Joseph was suddenly a little nervous.
"I'll get it."
He ran over quickly and answered the phone before the maid did.
Zoe narrowed her eyes slightly.
Why was he in such a hurry to answer the phone?
Something didn't seem right.
She didn't say anything though, just leaned aside and then saw Joseph's brow suddenly furrow.
"Joseph, what's wrong?"
Zoe stepped forward, while Joseph had already put down the phone.
He looked at Zoe and felt a little hesitant.
It had been so many days since Great-grandpa's accident and no one had actually told them. It
seemed that everyone really did treat them like children and protected them too well.
In fact, Joseph wanted to go and see his Great-grandpa. But if Eaton didn't come back at this time,
then Great-grandpa would not be able to rest assured anyway. Even if he went, it wouldn't help, but it
would be much better if Zoe went.
Zoe would not suspect what he was doing out there, and he could stall her.
Thinking about it, Joseph said sadly, "Great-grandpa is in hospital."
"What's going on?"
Zoe was suddenly on edge.
Edwin had been really good to them these past two years. With or without Samuel and Nicole, Edwin
had only been more affectionate to them.
Now that she was only going to school for a few days, how could he be hospitalized?
"Joseph, will you come with me to see Great-grandpa?"
"I've booked a flight to the academic seminar and many of the tutors are there. It's not appropriate for
me not to go. So, Zoe, I'll trouble you to look after Great-grandpa."
Joseph's words caused Zoe to slightly freeze.
What?
Great-grandpa was in the hospital and he was going to an academic seminar?
That seemed a bit strange.
Joseph wouldn't have been like this before.
If he was obsessed with medicine, she believed him. But she didn't believe him when he was so
obsessed.
But Zoe didn't say anything. She just nodded and said, "Okay, I'll come over. Joseph, if anything
happens, let me know as soon as you can."
"Okay, and if anything happens to Great-grandpa, let me know too."
"Okay."
Zoe nodded.
Something suddenly occurred to her.
"Huh? Why is the house so quiet today? Where are my brothers?"
Zoe's greatest pleasure whenever she came back was to tease her brothers because they were just so
cute. Watching them grow up little by little, from sitting, to crawling, to toddling, it was like Zoe was
seeing her life replicated all over again, and it was truly such a proud feeling.
Every time she came home, there were two babbling children. But now the house was empty and she
couldn't help but be a little puzzled.
Zoe's heart stuttered and she quickly grabbed one of the maids and asked, "Where are my brothers?"
Joseph turned his back on Zoe and glared at the maid with sharp eyes, as if to warn her, “If you talk
nonsense, I'll beat you up.”
Although Joseph had always kept his good manners, his glare was so stern that it startled the maid.
The maids had been with the Green family for a long time and had become very shrewd. When she
saw the look on Joseph's face at that moment, she hurriedly said, "The two young masters had a bit of
a cold recently and were taken to the hospital."
"How are my brothers? Is it serious?"
Zoe was instantly anxious.
"Joseph, be careful on your way. I'll go to the hospital first to check on my brothers."
"Okay."
Joseph nodded hastily, but his brows were furrowed tightly.
Seeing that Joseph did not look very satisfied, the maid could not help but say, "Mr. Green, I am really
..."
"Call the man serving Great-grandpa and tell him Uncle Blair is worried about Eaton and has picked
him up and taken him to Capital City. Where is Tanner?"
"Master Tanner is indeed in the hospital with Mr. Shaw. He says that Master Eaton is missing before his
eyes and he can't leave Master Tanner home alone."
The maid spoke in panic.
Joseph looked a little cold and intimidating, causing the maid to hurriedly speak up.
Looking at the maid like that, he said indifferently, "If you can't learn how to talk next time, go to the
butler and settle your payment. Remember, Zoe is the Green Family's only little princess. No matter
what happens, she must be kept out of the world and grow up healthy and happy. If you can't do that,
then this job really isn't for you."
The maid broke out in a cold sweat.
"Mr. Green, I ..."
"Think about what you're going to say to Zoe yourself."
With that, Joseph got up and left.
He simply packed a few clothes and headed out the door.
Zoe narrowed her eyes slightly after seeing him out the door.
Joseph was a bit unusual today. Could something be going on in Capital City?
She thought of Edison.
The man was a good friend of her brother's and a kid from the military district. She had run into him on
the way back.
Zoe thought of this and rushed out.
"Miss, Master Eaton ..."
"I'm going to go out first."
Zoe said and walked out.
She had the driver drop her off directly at the Kidd’s place and made it clear that she had come to visit
Edison.
Edison's jaw dropped in surprise when he heard.
"Visiting me? Missy of the Green Family? You're not mistaken?"
"Master Edison, how dare I be wrong about Miss Green?"
The maid said hastily.
Edison frowned slightly, intuiting that something bad was going on.
"Tell her I'm not feeling well."
"Joseph taught me a few tricks. How about I treat you if you're not feeling too well?"
Zoe had pushed her way in, and her casual look instantly made Edison a little depressed.
"Why are you entering uninvited? Besides, this is my room. If Joseph finds out you're in my room, he'll
kill me."
"Don't worry. If you don't help me, I'll make my brother kill you before he does."
Zoe was particularly cute, but her words were not.
"Zoe, we can't do this. At least my family is one of the leaders in Valence City. Is it appropriate for you
to treat me like this?"
"But this is Seapolis City."
Zoe said innocently, then jumped on Edison's table and casually wiggled her long legs.
Edison got even more depressed.
"Come on down. If your brothers see you like this, they'll get me killed."
He knew best how much the Green Family cherished Zoe. Now he really felt like weeping but had no
tears.
This was the effect Zoe wanted.
"Do you think I should send a video to my brother so he can see that I'm playing quite well at your
house?"
"No, never! Just say it, and command me all you want."
Edison was truly speechless.
They said the Green Family's little princess was beautiful and gentle, but he didn't think so at all. He
was just her free laborer.
Women were terrible!
Why couldn't she be as gentle as her mummy?
Thinking about it, Edison resigned himself to his fate.
Hearing what Edison said, Zoe burst into joy, jumped off the table, and said with a smile, "It's simple. I
want you to find out for me whether Joseph's trip to Capital City was for an academic seminar or not. If
not, why is he going?"
