excited that she felt breathless.
Samuel opened the cellar door, and stink instantly hit him. Even Nicole, who was behind Samuel, was
choked a step back, coughing repeatedly.
How could people live with such a stench?
Nicole covered her nose, trying to suppress her sense of smell, and jumped down with Samuel.
Morgan sprinkled some powder at the entrance of the cellar. Nicole glanced at it, not knowing what it
was. Now she could only believe that Morgan would not harm them.
She turned around and looked at Samuel. He also saw Morgan's movements, but there was no
expression on his face. Nicole felt relieved.
As long as Samuel saw it, no matter what would happen later, Nicole believed that Samuel could solve
it.
When they went down to the cellar, Samuel whispered, "Watch your step."
Nicole turned on the flashlight of her mobile phone and almost threw up when she saw the dried faeces
everywhere.
Samuel regretted letting Nicole come down.
"Nicole, why don't you wait up there?"
"No, I want to see William."
Nicole knew that Samuel was afraid she couldn't stand it, but she had reached here. How could she
retreat?
Moreover, the environment here was really terrible. How could she go up without knowing where
William was?
Samuel knew that he couldn't stop Nicole, but still wanted to give it a try. Now that he heard Nicole's
answer, he could only sigh and said, "Follow me closely. If you feel uncomfortable later, just tell me,
okay?"
"Okay."
The smell of urine made it difficult for Nicole to breathe. As she spoke, she felt the smell had rushed
into her mouth and esophagus. It was so disgusting that she wanted to spit out all the food she ate
during the day. But now, Samuel was worried about her, Morgan was behind her, she couldn't be so
useless.
Nicole suppressed the feeling of vomiting and carefully followed Samuel. She tried her best not to look
under her feet, but she couldn't find place to put her feet the further they went.
Looking at the faeces and mess on the ground, Nicole finally couldn't help retching, and Morgan wasn't
any better.
Samuel gently patted Nicole's back, his eyes filled with heartache.
Right at this moment, a slight sound of iron chain sliding on the ground made Nicole stop retching but
tense up.
