Lillian was stunned.
She couldn't see Nicole's face clearly, but she did know something about Xander's dead body.
"Ms. Lillian?"
Nicole couldn’t help but ask since she didn’t hear her response.
Lillian sighed, "I know something about Xander's dead body, but I have no idea where it is. I only know
that Elvis collected the ice all over the world to freeze Xander’s dead body. It hasn’t been dissected and
it’s not used in any experiment. Elvis has just frozen it, and he didn’t allow anyone to move it. As for
where it’s placed, I know nothing about it. But I’m sure he wouldn’t place it on this small island which is
a fancy world for him and Una. As I told you earlier, he wouldn’t let anyone set a foot on this island if
not necessary. There’s a research center here, which is established to cure Una. I don't know what
Elvis has been doing outside these years, but he is quite rich. Those researchers in that center were
either caught here or hired through a large sum of money by Elvis."
"They have to observe Una's physical condition every day and then make a good diet for her. No trash
can be seen here, because the place is thoroughly tidied up and even disinfected several times a day,
as you have seen. Because Elvis thought that would be good for Una’s health. I mean, a dead body
wouldn’t be placed in a place like here.”
Nicole was shocked.
Why Elvis used Xander's dead body as a threat to bring her and Audrey here was to restrict them. If
the dead body wasn’t here, why would Elvis bring them to this place?
Besides, his attitude towards them was different, not that harsh she they had imagined.
Nicole felt that there must be something she didn’t know.
Lillian thought Nicole must be depressed when finding her silent again, so she started to comfort her.
"Don't be too sad. Even if your father's dead body isn't here, it might be placed in another place that I
know."
"Where is it?"
"In a private burial plot outside the country."
Lillian's words startled Nicole.
"In a private burial plot?"
"Yeah. Elvis bought it. He said that he’d like to be buried there with Una after they died. He also
mentioned that he was driven out of the Green's, so he wouldn’t be buried alongside the Greens and
he didn’t care about it. He bought a burial plot himself. I think there would be the only place where he
placed your father’s dead body."
Nicole quietly kept what Lillian said in mind. However, she did not understand why Xander's dead body
would be placed in a private burial plot. And why did Elvis hide it?
Nicole couldn’t figure it out, no matter how hard she tried.
It was so freezing here that she somewhat shivered.
Lillian felt sorry to say, "I've got used to the temperature here. Besides, Elvis wouldn't give me clothes
to survive cold. I’m afraid that I couldn’t help you. But you can get up and do some exercise, then you
won’t feel that chill. We’re under the sea where it’s several times colder than the places on land. You
look delicate. I guess you're supposed to come from a rich family. It must be the first time that you’ve
gone through such a hard time, right?”
"I’m fine. That's not that hard for me. But I’m pregnant, I’m afraid the cold might do harm to the baby in
my belly.”
Nicole stood up and began to do some exercise as Lillian said.
Lillian became a bit nervous when she knew Nicole was pregnant.
"Then you can't stay here for too long. It’s not good for the baby in your belly. You have to figure out a
way to leave. Otherwise, you might lose your baby."
Hearing that, Nicole sort of tensed up.
"I might lose my baby?"
"It's almost dark, isn't it? Once it's dark, you can't imagine how low the temperature of the sea water
here would be. And the place we stay would be as chill as a freezer. Think about it, how could you stay
overnight here with a baby in your belly?”
What Lillian said did scare Nicole.
"What should I do? I have no idea when Elvis, that bastard, would let me go. If he forgets to do that, I’ll
be the one to suffer the consequence?”
"So, hurry and figure out a way to get out."
Lillian looked more nervous than Nicole.
What could Nicole do now?
A bastard like Elvis might have forgotten her.
But when it came to the pregnant thing, Nicole thought of something in a sudden. She said with a
smile, "Ms. Lillian, I should congratulate you."
"On what?"
Lillian was surprised.
Smiling, Nicole continued, "Petty is also pregnant. We got to know we had babies at about the same
time, which wasn’t long before. I’d like to congratulate you on being a grandmother soon. So, please
don’t give up. Wait for someone to help us out, and then you’ll see the baby of Petty.”
"What were you saying?"
Lillian was in shock and then she burst into tears.
"My little girl is going to be a mother?"
"Yeah. She married Zac, her childhood sweetheart. He loves her and treats her well. And Zac's parents
are scientists, but they were caught to study the genetic data in the research center by Elvis. Besides,
Zac's mother has passed away while his father has just been rescued. You don't need to worry about
Petty, since she’s been taken good care of."
Nicole was telling something about Petty to Lillian.
This woman had been living a miserable life.
Although it was what she asked for, but as a woman, Nicole still felt sorry for her. What was more, she
was Petty's mother. Nicole thought she would stay here waiting for her death if she had nothing in her
heart.
This piece of news did excite Lillian, and she even got up and walked around, as if she could only
express her sheer joy in this way.
Some excise warmed the body of Nicole. She sat down again when she didn't feel that cold.
She did have to figure out a way to leave here.
Lillian said that it would get colder and colder in the evening, and she had been hurt before, so she
should leave as soon as possible.
At the same time, Audrey was also anxious outside.
Nicole had been away for the whole afternoon, and now something seemed to have happened in the
main hall. She didn't care about Una, but she really wanted to know how Nicole was now.
Audrey got to know from someone that Nicole had been grounded in the basement by Elvis.
Audrey knew most of the basements on this island were in the sea. People wouldn't survive the cold
there, not to mention Nicole who was pregnant now.
Not caring about others' opposition, Audrey went to Elvis directly.
As Elvis was still worried about Una who was throwing up out of both ends, Audrey suddenly pulled her
over.
"Elvis, let Nicole go."
"She burst in without my permission, so she can't leave until I say yes."
Elvis was annoyed, so he wouldn't be nice to Audrey.
However, Audrey grabbed him tightly, saying, "This woman got food poisoning, which everyone could
know. Call a doctor to put her on a drip or prescribe her some medicine, and she'll be fine. But my
daughter was grounded by you for telling the truth. Do you really want to freeze her out? Don't you
know she's pregnant?"
Perhaps it was because Audrey's voice was louder, or something else. Una heard her all of a sudden.
"What did you say? Elvis, who did you lock up?"
"Una, you don't have to worry about these things. Rest assured. I've sent someone to fetch the doctor,
and the helicopter is almost here."
Una was the only person Elvis cared about, so he had no time for anyone else.
However, struggling to get up, Una grabbed Elvis' sleeve and said, "Hurry and let Ms. Nicole go. I ate
some crabs for lunch. Later, I had some persimmon, since it looked so delicious. Maybe having the two
kinds of food at the same time wasn't good for my stomach. The doctor you called last time was thrown
into the sea due to your bad temper. Now everyone on this island is scared of getting sick, because
they are afraid there would be no doctor to cure them. But why are you still so bossy?"
She was getting angrier and angrier as she was saying, ending up coughing.
Elvis panicked as soon as he saw Una coughing.
"Okay. Fine. I'll let her go. Okay? Don't be angry. Take care of yourself."
"Hurry and let Ms. Nicole out."
Una was begging Elvis, but her attitude was pretty tough. It seemed she wouldn't loosen her grip, if
Elvis didn't promise her.
Looking at Una, Elvis could only call Harley who was standing outside, "Go take Nicole away from the
basement and send her to the wing."
He saw Audrey still standing there when turning around. He suddenly shouted in anger, "I've let her
out. But how come you are still standing here?"
Casting a glance at Una, Audrey said to her with no judgement on her relationship with Elvis, "Thank
you for helping my daughter out."
Audrey turned around and left after saying that.
She followed Harley to go straight to the entrance of the basement.
When the basement door was opened, Nicole and Lillian were stunned.
"Nicole, where are you?"
"Mom? Why are you here?"
Nicole was so surprised to hear Audrey's voice.
"Are you also grounded here by Elvis? Elvis, you bastard, I'll kill you for sure."
Nicole was crawling towards Audrey in anger.
Hugging Nicole, Audrey said with a choke, "My dear, you scared me so much. Do you know how
freezing the sea water would be in the evening? Why did you provoke Elvis, that crazy man? Come on,
let me see whether you're fine."
Nicole didn't know what to do in a sudden when she got to know Audrey was here to pick her up
instead of being grounded by Elvis.
"Mom, this is..."
"What? You'd better stay by my side in the future. Don't provoke Elvis anymore."
Audrey was critiquing Nicole in a harsh tone while Nicole was listening to her without a retort.
Tears were welling up in Lillian's eyes as she was listening to Audrey and Nicole.
If Petty was raised up by her, she would also be so worried about her, wouldn't she? Would Petty also
be cute to her like Nicole?
But that was merely her imagination. Petty had grown up, and she had been living a hard life. So she
must do something for her.
Lillian's eyes suddenly flashed with a gloomy look.
