“How’s it possible?!” Sage felt unjust. “Take out the skin of the tomatoes, mother always found a hassle
to peel off their skin, and she’d just cook tomatoes with the skin. At least I’m willing to peel off the skin.”
Tim pressed his lips together softly and replied, “Mm, it tastes better with the skin peeled off.
Sage was rendered speechless. Rolling her eyes at Tim, she sulked, “What do I even expect from
someone loyal to mother? How can I even compare myself to her, right?” Sage pursed her lips
together, looking all upset. On the other hand, Tim chuckled at the sight of her pity look.
He took another long look at Sage who looked similar to his mother, and the smile on his face slowly
disappeared. After a pause, he suddenly said, “Perhaps, mother’s still out there, somewhere alive.”
With a soft thump, the spoon in Sage’s hand dropped onto the ground.

Someone was swimming swiftly and elegantly in the pool.
She swam several laps.
Sage spent nearly her entire afternoon in the water, organizing her thoughts, trying to make herself
think clearly.
Tim told her that her parents might be alive.
He then added that the burnt bodies that were retrieved at the accident were not her parents. The
forensic officer was one of Tim’s men.
In other words, the forensic test report could have been forged.
“At first, I sent my man there because I didn’t want anyone else touching my mother’s body. But when
the forensic test results proved that those bodies did not belong to mother and father, that was when I
knew something was wrong.” Sage’s eyes were reddened. “Then why? Why didn’t you tell me in the
first place?” Tim responded. “I didn’t just keep it a secret from you. I kept it from all of you. Because I’ve
yet to find them.”
He then added, “I’m worried that any rash decisions or wrong move might ruin their plan and it might
even put you in danger.” “So, what about now?”.
Looking urgent, Sage asked, “Did you manage to locate them?”
Tim shook his head. “But Shawn’s on the move again.”
Sage’s pupils widened. “And you know what this means.” Tim sounded solemn. “Shawn and Jekyll,
they both want different things. Jekyll wants inheritance but Shawn wants to destroy.”
Sage came out of the water and saw Abby holding her ringing phone in one hand while calling out to
her.
Walking up the stairs, Allie wrapped a towel around Sage’s shoulders while Sage took her phone from
Abby. Checking her phone, Sean and Luther left her missed calls. She first returned the call to Sean
while sitting on a bench and taking a sip of the fruit juice. As soon as the call was answered, she
asked, “Hey Sean, what’s up?” Sean kept it simple. “Luna was released earlier this morning.”
Sage froze.
Luna requested medical parole and she was released on bail.
After getting more information from Sean, she then ended the call with him and made a call to Luther.
“Jesus Christ! You’re finally answering your phone.”
Sage suddenly had the urge to tell Luther about the news that her parents were still alive. However,
she was reminded of Tim’s orders so she restrained herself from saying a word.
Luther also told her about the news that Luna was released.
“Sean told me just now. Something about her having some connection with a minister and that Sienna
had something to do with this as well?” Sage scoffed. “Luna and Sienna, they just don’t seem to learn
their lesson, do they?”
