"Cara!"
Laurence felt as if his heart was grabbed by someone, and the pain was killing him.
He hugged Cara tightly and his eyes were already wet.
"Why?"
He seemed to mutter to himself or be at a loss for what to do.
Cara looked at the exceptionally elegant man in front of her. She burst into a smile seeing that he had
tears in his eyes because of her.
'Enough!'
'This is enough!'
Cara fainted before she could say anything.
Samuel was prepared, but he didn't expect that Major's men would dare to make a move at Edwin's
place. Samuel waved his hand angrily and members of the Green family immediately chased after
Major's men.
"Quickly send her to the hospital!"
Feeling like crying, Nicole was worried about Cara.
'This silly girl!'
Nicole knew Cara's feelings for Laurence. She hoped that Cara would be fine and that Laurence would
cherish Cara this time and see his feelings clearly.
Didn't Laurence love Cara?
No!
He loved her!
Nicole could tell it from his current expression.
Laurence had always hidden his feelings.
Because of his identity that featured medical value since childhood, he had been too reserved. If Adela
was Laurence's sunshine, then after Adela died, Cara had been Laurence's air.
Sunshine is brilliant. Whether you want it or not, after getting up, the sun will shine warmly on your
body every day. This gave warmth and anticipation to someone like Laurence, who had been forced
into the darkness.
But Cara was like air, silently seeping into Laurence's life. Normally, he didn't feel anything, as if it were
fine to have such a person or not. However, once the air was taken away, Laurence felt extreme pain
and discomfort.
Samuel did not allow Nicole to follow Cara to the hospital.
"Today is Tim's wedding day. You can't leave. Trust me, Cara will be fine."
Nicole knew that if Samuel said so, he would definitely have a way and even handle it perfectly, but she
was still worried.
A pair of small hands held Nicole's palm.
"Mommy, Cara will be fine. Although the bullet went through her shoulder, fortunately, it didn't injure the
aorta. We know a lot of doctors. As long as Cara is timely treated, she will be fine."
Joseph looked calm. This child was kidnapped not long ago, but now he was comforting his mother.
This thought almost broke Nicole's heart.
"Joseph, it's mommy's fault for not protecting her properly."
"Then, mommy, hug me."
Joseph stretched out his arms towards Nicole.
Seeing the interaction between Nicole and Joseph, Samuel did not say anything. He took out his phone
and called Steven.
"I know that you are not in the Seapolis City right now, but your wife should be here. Steven, please
ask Ashley to help me save someone. Save this person at any price. I owe you one."
Hearing that Samuel called Steven and asked Ashley for help, Nicole heaved a sigh of relief.
With the Greatest Global Scalpel, Cara would be fine.
The car quickly drove away. Apart from the bloodstains on the ground, the place was quiet again.
However, a trace of anger and ruthlessness flashed through Nicole's eyes.
"Major! This person is too hateful!"
"Yes, hiding in the darkness like a mouse and disturbing our lives from time to time, he's indeed hateful.
Don't worry, I'll find him after the New Year."
Samuel held Nicole's shoulder.
The wind and snow outside were getting heavy.
"With Ashley operating on Cara, Cara will be fine. I know you're worried about her, but don't you think
this is an opportunity? If Laurence can face his feelings, it would be great to give them a place to get on
with each other, right?" Looking at his wife and son in his arms, Samuel said softly.
"You mean don't disturb them? But Mrs. Miller...."
When Nicole thought of Mrs. Miller, a trace of disgust flashed through her eyes.
However, Samuel sneered and said, "I have plenty of ways to make her temporarily unable to come
out, let alone disturb Laurence."
"Don't go too far. You know that Mrs. Miller can bully Laurence for the rest of her life just with her
identity as Adela's mother. If Laurence finds out what you do to Mrs. Miller, he probably won't be able to
accept it."
When Nicole thought of Laurence's promise to Adela, she couldn't help but sigh.
However, Samuel smiled and said, "No. Laurence has changed a little. Haven't you noticed it? He used
to live aimlessly like a walking dead, but now he's alive with feelings. Even if he takes care of Mrs.
Miller for Adela and is suppressed by Mrs. Miller, Cara has even sacrificed herself for him today. Do
you think Laurence is a stone-hearted person?"
Hearing Samuel's words, Nicole understood a little.
Adela's death was already an irrevocable regret for Laurence. He would not allow anything to happen
to Cara because of him.
Therefore, Cara would be Laurence's new life.
Nicole smiled at this thought.
"That's good. All shall be well, and jack shall have Jill. I like such stories."
"You little fool."
Samuel put out a finger and rubbed Nicole's nose with affection.
Joseph was forced to witness PDA. He was speechless, but he couldn't interrupt. Seeing that they
were finally quiet, he whispered, "Mommy, let's go in. I'm hungry."
Right, being kidnapped and having escaped, Joseph was really hungry.
Hearing her son's words, Nicole hurriedly carried her son inside.
Samuel couldn't help but smile bitterly looking at his empty arms.
His wife!
Now, she didn't care about him like before.
Samuel shook his head and followed Nicole inside.
The room was still bustling with activity. The people inside didn't have the slightest idea of what had just
happened outside.
Nicole took Joseph back to their seats. Joseph was so hungry that he didn't care about others and
directly picked up his chopsticks to eat.
Seeing her son eat so quickly, Nicole felt sorry.
"Eat slowly. Careful not to choke yourself. Drink some water."
All of Nicole's attention was on Joseph, which made Samuel a little envious.
Tim and his bride soon went to make a toast to Nicole and Samuel.
Looking at Evelyn in front of her, Nicole couldn't help but sincerely wish, "Evelyn, I wish you and Tim a
lasting marriage and a lovely baby soon."
"Thank you."
Evelyn was really happy.
On this day she had always anticipated, she felt as if she were dreaming. At this moment, a pair of
sturdy and powerful arms directly held her waist, and a familiar breath instantly enveloped her.
Tim looked at Evelyn affectionately, then he smiled and said to Nicole, "Thank you for not liking me
back then. Otherwise, I wouldn't even know that I would be able to find the one that belongs to me in
this lifetime."
Nicole smiled sincerely.
"Don't flatter yourself. My wife won't love you anyway."
Before Nicole could say anything, Samuel directly said so.
Only Samuel would refute a groom on his wedding day.
Nicole dragged him speechlessly, then smiled and said to Tim and Evelyn, "I'm sorry. He's drunk."
"How can I be drunk? I'll banter the newlyweds later."
Samuel was very dissatisfied with the way Nicole looked and smiled at Tim.
'Am I not handsome?'
'Don't I smell good?'
'Why is she smiling so brilliantly at Tim?'
'So what that they are cousins?'
'Yeah. I'm upset. I'm jealous. So what?'
Nicole felt that Samuel was out of his mind. She quickly smiled and said, "Ignore him."
However, Tim smiled proudly.
"Banter the newlyweds? Alright, I wonder how Mr. Green will banter us. Anyway, I'm game."
"You said that. Don't cry later like a sissy if you don't dare to play."
Samuel looked at Tim with disdain.
Evelyn suddenly felt a little worried.
She was going to stop Tim, but Tim could be easily baited, not to mention that he always liked to
compete with Samuel. Hearing Samuel's words now, he immediately patted his chest and said,
"Whoever escapes is a sissy."
"OK, I hope you won't be a sissy. I really don't care."
Samuel turned around after saying so.
Evelyn felt that Tim had jumped into the pit dug by Samuel. Although she wasn't certain, she had
always had keen sensitiveness.
She looked at Nicole for help.
Nicole found it both funny and annoying.
It turned out that Samuel had planned to set Tim up in this way.
She tugged at Samuel's sleeve and said, "My cousin is getting married today. Don't go too far."
"But I've prepared a gift for him. I can't give it to him without bantering the newlyweds."
Samuel's voice was not loud, but it was clear enough for Tim and Evelyn to hear.
A gift?
Must be given when bantering the newlyweds?
Why did they suddenly feel so gloomy?
"We'll go to make toasts. Enjoy yourselves."
Evelyn dragged Tim away in horror.
"Why are you pulling me?"
Tim was puzzled. Evelyn whispered something to him. Then Tim glanced at Samuel and left.
After they left, Nicole said helplessly, "I'm his cousin."
"I know."
Samuel's face clouded over. He casually picked up his chopsticks and put some food on Nicole's plate.
"Have something to eat."
"Samuel, it's impossible between me and Tim. Why are you jealous of any men?"
Recalling Samuel's petty look just now, Nicole didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
However, Samuel did not care, "Jealousy is good for my health."
Nicole laughed.
She ridiculed him for his nonsense and then bent down and kissed him on his cheek.
Witnessing PDA, the rest people on the table were nearly killed.
It was OK to witness PDA of the newlyweds. After all, today was their wedding day. But why did they
have to witness PDA from Samuel and Nicole all of a sudden?
Currently, Joseph didn't want to look at or listen to what was inappropriate, so he lowered his head and
kept eating.
Witnessing PDA was not as good as food.
After Nicole kissed Samuel, she realized that it was inappropriate. She couldn't help but blush.
"Everyone, please, help yourselves."
As soon as she finished speaking, Samuel directly held the back of her head and instantly gave her a
fierce kiss.
"Oh...."
Nicole felt so disgraced.
She was just comforting Samuel, who was jealous, but she forgot that they were in public. When she
realized it, however, she did not expect Samuel to ignore the environment.
