The party ended early because of the mess caused by Steven's eldest daughter.
Following the departure of Steven and his wife, Blair also stood up.
"Since Steven has left, let's call it a day. But Samuel, I think you should ask Steven for compensation.
No matter what, my nephew can't be married by their girl for nothing, right?"
Blair liked to seek trouble, so he had such an idea.
Samuel glanced at him and said, "When will I get my money back?"
Blair immediately got upset.
"I don't think you are short of money!"
"Indeed, but I don't mind having too much money. After all, I won it."
Samuel acted like he needed a lesson, which enraged Blair.
Gabrielle smiled and said, "Samuel, I'll have the manager send the money to your place later."
"Gabrielle is a pragmatist. Mr. Blair, learn from your wife."
After saying that, Lucas stood up and walked in front of Nicole. He smiled and said, "Let's go. What do
you want to eat tonight? I'll take you to a restaurant. The money won today should be enough for a
meal."
Blair felt that he shouldn't speak.
Looking at them like this, Emory smiled brightly.
Claire walked over and Emory held her in her arms and whispered, "What do you want to eat? I'll eat
lunch with you."
"Do you have time? You don't need to go back to the military area?"
"I slacked off. I can make time to eat with my wife."
Emory's voice wasn't loud, and Claire just pursed her lips and smiled. However, that happy expression
still made the surrounding people envious.
The party of four ended just like that.
When Samuel brought Nicole out, Zoe felt a little uncomfortable with her stomach, which amused
Nicole.
"Didn't you see Lucas coming back just now?"
"I did, but didn't you go take care of him? I think it's best to eat."
Zoe burped and gave out the smell of cake.
"How much did you eat? Aren't you afraid that you will have an upset stomach?"
Nicole picked up Zoe with both hands, and she heard her say, "Mommy, can I go back with Nash? I
want to go to Great Grandpa's place to play."
Nash happened to be around. Hearing Zoe's words, he said, "Miss Nicole, I will take care of Zoe."
"Thank you."
Samuel wanted to stay with Nicole, so he didn't want to bring Zoe with him. At this moment, Nash took
the initiative to ask to return with Zoe, and he was so glad to hear that.
Zoe waved her hand at Samuel, then left with Nash.
Nicole said somewhat gloomily, "Shouldn't you lecture your daughter? It's not good to follow whoever
has snacks. If a bad person kidnaps her with candy someday, you'll regret it."
Samuel held her hand and smiled, "Zoe won't randomly follow others."
"Is that so? Didn't a boy lure her away with ice cream at the amusement park?"
Nicole was a little depressed when she thought of this.
That girl accepted someone's jade pendant for no reason. She still didn't know how to deal with this
matter.
Speaking of this matter, Samuel remembered something.
"I had someone investigate that jade pendant. It belongs to the Jones family."
"Which Jones family? Hurry up and send it back."
Nicole was lost for words.
Samuel smiled and said, "The Jones family in South City is famous for its achievements in music.
There are several musicians in the family. The jade pendant belongs to Armand, a child. It is said that
he is talented in music, and the Jones family has taken it as a priority to nurture him."
Nicole was slightly stunned.
"The Jones family in South City? That's a long way from us."
Samuel suddenly laughed.
"What are you thinking? Do you really think that Zoe can be married to Armand? Nobody will be
serious about the jokes in their childhood. I'll have someone return the jade pendant to the Jones family
tomorrow."
"That's right. Return it. That jade pendant is so precious."
Nicole nodded.
As they spoke, they had left the clubhouse.
Samuel asked softly, "Which restaurant should we eat at? I'll book a seat."
"Any one is fine, but aren't we going to see Melissa?"
Nicole was eager to see Melissa now.
Although the wounds on her body had scabs on them, they still hurt.
She would definitely make Melissa pay for the pain she had caused her.
Seeing her excitement, Samuel could not bear to let her down, so he called Fill.
"Get yourself ready. I'll bring Mange over later."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Samuel booked a western restaurant.
Nicole had no objection to this.
They got in the car and drove directly to the entrance of a villa in the suburbs.
Nicole looked at this place and asked, "This is your villa? Why didn't I know?"
"Not mine, Fill's."
Samuel explained.
This was the first time Nicole had heard Fill's name. She couldn't help but ask, "Who is Fill?"
"One of my friends. We established a small organization together a long time ago. Later, I joined the
army and I left it to his management. It is said that it has developed quite well these past few years."
Samuel said indifferently.
Nicole did not ask again.
They got out of the car and directly walked in.
Nicole narrowed her eyes as she watched a man with a gun on watch.
Samuel walked in with Nicole and saw a man half leaning on the sofa, his legs were stacked together
on the coffee table and he was shaking a glass of red wine.
Seeing them walk in, Fill leisurely raised his head and smiled as he greeted them, "Samuel, Nicole, you
are here!"
"Where's Melissa?"
"In the basement. Does a person like her deserve staying on the ground?"
Fill laughed viciously.
Nicole sensed his murderous aura, which made her very uncomfortable.
However, since this person was Samuel's friend, she wouldn't have any objections.
Samuel said indifferently, "I'll take Nicole to take a look."
"Here's the key."
Fill threw the key to the basement to Samuel.
Nicole was led by Samuel down to the basement.
As soon as they opened the basement door, a strong smell of blood rushed out into his face.
Nicole quickly covered her nose.
Samuel whispered, "If you can't stand it, go up. I'll go down and take a look."
"I'm fine."
Nicole could not withstand the smell, but she could hold on for a while.
As they walked down the stairs, they heard Melissa cursing loudly.
"You bastards! Let go of me! I'm going to kill you! I'm going to kill you!"
"Damn bitch, you still have the energy to shout, right?"
With the sound of a whip, Melissa immediately screamed.
Nicole frowned slightly. Looking from the outside, she saw that Melissa was whipped into a bloody
woman.
The whip had thorns on it, and once whipped, one's bones could be exposed by it.
Just like what Nicole was like that day.
Melissa was about to faint from the pain, but the punisher wouldn't let her and he grabbed her long hair,
causing her to regain consciousness from the pain.
"Where is Nicole? If you want to kill me, just do it! Why torturing me like this?"
Before she came, Nicole was extremely angry with Melissa. Now that she saw her like this, she
suddenly did not have any desire to punish her.
Fill's people had done what she wanted to do.
Right now, there wasn't a single intact spot on Melissa's body. Blood covered the scab that was ripped
off by the whip. Some of her wounds had turned purulent and swollen.
If she didn't take a close look, she wouldn't be able to tell that Melissa was a human being.
Her hair was stained with sweat and blood, and it stuck on her face in strands, making her look
extremely miserable.
Her face was swollen, and her facial features were distorted.
Nicole turned around and left the basement.
Samuel knew that Nicole was soft-hearted, so he followed.
"Do you think it's too much for her?"
Samuel asked.
Nicole shook her head, but whispered, "Melissa must have done a lot of bad things. With your ability,
you should be able to find evidence to turn her in, right? Don't let your men or your hands get stained
with blood. She whipped me three times, and such torture is enough for me. I wanted to settle this by
myself, but since your men have made a move, I will let this and her go."
She didn't want Samuel to kill because of her.
She did it to atone for the kid.
When Fill heard Nicole's words, he smiled coldly and said, "Nicole, she won't be kind to you even if you
have forgiven her. The best way to deal with people like her is to kill them."
"Her fate should be decided by the law. I don't want Samuel's hands to be stained with blood."
After saying that, Nicole walked out.
Fill looked at Nicole's back and said to Samuel, "Nicole doesn't know how cold you used to be?"
"Just do as she says. Keep her alive, send the evidence to the court and sentence her into prison. With
Melissa's physical condition, she probably won't be able to live for more than two years. Sometimes it's
better to torture than to kill."
Fill paused for a moment upon hearing Samuel, and then he nodded.
After Nicole came out, she suddenly felt a little depressed.
Samuel chased after her and hugged her.
"What's wrong? You can't bear it anymore? When she was torturing you, she never had that feeling."
Nicole sighed and said, "Perhaps I still know too little about this world. Melissa is indeed evil, but you
are too heavy-handed."
"When she hurt you, I had the urge to kill her. It's my kindness to let her live. Since you can't do it, then
I'll clean up the mess. Don't worry, I won't let her die at my hands. I'll send her to prison, and there's
another good show yet to begin."
When Samuel said this, he smiled evilly, and Nicole's heart skipped a beat.
Such a Samuel was strange to her, but she wasn't afraid because he did it for her, because he loved
her, however, she didn't want to turn Samuel into a devil.
Nicole held Samuel's hand tightly and said softly, "Samuel, I hope you can fulfill your promise to stay by
my side until we die. For the sake of this promise, don't go too far and leave yourself a way out."
Looking at Nicole's expectant gaze, Samuel nodded. However, in his heart, he thought that his wife
was too kind. Since there were some things that she didn't have the heart to do, he would deal with it.
Seeing that he agreed, Nicole smiled.
She was about to leave with Samuel when something happened to him.
