That bullet took two lives in one shoot as neither of them survived.
For the past few years after Cece passed away, Tim exterminated a family in the Yathein at all costs to
avenge Cece, and no one else dared to mention that family anymore. However, they did not expect
Shawn to take part in the murder.
“Tim, we can’t just stand and do anything anymore.” Sage said, “Shawn is a crazy man. We cannot
expect or judge his action with our theory. He is not like us. Even if we don’t do anything, he won’t let
us go anyway, so why don’t we make the first move?” Tim was calm as the water in the lake. In fact, he
had already thought about what Sage said. He was never a person to sit and wait. All these years, he
had never stopped tracking Shawn. His men had already fought with Shawn countless times, and each
time both parties suffered heavy casualties and none of them was the winner.
It was never his intention to let his younger brothers and sister find out about it. As the eldest brother,
he did not want them to worry about him. He wanted them to live a normal and happy life as their
mother had hoped.
In spite of that, it was not happening this time. When he found out the truth about Cece’s death, he had
the desire and the urge to die together with Shawn so he could seek revenge for her! His wife and his
child could not die in vain! “You’re right.” Tim said with a deep voice, “It’s time to seek revenge for both
the old and new hatred.”
Jace had a dinner appointment with Cole to talk about Jekyll that night. During the evening, he received
a call from Cole, “I have to take a rain check for tonight. I just got a notice to work overtime.”
“Fine, tomorrow then,” Jace answered and wanted to hang up the phone. “Why didn’t you ask me the
reason for working overtime?” Cole asked back “Isn’t it normal for a police officer to work overtime?”
Jace replied back faintly, and yet, he soon realized there was something wrong. His eyes turned sharp
and he asked, “Is it about Jekyll?”
“I was going to say that you have become less sensitive after the surgery, but you realized it
immediately. Alright, you are still the genius even though you were a bit slower.” As usual, Cole still
liked to beat around the bush. Jace refused, “Beat it. What’s going on? Did something go wrong with
Jekyll?” “According to the internal confidentiality agreement, I should not let you know about this, but …
you are my best buddy. So…I’m going to pick up someone from Skye Hotel. Take a guess who I’m
picking up,” Cole continued blabbering. Jace lost his patience and yelled, “Spill it!” Cole pouted. “So
rude… I’m picking up someone really special. He is a captain of Tovres’ air
force and also the second in command currently. His ancestor had moved to Tovres from our country,
which means this is somewhat his home country too.”
Jace’s expression changed immediately as he visioned a mixed-blood face. The man looked at Jace
with his light grey pupils and shook Jace’s hand. “You’re welcome. It’s part of my job.”
“Coincidentally, the captain from Tovres went to be a commercial pilot and became a hero after saving
over 300 people in the plane. Your wife was one of them.” Cole explained and corrected himself
immediately, “Oh, wait, I mean, your ex-wife.”
“So, I think you must have guessed who I’m talking about right now,” Cole continued.
How could Jace not know who Cole was talking about? He put the cap back on his pen and uttered out
a name, “Yale Yadeev.” ‘So it’s him. Did he come to Salem City because of Jekyll? Is it a request
from… Sage?’
