"Mr. Green, what are you...."
"Be quick. Pour me a glass of water. I'm choking," Samuel hurriedly said, with a hiccup.
He had been waiting for Morgan to come in.
Morgan had thought of many possibilities, but none of those was near. With a sigh, Morgan poured a
cup of water for Samuel.
Samuel gulped down it and felt much more comfortable.
Morgan knew Samuel never ate hurriedly or choked, unless he was overjoyed. The food was bought by
Nicole, so he ate hastily. Surely he would choke.
Samuel looked satisfied. Morgan thought that was not the time to tell him that Nicole was attacked.
Samuel hadn't been delighted for a long time, and she'd better not break his joy.
"Anything else?"
When Samuel raised his head and saw Morgan still standing there, he frowned.
"Mr. Green, aren't you going to lie down? You are not supposed to sit for long with your injuries."
Morgan reminded Samuel.
Samuel looked at the food in front of him for a while and decided that his health mattered more.
He put the food on the side table and whispered, "Heat them for me tonight. I am not finished. I can't
just throw away the food my wife personally bought me."
"Alright."
Morgan still wanted to say something, but she didn't and quickly lowered her head.
Nicole was injured. How could she personally buy food for him? It was nothing more than having his
bodyguards buy for him, but Samuel treated it as a treasure. They were not on speaking terms and it
obviously afflicted Samuel a lot.
Even the slightest bit of kindness delighted him much.
Morgan sighed and helped Samuel onto the bed.
Samuel didn't want to rest immediately after eating greasy food. Instead, he wanted to go over and
chat with Nicole. However, when he thought of Nicole's refusal with exhaustion, he gave up this idea.
"You can go out. I'll rest for a while."
"Alright."
Morgan hurriedly walked out, afraid that if she stayed any longer, she would tell Samuel about Nicole.
Samuel took out his phone and checked the news about the company. Suddenly he saw a piece of
news, in which there was a photo of a car. It looked a little familiar.
He hurriedly zoomed in and looked at the license plate number.
That's right. It was his car!
What did the news say?
Mrs. Green Attacked at the Entrance of Fairley Restaurant?!
It was breaking news! And no one ever told him? Did they think that he had lost all of his power?
Samuel was enraged.
He recalled how exhausted Nicole was when she came back. He thought it was because of the wound.
He didn't expect that she was attacked.
She actually didn't say a word to him about such a big incident?
Samuel was so angry that his heart ached.
What did he mean to her?
Was he a stranger?
Samuel never felt that depressed.
"Morgan!"
Samuel growled and Morgan hurriedly ran in.
"What happened, Mr. Green?"
"Take me to Nicole's room."
Samuel wouldn't care about Nicole's mischief. He could put up with her not being on speaking terms
with him. But he was so furious about her not telling him she was assaulted. Did she want to do
everything without him?
Morgan glanced at the news on Samuel's phone and knew that she could not hide it.
She quickly moved Samuel into the wheelchair and pushed it to Nicole's room.
Morgan was about to knock on the door, but Samuel directly opened the door with the spare key.
"Nicole, good for you. Aren't you going to tell me about such a big incident?"
Samuel asked angrily.
Nicole was covering her ears with an ice bag. She didn't have much reaction when she saw Samuel
come in irritated. She just said coldly, "You didn't discuss with me when you decided to risk your life
before. You didn't respect my right to know about your plan. Now you realize that we are husband and
wife, who are supposed to discuss things with each other?"
These words instantly silenced Samuel.
He understood that he had asked for it.
"I just didn't want to worry you."
"So do I."
Nicole remained cold, but Samuel felt so glum that he could hardly breathe smoothly.
He looked at Nicole helplessly, not knowing what to say.
"Is that all? I'd like you to leave me alone. I'm really tired and want to rest."
Nicole's tone was still flat. Samuel could tell from her eyes that she was worn out.
He had planned to ask her why she went to the Don's. However, he could not after being expelled by
Nicole.
"Honey, can you go back to the master bedroom?"
Samuel still wanted to fight for that.
Nicole refused, "You can't move now. You need rest. I don't want to disturb you."
"You are not disturbing me. I don't care."
"I do."
Samuel was once again speechless.
Samuel knit his brows hard, but Nicole remained distant. She was neither sad nor angry, upsetting
Samuel more than she flew into a rage.
"Then when will you return to the master bedroom?"
"I don't know. Maybe when you recover."
After saying that, Nicole yawned.
Seeing that she was really tired, Samuel gestured for Morgan to push him out.
After leaving the room, Samuel's expression became gloomy.
"Call the bodyguards who were with Nicole today."
"Mr. Green, one gets seriously injured and is in the hospital, and another is giving a statement at the
police station. I'll call the one who just returned immediately. It seems to be someone from Night Elf
Empire."
Morgan reported.
Samuel was shocked.
The people from Night Elf Empire took orders from Nicole, who was still angry with him. If he did
anything to them, he may continue to be neglected by Nicole for any possible reason. That he couldn't
afford.
However, his anger could not be suppressed. He whispered, "Ask my people to find out who attacked
Nicole today. If they failed, they would know about the punishment."
Morgan knew that Samuel was venting his anger on them, but she didn't dare to say anything. She
hurriedly walked out.
Now, Samuel really felt like punching himself. He felt so bad.
At that moment, Blair called.
"Samuel, what's going on? Nicole was attacked? Could it be someone from Country F?"
"I don't know."
His not knowing what was going on, coupled with his injuries, depressed him a lot. He hated being
powerless.
When Blair heard Samuel's weak voice, he laughed, "Hasn't Nicole made up with you yet? Or is she
having fun with younger guys?"
"Blair, if you have nothing to do, I don't mind asking Emory to arrange some tasks for you. I hear that
they need a field doctor in Africa. You are a military doctor. You should go."
Samuel had been furious. Since he couldn't vent his anger on Nicole, he could do that to Blair.
Blair immediately chickened out.
"No, my dear Samuel. Forget what I said."
"Wait a moment."
Samuel hesitated for a moment and asked in a low voice, "Do you know how I can pamper her?"
"It's not a big deal. There's nothing between husband and wife that can't be solved by having sex. I
swear that she won't be angry anymore."
Before Blair could finish his words, Samuel hung up.
It suddenly occurred to him that Samuel was hurt.
No sex was being had.
Samuel was now even more depressed.
Sex?
Nicole was not even willing to talk to him, let alone having sex. He shouldn't have asked Blair.
Samuel never felt more horrible than he did now. It was driving him crazy, yet he couldn't vent it.
But Nicole did not think that much. She was so tired that she fell asleep soon after Samuel went out.
She didn't know when Morgan came in.
Morgan gave Nicole a careful check. There were only two more bruises.
After dealing with the wounds, Morgan tucked the quilt around her and then left.
Tim wanted to come over to see Nicole but was stopped by Evelyn.
Edwin had also learned that Nicole had returned. He had planned to call her and ask when she would
come to see him. But when he heard something about Samuel and Nicole from people in the military,
he was anxious.
Edwin had Steve prepare a car and some nutritional supplements. When they arrived at the Green's,
they found Nicole asleep.
"Don't wake her up. She probably didn't sleep well abroad. Now that she's home, let her have a good
rest. No one is disturbing her."
Edwin also saw the news. Originally, he wanted to ask what was going on, but since both Nicole and
Samuel were resting, he put down the nutritional supplements and left.
He could see his granddaughter at any time. Now rest mattered the most for her.
Samuel fell asleep in depression. After all, he had a major operation, so he tended to be tired. When he
woke up and knew that Edwin had come, he hurriedly called him.
"Mr. Shaw, I didn't know that you were here."
"It's fine. Take good care of yourselves. We can talk after you recover. I'll send people to investigate the
attack on Nicole today. Don't let Nicole go out for the time being."
"OK, Mr. Shaw."
Samuel nodded, and after thinking for a while, he decided to ask.
"Mr. Shaw, there's something I want to tell you."
"What is it?"
When Edwin heard Samuel said in a serious voice, his heartbeats quickened.
"Is there something wrong with Nicole? Samuel, although I'm old, I need to know whatever is about
Nicole."
Samuel hurriedly said, "It's not Nicole, Mr. Shaw. It's about Sally and her son."
"Are you talking about ... Sally? My eldest daughter who has passed away?" Edwin was
astounded.
