"But I want to taste the food cooked by my brother-in-law. I came all the way here. You won't just shut
me out, will you?"
Jarrod said with complete confidence.
Samuel glanced at him and said indifferently, "Why won't I? We don't welcome outsiders."
"Outsider? Samuel, you know I am your..."
"Samuel!"
Nicole ran over and looked at Jarrod on full alert.
"Who are you?" Nicole asked.
Zoe did not say anything, stood beside Joseph and curiously observed Jarrod.
"I am..."
"He's a cleaner and comes here to clean the tombstone."
Before Jarrod could finish speaking, he was interrupted by Samuel. He felt shocked that Samuel called
him a cleaner.
'Me?'
'Did he just say that I was here to clean the tombstone?'
'Are you crazy, Samuel?' Jarrod thought.
Jarrod glared at Samuel angrily but said nothing. He felt upset.
Nicole was stunned. She knew that Jarrod had no malice towards Samuel. So she became relaxed.
"Do you ask him to come here?"
"Yes, I asked him to come over and clean up Vincent's tombstone."
After explaining to Nicole, Samuel signaled to Jarrod.
Jarrod was depressed.
He was not here to clean the tombstone!
Jarrod was angry at Samuel.
However, Samuel didn't want to talk to Jarrod and left with Nicole and the children.
Jarrod was stunned when he saw Samuel and his family. He suddenly felt envious of Samuel.
"Mr. Jarrod, do we need to follow him?"
A man walked out of the darkness and asked Jarrod in a low voice.
Jarrod put on a cold face immediately and became serious. He did look like Samuel at this moment.
"No."
"Then Mr. Aaron ..."
Before the man could finish speaking, Jarrod grabbed his neck tightly. Seeing that the man's face had
turned pale, he said coldly, "Do you work for me or my father?"
The man couldn't breathe and felt extremely uncomfortable. But he did not dare to resist.
Although Jarrod was very handsome, he was definitely the cruelest man they had ever seen.
The man suppressed his fear and answered quickly, "I work for Mr. Jarrod."
"Then you should do whatever I say. You know how to report to my father. If you don't obey my order,
you know what will happen. I don't need a good-for-nothing!"
Only after saying that did he let go of the man.
The man coughed and said that he would always obey Jarrod.
"Get out! Don't stain my brother's tombstone."
Jarrod shouted. The man quickly disappeared.
He gazed at the direction where Samuel headed, but couldn't see anyone.
Jarrod turned around and looked at Vincent's tombstone. He sat down on the ground though he wore
clean white trousers.
He leaned against Vincent's tombstone and smiled.
"Vincent, let me introduce myself again. I'm your elder brother, Jarrod. Are you surprised? The lowlife
man you saved in the street was actually your elder brother. You must consider me as a bad guy,
right?"
Jarrod smiled when he recalled the past.
"You are really a badass. Why did you choose to take this job? You were such a young man. Why did
you go to the Heaven in such a young age? What benefits can you get in the Heaven? Why don't you
stay with me? Do you know that Samuel is not as good as you? Vincent, if you were still alive, we
would be able to get along much better, right?"
"Why don't you answer me? Didn't you talk a lot before? Are you still angry that I am always serious?
You once took me to the hospital in midnight. I just had a high fever. Why were you so nervous about
this?"
As Jarrod spoke, he wanted to weep.
He had a lump in his throat. But then he suddenly raised his head and forced back his tears.
"Vincent, you bastard! You said you were my brother and promised to attend the German athletic
competition together. I joined the army for you. Did you know that? But you broke your promise. How
can a grown man like you break your own promise? Get up! Get up! Why are you lying here? You can't
lie here. You are still young. You're a father. Did you know that? How can you lie here? If you're dead,
what about me and Samuel? That jerk is much worse than you."
As Jarrod spoke, tears began to flow down his cheeks.
He clung to Vincent's tombstone and sobbed. He felt terribly upset.
He couldn't vent his sorrow when Samuel was here. But now he was alone. He missed Vincent so
much.
Vincent was the first one who was kind to him in his life. Vincent was even kinder than Jarrod's father.
Vincent didn't know that Jarrod was his elder brother. But he was still kind to him.
The past flashed in Jarrod's mind like a movie. He could remember everything very clearly.
"He's dead. Could you let him rest in peace?"
Jarrod was stunned when he heard Samuel.
He was leaning against the tombstone. His body was stiff. Then he asked awkwardly, "Are you a
ghost? You make no sound when you walk."
"I'm not Vincent. I can't become a ghost. Besides, it's daytime."
Samuel's words made Jarrod frustrated.
"Could you just leave me alone? Why are you back? Just go. I'm not going to eat with your family."
Jarrod frowned and said.
Seeing Jarrod's behaviors, Samuel suddenly wanted to laugh.
"Why are you crying? Don't be embarrassed. I won't laugh at you."
"Who is crying? Did you really see my tears? I just want to hug Vincent. Don't bother me. Leave me
alone."
Jarrod became more depressed.
'Why I didn't control myself just now?' Jarrod thought.
'Why was Samuel back?'
'Why didn't the guards stop him? Were they dead?'
As if Samuel understood Jarrod's minds, he said indifferently, "I bought this cemetery. It's my place. Do
you really think that your guards can easily control over me in my place? I am curious about them and
want to know their purpose. Otherwise, do you think they can stay here? Jarrod, you are the leader of
an assassin organization. Why are you so stupid?"
"Sneering at me is the only thing you can do, right?"
Jarrod suddenly turned around.
There were still tears on his face. But he could no longer care about it. Instead, he looked at Samuel
angrily and said, "Why are you so mean? I wonder why you are so different from Vincent. Vincent was
a nice man. But why are you so annoying?"
"Then I'm really sorry that you don't like me. If I can choose, I don't want to be born. But I don't have a
choice. So neither do you."
Jarrod was stunned by Samuel's words, and felt sad.
"Mother loves you."
"It doesn't matter anymore."
Samuel never talked about Zama with anyone, even with Nicole.
He refused to talk about Zama. But Jarrod said anxiously, "At least she has stayed with you for more
than twenty years. She took good care of you. It is impossible for her to feel nothing for you even she
has an ulterior motive. After all, she gave birth to you. What about me? She never showed her affection
to me."
"Do you hate me? Do you hate Vincent? Does Vincent's death have anything to do with you? I will find
out the truth. If it has anything to do with you, I will not let go of you in spite of our relationship. Jarrod,
don't let me see you again. And don't try to harm my wife and children. Otherwise, I won't allow you to
preserve your dignity."
Samuel was very decisive.
Jarrod's heart ached slightly.
He put on a mocking smile and said, "Alright, I'll go. However, I still have to remind you to stay out of
Emory's affairs."
"It has nothing to do with you. Emory is my brother who shares life and death with me! I can even die
for him!"
Samuel made Jarrod envious.
'Damn it!'
'I am your sibling!'
'I am your brother!' Jarrod thought.
He wondered if Samuel was crazy.
He wondered why Samuel hated him so much.
Jarrod's heart ached because of anger. So he didn't want to waste time with Samuel anymore. He
stood up and turned around to leave.
'It doesn't matter if a jerk like Samuel suffers for a while. So he will learn to stop looking down upon
others!' Jarrod thought.
Jarrod seemed to forget that he was once a jerk. But when facing Samuel, he just couldn't be such
mean and cruel.
Seeing Jarrod leave the cemetery, Samuel narrowed his eyes.
He looked at Vincent's tombstone and said, "You really look like him. No wonder you have become
brothers. I am leaving. I'll come to see you another day."
Then Samuel turned around and left.
Nicole and the children were waiting for Samuel in the car. Zoe asked curiously, "Mommy, who is that
man? Why Daddy was hostile towards him?"
Joseph was stunned by Zoe's question.
Zoe only knew about food. But when did she care about the others?
Most importantly, her senses were quite sharp.
Nicole shook her head and said, "I don't know. Your Daddy will tell us when he wants to. Don't worry.
It's about adults' affairs. Kids only need to have a fun every day."
"Alright."
Zoe frowned slightly.
Joseph said nothing at last.
Joseph thought that Samuel didn't tell Nicole and Zoe about Jarrod's identity for his consideration.
So he remained silent.
When Samuel returned, Nicole looked at him worriedly. But she felt relieved when she saw that he was
fine.
"Did you find the watch?"
"Yes. I left my watch near Vincent's tombstone."
Samuel explained gently with a smile.
Joseph stared at the watch on Samuel's wrist and thought of something. The watch wasn't lost.
He thought that Samuel probably went back and spoke to Jarrod.
Nicole also glanced at Samuel. But she did not uncover his lie. Instead, she smiled and said, "It's good
to find it back. Then, Mr. Green, where are we going?"
