"Uncle Morty, are you alright?"
Joseph turned around and smiled sincerely when seeing Morty's thoughtful eyes.
Morty's heartbeat skipped once. Then he smiled and said, "Not good. I'm about to collapse. I wonder if
I'm not accustomed to the weather here."
"Definitely. Although it only takes an hour to fly from the Capital City to the Seapolis City, they are still
two different provinces. It is common for people to feel like this. Therefore, Uncle Morty, you might as
well go back to where you come from."
Although Joseph said it with a smile, Morty could understand that Joseph was driving him away.
He was puzzled. How did he offend the kid so that Joseph could hate him so much?
"Well, I'll be fine after a few days."
After Morty finished speaking, he directly fell onto the sofa. He didn't dare to drink the tea when he saw
it now.
Samuel shook his head as he watched them quarrel.
"Joseph, Uncle Morty is here to protect us. Stop behaving like that."
"Fine."
Joseph could only nod, and did not say anything else. He walked towards the room to see his little
brothers. He did not have time to waste here with this uncle.
Morty looked at Joseph's back and innocently said, "Samuel, why does your son hate me so much?"
"I don't know either. You'd better think of how you have offended him."
This was the first time Samuel had seen that Joseph offered to quarrel with someone, so he felt it really
funny.
Originally, he thought that Joseph was quite frank. He was afraid that Joseph would suffer a loss in the
future, but now it seemed that he thought too much.
Morty couldn't understand how he provoked Joseph. Didn't he just want to see Samuel's two sons?
"By the way, when will Femando come?"
"He said he would come as soon as possible."
Thinking of Femando, Samuel sat beside Morty and said, "Can you do me a favor?"
"What?"
Morty glanced at him and felt that Samuel seemed a little dangerous. He felt that Samuel was
scheming something.
"I'm warning you. Don't make some unrealistic requests."
Samuel said indifferently, "What do you mean by that? Femando is also considered our good friend. It's
a waste for him to be your personal doctor alone. Why don't you let him examine my wife and make an
adjustment plan for her?"
Morty rolled his eyes and felt that Samuel was so greedy.
"Where's your private doctor?"
Morgan was not a secret. But now she was not here by Samuel's side, which made it difficult for
Samuel to answer.
"She's out on business and she won't be able to come back for a while. Just tell me whether you agree
or not."
Morty was very serious. Looking at Samuel, he said, "Samuel, do you think your father can't think of
anything that I can? I don't care what Morgan is doing outside. She hasn't appeared since you were
isolated and reviewed. If you're still isolated, it's fine. But now you're back and your wife's health is not
good. She still doesn't come back. Don't you think outsiders won't have any problem with you? I don't
care what you're doing or planning, but others will. Femando can help, but you should think about what
I'm talking about."
After saying that, Morty went to the guest room.
Samuel was slightly stunned. He really didn't expect this.
A lot of people and things were involved in Davon's matter. There must be a lot of people staring at him
in the dark. Not to mention Morgan, the family history of the servants in the Green's must have been
investigated very clearly.
Thinking of this, Samuel felt his heartbeat skipped. He glanced at Morty's room and knew that Morty
was reminding him. As for what he knew, Samuel did not dare to ask, nor could he ask.
He quickly went to the study and sent a message to Jarrod.
When Jarrod received the message from Samuel, he hurriedly replied, "It's fine. Morgan will be back
this afternoon. I've already thought about this, so I already arranged for another person to treat you-
know-who. They should return together."
The name "Davon" was now taboo, so Jarrod expressed it in an obscure way.
Samuel understood and secretly sighed. Jarrod was very meticulous. Then Samuel asked, "Who is it?"
"Zac, your brother-in-law."
Jarrod's words stunned Samuel.
"What happened to him?"
Ever since Petty injured Zac, Zac left with the child. Samuel did not make things difficult for him.
Instead, he sent people to follow him and protect him. Unexpectedly, he heard from Jarrod that Zac
was injured. He was worried.
Jarrod whispered, "It's fine. We did that to attract others' attention."
Samuel instantly understood.
To divert others' supervision on Morgan, Zac was intentionally injured. Thinking of Zac's dedication to
him, Samuel felt moved.
"Is he alright?"
"He's fine now. Under Morgan's care, he's naturally alright."
They chatted for a while before putting the phone down.
Morty didn't come out again. Even at dinner, he was still in the room. He said that he was not feeling
well. Samuel asked someone to bring food in. Knowing that Morty was playing games, Samuel was
curious.
"What are you doing?"
"Well, your children don't like me. Why would I go out to annoy them? I don't want to be sick again. It's
better for me to play games in my room."
Morty didn't hide anything, which made Samuel want to laugh.
"You actually argue with a few children."
"No! I'm not arguing with them. I haven't had a good rest these past few years. So I come here to relax.
Don't disturb me. Do what you need to do."
Morty kicked Samuel out.
Samuel looked at the door speechlessly, but he still smiled. All these years, Morty had returned to his
original family and shouldered his own responsibilities. Samuel always felt that Morty was tense all the
time. Now, Morty finally returned to his former state, and Samuel was happy for him.
After Edwin returned home, he did not find anything of his wife for a long time. She even took away
their wedding photos.
She just left like that, as if she had never been to the Shaw family before. Then why did she give birth
to Sally and Audrey?
Edwin leaned against the chair. He looked a little lonely.
The person that he should apologize to for this whole life was his wife. Unfortunately, he didn't come
back to see her before she died. He even didn't know where she was buried. This kind of feeling was
really uncomfortable.
The older one got, the more he thought of something from the past.
Edwin sighed when he recalled the days when he and his wife had just gotten married. Life was really
sweet at that time. In the end, the person who had left would never come back again.
He called Samuel.
"I haven't found anything of your grandmother. Now we can only hope that Tim can find something."
"I see. Grandfather, don't be too anxious. We'll always find a way."
Samuel comforted him.
He called Tim, but Tim changed the number. Perhaps because of Evelyn's illness, they completely
stopped contacting Samuel. So he didn't know how they were doing now.
Samuel understood what Tim had done.
The three children were very happy. They were happily around their little brothers all day long, giving
Nicole a feeling of peace and quiet.
More than a week passed in a blink of an eye. The two babies just slept and ate all day, which didn't
make their parents worried.
After Femando came, he examined Morty and prescribed some medicine. He was very interested in
Joseph and they quickly became friends.
When Morty saw Joseph's attitude towards Femando, he couldn't help but feel a little depressed.
"Am I that annoying?"
Zoe glanced at him and didn't say anything, but her eyes had given a positive answer. Lucas just
pursed his lips and kept quiet. It was hard to tell what his answer was.
Morgan also returned with Zac and his son.
Zac's son was over a year old. He had just learned how to walk and speak. When he walked, he
always swayed, which made Samuel's three children even more fond of him.
The entire house was filled with laughter and excitement, making Morty feel like it was a dream.
He was destined to grow up in a lonely environment. Now that he saw such a big family living together
in a bustling atmosphere, he felt it was like dream. Suddenly, he had an idea that he wanted to be one
of them and he didn't want to leave.
Femando walked in with a can of beer and handed it to Morty. Looking at the liveliness below, he said,
"Actually, this is what life should be. You should come out and feel more."
Morty showed a bitter smile and said, "You think I don't want this? But someone must guard this kind of
life, right? If I hadn't sat in that position, they would have been at the mercy of others now. Only when
you are powerful enough can you protect the people you want to protect."
"But you're too tired."
Femando knew Morty well. He had known him for so many years. Actually, no one yearned for freedom
more than Morty, but he cared about too many people and wanted to protect all of them.
"If you haven't died, then you have to live. My life was saved by you and Samuel, so I have to do
something. What's going on with my father recently?"
Morty opened the can and took a sip. Probably because it didn't taste good, he frowned slightly.
Femando replied indifferently, "He's still keeping an eye on the Green family, but as you expect,
someone has recently been investigating Morgan's whereabouts and the people she came into contact
with. There are even some scouts in Country F. The Research Institute in the Dark Forest should be
monitored as well."
Morty did not feel surprised. He took another sip of beer and asked in a low voice, "How is Laurence?"
"Right now, everything is very stable. I'm just worried about Cara. Cara is also quite emotional and
loyal. She hasn't given up searching for Laurence after such a long time. I wanted to have a few words
with her, but there were too many people watching her."
Morty did not make any comment. Instead, he lowered his voice and asked again, "How is he? Is he
alright? Back then, he bled so much in the Dark Forest. Although Morgan rescued him, there hasn't
been any news this period of time. I don't know what's going on."
