Nicole suddenly felt suffocated.
"Samuel..."
Nicole sounded confused and sad.
Samuel could only see red in front of him. He was filled with the killing intent, as if there was a voice
shouting in his ears, "Kill her. Kill her!"
He was filled with rage. Blood seemed to be the only thing that could calm him down. However, that
sad voice sounded familiar. Hearing the voice was like being touched by someone's soft hands. It felt
warm and sweet.
Samuel loosened his grip on Nicole.
Nicole hurriedly struggled away and covered her neck as she coughed. She stared at Samuel with her
beautiful eyes.
Something was wrong with him!
His eyes were wandering, and they were scarlet. It seemed that Samuel had fallen into a nightmare.
His breaths were also somewhat messy as he became more and more aggressive. It was as if he was
going to destroy the whole room.
"Samuel, wake up! I am your wife, Nicole! Wake up!"
Nicole shouted.
Samuel frowned. He seemed to be in deep thought, but also at a loss.
Although Nicole did not know what was going on with Samuel, she could endure no more.
She quickly stepped forward and slapped Samuel in the face.
"Wake up!"
"You're dead!"
Samuel suddenly grabbed Nicole's hand. Just as he was about to break it forcefully, a sparkling tear
dropped on the back of his hand.
"Are you crazy? Do you want to kill me? Samuel, you fucking bastard! Do it! Kill me now!"
As she spoke, Nicole took a step forward. She even stretched out her neck.
"Do it! Come on, do it!"
Samuel was somewhat dazed by Nicole's angry curses. He seemed to have remembered something.
His eyes gradually became clear as he saw Nicole crying in front of him.
Perhaps it was because she was angry, or perhaps it was because she was sad, Nicole wiped her
tears with her free hand. Seeing this, Samuel turned up the corners of his lips.
With Nicole's hand in his palm, Samuel pulled her into his arms.
Nicole was instantly surrounded by Samuel's familiar and cold scent.
"Let go of me, you bastard! Aren't you going to choke me to death? What's the point of hugging me
now? Bastard!"
Nicole hit Samuel on the chest.
Samuel smiled even more.
"Stop it, darling. Your hand will hurt."
To Samuel, Nicole was not hitting him, but tickling him. Seeing that she was tired, and that her face had
turned a little red, Samuel said to Nicole gently.
Nicole felt extremely wronged.
She was so worried about Samuel before entering the room. To her surprise, after she went in, Samuel
almost strangled her to death as if he had gone crazy.
She didn't know why, but she indeed felt wronged.
Thinking of this, Nicole suddenly bit somewhere on Samuel's chest to vent her anger.
Numbness and pain instantly assaulted Samuel.
He felt really good.
He lowered his head and looked at the little woman in his arms. His words became somehow
pornographic.
"Where are you biting?"
Nicole froze for a moment. She hurriedly let go of Samuel's chest, only to realize that she was biting his
nipple.
Nicole instantly blushed. She felt extremely embarrassed.
She was angry, okay?
She was not trying to turn Samuel on!
Nicole pushed Samuel away and turned around to leave. However, Samuel put his arms around
Nicole's waist from behind and threw her onto the bed.
"Get lost! Don't touch me!"
Nicole was almost furious, but before she could get up, Samuel directly pressed her down on the bed.
"Stop messing around. Let's rest for a while. I'm having a headache."
Samuel's voice was small, but he managed to stop Nicole from doing anything.
It was true.
Samuel was poisoned!
Nicole only came up here because Morgan assured her that Samuel had had the antidote. However,
Samuel was really strange just now. He was terrifying.
Nicole's heart skipped a beat. She asked, "The poison..."
"It's fine now. I'm just a little exhausted. Let me rest for a while. Half an hour will do."
After saying that, Samuel directly rolled over and lay down. His arms were still around Nicole.
Obviously, he didn't want her to leave.
Nicole could hear Samuel's even breathing. It seemed that he had really fallen asleep.
Nicole turned around and saw that Samuel's face was milky-white. Even his lips were pale. She
couldn't help but be worried.
She didn't quite believe what Morgan said that the poison was cured. However, Samuel said that he
was fine now. Maybe the antidote worked.
But what was going on with the violent Samuel a moment ago?
Nicole couldn't figure it out.
"Close your eyes and sleep. Otherwise, we can do something else."
Samuel, who was supposed to be asleep, suddenly spoke. Nicole was startled.
"Were you pretending to be asleep?"
"I was asleep, but you kept staring at me. It's making me uncomfortable."
Samuel didn't tell Nicole that her inquiring gaze was driving him manic. He wanted to fight and kill.
He tried his best to restrain himself, because he knew that the woman beside him was the one he
wanted to protect the most.
He would never allow anyone to hurt Nicole, including himself.
Nicole thought of the way she looked at Samuel just now. Hearing Samuel's words, she hurriedly
closed her eyes.
Nicole had had a hard time today. Now, she was surrounded with Samuel's familiar aura, and was
completely relaxed. In no time, she fell asleep.
Half an hour later, Samuel suddenly opened his eyes.
Thinking of what happened not long ago, he frowned. He wished that he could break open his head
and get rid of the poison's effects, and the cries.
It was simply too annoying!
Just as Samuel was about to get up, he found someone was sleeping on his arm.
He tilted his head slightly. All his killing intent and anger suddenly vanished when he saw Nicole's
sleeping face.
He smiled and kissed Nicole's face. Then, he slowly pulled out his arm, turned over, and got out of bed.
When he opened the bedroom door, he found that Morgan was still there.
Although Lucas did not like Morgan, he did not make things difficult for her for the sake of Joseph.
Zoe was waiting for Nicole, but Nicole hadn't come out for a long time. Gradually, Zoe fell asleep on
Lucas' thigh.
"Daddy!"
When Joseph heard the sound of the door, he suddenly raised his head and saw Samuel. Joseph
noticed that Samuel was better now, and he was very happy.
Samuel's eyes were very bright.
He glanced at Joseph and nodded.
"Prepare some mosquito repellents. We'll set off today."
Joseph froze for a moment before suddenly realizing that Samuel was talking to him. So, he hurriedly
nodded and went into the room.
Lucas looked at Samuel. He didn't move, nor could he move. He only asked in a low voice, "Samuel,
are you alright?"
"Yeah."
Samuel walked over.
Morgan immediately stood up and respectfully followed behind Samuel. She was serious and humble,
and Lucas was truly shocked for a moment.
"What is she...?"
"Ignore her."
A trace of disgust flashed through Samuel's eyes.
He rubbed his temples and said to Lucas, "Give me the ring."
Samuel did not say which ring, but Lucas quickly understood what he meant. He gave the ring of the
Harper Town to Samuel.
Samuel put the ring directly on his tail finger. It fit.
Morgan watched as the ring flickered on Samuel's finger. Putting on the ring meant that Samuel had
admitted his status as Leader of the Harper Town. Tears rolled down Morgan's cheeks before she
quickly lowered her head.
"Are you going with us?"
Morgan did not know how to answer this question.
"I don't know."
"Leave us alone. Our family is going on a trip. We don't want you around."
Samuel still disliked Morgan.
Ever since he woke up, he hadn't mentioned a single word about the Harper Town. Morgan was a little
puzzled, but she didn't dare to ask. Now, Samuel wanted to drive her away. Morgan couldn't help but
open her eyes wide.
"Mr. Green, aren't you going back?"
"Are you in charge of my own business? Why don't you be the leader of the Harper Town?"
Samuel's cold eyes swept over her. Morgan felt a little scared.
She remembered what Samuel was like when his poison was just cured. He was like the grim reaper.
Merely being with him was difficult for her to breathe.
Morgan quickly swallowed and then lowered her head.
"No, Mr. Green."
"Get lost."
Samuel didn't want to hide his emotions anymore.
Morgan glanced at Joseph's room, but she didn't say anything and quickly left.
Lucas had been staring at Samuel ever since Samuel got out of the bedroom. Morgan had left, and
Zoe was asleep. Now, they were the only two left in the living room. Lucas finally got the chance to ask
Samuel something.
"Samuel, you seem to have changed."
"There's a bug in me. I'm annoyed."
Samuel did not hide anything from Lucas. Therefore, Lucas was startled.
"A bug? Who did this to you? Morgan? I'll kill her!"
As he spoke, Lucas was about to get up, but Samuel held his little hand.
He smiled evilly and said ruffianly, "Aren't you afraid that Joseph will be sad?"
Lucas hesitated for a moment. He whispered, "Joseph said that no one is as important as our family. If
Morgan hurts you, he will protect you regardless of anything."
Samuel narrowed his eyes slightly. Something flashed through his eyes.
He said, "Lucas, listen to me. No matter what Joseph does in the future, he should not be the one to
protect us. It's us who should protect him. Do you understand?"
Samuel suddenly looked at Lucas.
His gaze was cold. It was a little scary and unfamiliar to Lucas, but he still nodded.
Samuel withdrew his gaze and said indifferently, "Pack your things. Let's go to the Harper Town."
Lucas was instantly startled.
"Just now, when Morgan was here, why didn't you..."
"Who the hell is she? Do I have to report everything to her?"
Samuel was so arrogant when he said this. For a moment, Lucas was a little dumbfounded.
Was this Samuel?
That cold and shrewd man?
